  1. Can't tell until he has a Snickers bar...
  2. Tommy Craggs is the guy I'd like to see prosecuted. He facilitated the distribution of the recording without concern for its legality, so I'd go after him as well: http://bostonherald.com/news_opinion/local_coverage/2013/05/fed_charges_hit_sports_pranksters Craggs slammed the Department of Justice over the charges — suggesting an overreach along the lines of the unfolding scandal in Washington, D.C., over monitoring of journalists’ phone calls, emails and movements. “The one thing that seems to rouse this DOJ to defend the telephonic privacy rights of the citizenry is a couple of NFL executives getting punked,” Craggs said. “What’s next — are we going to send the Jerky Boys to Otisville? This is the dumbest (expletive) thing.” Classy guy...
  3. Not meaningless, but not worthy of the passion some posters have for putting Johnson on a pedestal. I wouldn't even put him in the Bobby Chandler category among all-time Bills: http://books.google.com/books?id=1N-SOaVJITgC&pg=PA56&lpg=PA56&dq=bob+chandler+buffalo+bills&source=bl&ots=c5a4w0dBQj&sig=p2cDPPBZoqZ4UDhRDK-rSd-R9Qk&hl=en&sa=X&ei=YhqoUYO7I4nB0AHyg4HgCQ&ved=0CEMQ6AEwAg
  4. I was waiting for this one. Surprised in a thread that's devolved into slagging the 'foundational fathers' of so much that followed (regardless of what genre you like) that it took so long to come up.
  5. Bullitt with Steve McQueen. Caught it last night on AMC and was laughing at all the pregnant pauses in dialog, stilted acting and so-so action sequences (outside of the iconic car chase). It gets a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, putting in the top tier of American movies, but I just don't get it....
  6. Yet another useless thread...
  7. I did as well. Funny how the Bills had among the top ranked special teams units in the NFL during many of those years (#1 in 2004, 2005, and 2008, #3 in 2009) if he was putting his team at such a disadvantage...
  8. You realize you're talking about the 31st ranked punter in NFL history in terms of career punting average (44.0 YPP) and number 25 in total punting yardage? http://www.pro-footb.../M/MoorBr24.htm No, I didn't think so... (Anyway, if he's talking about his collective time in Buffalo, why the hell are you citing stats from last year?? The other 11 years are just as relevant)
  9. Haters gonna hate...when a top 16 punter is 'part of the problem,' maybe SDS should just shut this place down until training camp.
  10. Nothing to see here, IMO. Throughout Moorman's time as a Bill, they were in perpetual rebuilding mode--with 8-8 being a sign of progress for that type of team. As we all know, however, the "rebuild" would always break down and shudder to the side of the road to await the next HC, GM, front office savior, who would start the process anew. If Brian were still a Bill, the same attitude would be in play this year...
  11. Saw ST ID over the weekend and totally agree with your take--especially this one: - So all it takes to cure any dying person is to inject that person with Khan's blood ? The Holy Grail ! Life's mystery is solved !!! IMO, the problem lies with the demand by today's movie going public (i.e., teens and anyone older that still thinks like one) that these tent-pole franchieses be SFX extravaganzas (meaning filmmakers can't go 5-minutes without a big bang, boom, crash, fight scene etc.) It handcuffs the story telling aspects that ST (and all good sci-fi) are grounded in, which makes them simply comic books...
  12. We had the same problem with a male that would wake us up every morning. We put a screen in front of the window that cut down on the 'mirror effect' of the glass and that solved the problem. Here's some commercial remedies as well: http://www.wild-bird-watching.com/Cardinals-Windows.html#sthash.k9KcMPlN.QCNKFMOh.dpbs http://www.sialis.org/windowstrikes.htm
  13. Maybe more than a visit (unless he packed really, really light)... "Owens, wearing Bills team-issued shorts, spent this morning watching practice at One Bills Drive." http://blogs.buffalonews.com/press-coverage/2013/05/former-jags-rb-montell-owens-at-bills-practice-this-morning.html
  14. Some people need a villain. Otherwise, they might have to do more self reflection...
  15. While I like EJ's confidence, I doubt very much that the whole offense has been installed yet. As a variation of the K-gun, it will certainly feature a core set of plays that may seem simple now. But that doesn't mean there won't be more sophisticated variations added once they get to camp...
  16. In all likelihood, it's as simple as that. The posters promoting the conspiracy theories are probably light years removed from any hiring responsibility and never gave a thought to that aspect of the GM position...
  17. Of course, that 6-4 220 lbs has to be put in context: 1975 All-Pro Offensive linemen: Right Tackle: Ron Yary 6-5 255 lbs Right Guard: Joe DeLamielleure 6-3 254 lbs Center: Jim Langer 6-2 250 lbs Left Guard: Tom Mack 6-3 250 lbs Left Tackle: Art Shell 6-5 255 lbs
  18. Yeah, I threw that out there with a smile. I agree with Dave's definition of a #1 in the post above, however. That description goes well beyond stats, which is all I keep seeing from the Stevie supporters on this thread...
  19. By that reasoning, Fitz must have been a legit starting QB since he was one of 32 as well...
  20. THE definitive answer. The Internet in general--and TSW in particular--is the bane of productivity...
  21. I'll stop reading this thread now as nothing more needs to be said...
  22. Being Number One by default doesn't make you a #1 by my broadest of definitions (i.e., repeatedly being a difference maker when the game is on the line). Or in Buddy-speak, being a guy who's open, even when he's covered. Steve Smith has been one of my favorite players for a long time. But like Johnson, his value to the team hinges greatly on the lack of talent at the other WR spots, IMO. Reed was a difference maker, and so is Welker--so by my definition, they're both clearly #1s...
  23. OBD may or may not think he's a one...but he's being paid like a #1, so Salguero (who's a pretty good writer with a long track record of covering the Fins) can take a bit of the low road, I suppose. The fact the front office has from time to time talked about the slot being Johnson's best position suggests they don't necessarily think he's a one, either...
