  1. I think it will depend on how the whole team looks. If it takes a while for the new offense to jell, then Kolb's the guy. If somehow it clicks right a way, and the defense at least looks average, I could see Manuel taking over early. I don't want another Gabbert situation, where the team drags the QB down. More a Kap or Wilson situation, where EJ can get comfortable and won't have to shoulder the entire load out of the gate...
  2. A couple more Game Changers clips: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/0ap2000000153499/Game-Changers-Irvin-s-keys-to-NFL-success http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-draft/0ap2000000153486/Game-Changers-The-Field http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-draft/0ap2000000153485/Game-Changers-Going-Deep
  3. I don't give a $hitt about their misery...I care about OUR misery from having TSW cluttered up with their posts....
  4. Yeah, Patterson's from Rock Hill, SC so he must have played against Gilmore a lot in high school... As to the NFLN interview, it's interesting that Woods and Rogers have been working out together and will arrive as teammates with some level of communication (friendship?) in place. Woods seems like a mature, professional kid who could be a great influence on Da'Rick and help keep him focused when the $$$ start coming in...
  5. Here it is: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/0ap2000000153484/Game-Changers-The-Interview
  6. Here's the rub, however. In Hackett's fast-paced, no huddle-type offense, will maulers be required/desired or will it be mobile movement-types (like Levitre, who would have been perfect in this offense at the right price...sigh).
  7. Yeah, but wasn't his knowledge of him related to stopping the wildcat, which is unlikely to be a part of Hackett's offense? And as was said above, Manuel can play that 'option' role in year one, even if he can't get on the field as a full-time QB behind Kolb. While that 'mentor' role could be a possibility, it still seems like an expensive luxury. I'd much rather use that budget at another position of need, like having Dansby be a steady veteran influence on a young LB group, or Moore playing the same role on the O-line. Or, if it's just a straight out money save, putting those dollars to work for Bryd. (Lindell's $300,000 cap save isn't much help there, )...
  8. Yep. What's the over/under on his crash and burn... http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/move-sanchez-jets-select-qb-geno-smith-nfl-draft-article-1.1328697
  9. It just doesn't make financial sense, IMO. That money could be redeployed so much more effectively. I hope Buddy sees that as well, even if the coaching staff says nice things about him running around in shorts...
  10. IMO, Brad's got to be gone in this offense, now that we have some size on the outside. He's a long strider, rather than quick, which is what this group is going to emphasize. And I just can't see any Wildcat in the Bills future. And most of all, with a $2.75 million cap save (and $3.25 million cash save) by cutting him, you can essentially pay for Dansby or Moore, should the coaching staff like to add some veteran presence. http://www.overtheca...Bills&Year=2013
  11. Dansby's next move may be to wait to training camps open and see if any injuries re-open demand for him. That's a very risky move for a 30+ year old guy, but one that would help him get paid...
  12. I'm hopeful that this move is only on paper and in April! As a former lineman, I'm sure Marrone has a good feel for the talent he's got...or doesn't have at this juncture. I hope Brandon Moore is still an option, since the line could use some veteran leadership...
  13. Yes, that would be the direction I'd go after not getting OL help this weekend. He'd be a nice insurance policy for a line that has a lot of inexperience at the OG spot...

  17. Far from it. Once their college eligibility is up and they sign with an agent, everything's on the table. Agents routinely advance top tier prospects beaucoup bucks for things like specialized training by QB gurus, speed coaches and also for wardrobes and other things that will help them 'sell' themselves to teams and land endorsement deals. That's why when guys like Barkley and Nassib, who were expected to get first round contracts, fall into the 4th round (where they'll probably land $4 million tops over four years), the agents can get a lot less than they bargained for...

  19. http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2013/04/nfl_draft_2013_kickers_and_pun.html Dustin Hopkins, K, Florida State 6-2, 193 When he’s not kicking, the kid can move. Hopkins opted to take part in all the drills at the combine and registered a 4.74 40-yard dash, which ended up being quicker than several receivers and running backs. He also completed more bench press reps, 13, than some offensive linemen and defensive ends. Oh, and he’s also an accurate and powerful kicker.

  23. I was thinking the same thing when I saw him featured as the team's top player / face of the organization on the Bills season tix TV ad...
  24. Sounds like a resilient, level headed kid: http://www.greenvill...uring-NFL-draft http://www.clemsontigers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=28500&ATCLID=205717948
  25. http://www.draftinsider.net/reports/2013/S/Jonathan-Meeks Sounds like a hybrid DB/rover-type that Pettine can scheme with. Not liking the 5th round for him, but he looks like a fit for the defense we're going to run.
