  1. Man, I really love these Incognito threads. They take all the work out of managing my 'Ignore' prefs...

  3. Go all In...include TSW in that deal and you're golden.
  4. Just because some dillweed with Forbes say its so? The opening non-binding first bid is never the final price. The Forbes guy knows this and is just shoveling Scheiße to sound important (or even shilling for Morgan Stanley).
  5. Let's agree to disagree. IMO, this year's top 5 WRs without Johnson are an upgrade from last year's roster, while the additional budget dollars allocated to another position (DL or OL) are a net upgrade for the team
  6. For me, the answer is "Yes." Not for what Hogan brings, but rather, for what Stevie doesn't--the ability to help a young QB by running disciplined routes. Counter that with his proven ability to be a class clown / LAMP and recent run of nagging hamstring/leg injuries and it's a classic "addition by subtraction" scenario. Allocating Johnson's $3 million+ salary save to other positions is another positive, IMO...
  7. We have a winner! (cleaning the coffee off my monitor now...LOL)
  8. "lack of chemistry"--i.e., freelancing the route so the QB has no idea of where Stevie's going to be? I'm shocked...
  9. Ya think? This guy is the personification of "the smartest guy in an empty room." It's not a bit surprising that any opening non-binding bid would be below sticker price. Apparently this clown has never bought a car, boat, island, etc. before. Who makes an high ball offer on the first pass? I have no doubt whatsoever that the Bills will go for north of a billion, and perhaps even well north, when the real offers start to fly...
  10. Schopp would say his mother wears combat boots if it'd help get listeners/ratings in August. The whole 'GR schtick is to say something to agitate rather than inform. It's page one of the "Sports Talk Radio Consulting" playbook and it always amazes me how many suckers listeners fall for it...
  11. Hummm...I seem to recall BB (and the Tuna) acting like that before he won his first. Maybe we're on to something here...
  12. The month of August at this site is the definition of 'insanity' in Merriam Webster...
  13. Hey...ask for the moon, hope for a crater. Sounds like a good initial offer on Jimbo's part to the bidders who've got to assemble a consortium to come up with the necessary scratch.
  14. Thanks. This is a very useful thread for winnowing the chaff from the wheat. Too bad I'm at my 16-page limit, though, and have to purge a name for each one I add...
  15. Perhaps you should seek medical attention... http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2013.htm
  16. For all we know, that whole goal line series could have been dedicated to finding out what to do with Legursky--does he make the team or do they go in another direction. That's what the preseason is for--player evaluation and roster selection. And yet this continues to elude more than a fair share of posters.
  17. Took 14 posts to get a cogent analysis....
  18. Not to diminish a worthy organization, but this is not a huge endeavor: http://www.huntershope.org/site/DocServer/HHF_2012_Amended_990_FINAL.pdf?docID=15008
  19. My brother in Doctor Phillips goes to Buffalo Wild Wings on I-Drive.....
  20. An NFL franchise has been the best business investment of the last 30 years. Better than Microsoft, better than Apple, better than Berkshire Hathaway. Sure, past performance is no guarantee, blah, blah, blah. But the odds of an about-to-go-global NFL becoming less valuable in a media-obsessed world over the next decade-plus are less than the proverbial plant killing asteroid strike...
  21. Mary Wilson's going to clear a cool $1 billion on a $25,000 bet Ralph made in 1959. That's a compound annual rate of return of 21%. Try finding any other investment you can get that kind of return on. NFL franchises are NOT about operating profit--return on invested capital is what makes them the golden goose of investment options.
  22. I get the sense that the Toronto group continues to participate to make sure the NFL knows they're serious about someday acquiring a franchise, like Sharif Khan the Jag's owner did with his initial bid for the Rams. Sort of a pre-vetting for the next time a team comes on the market....
