  1. Disagree with all three points. TP is a good businessman. Like all good businessmen, he'll take his time evaluating the front office and learn a lot about the NFL from Russ. Doesn't mean he wouldn't hire another PRESIDENT someday, but it's highly unlikely he'll come in and make waves in year one. Since Russ's role as team PRESIDENT doesn't include responsibilities for football operations, TP would be unlikely to limit what Russ does best...put fannies in the seats, market the team, look for new revenue sources, be an advocate for the Bills at league meetings, etc. Russ is an upstate NY guy and the PRESIDENT position is his dream job. The league office is just a bureaucratic administrative function and not a place to shine or have fun. Nobody goes there if they can be in that exclusive fraternity of 32....
  2. Finally, something we can all agree on...
  3. ...DEAD! Yes, I think we can agree that this is the side of the front office that needs to be given a serious house cleaning...
  4. Yep. The need for a scapegoat is strong with some people. As to establishing a 'winning culture,' IMO the Bills began to move further down that road at the same time Ralph stepped back and handed the team over to Russ. Go figure...
  5. In other words...the exact setup that's in place now.
  6. Yep. As much as I love Jimbo, he needs to move to the sidelines here...
  7. Yep. It's having the quality depth that's been lacking for many, many years. Backups that can step in and play at a high level, either by necessity (Graham, Preston Brown) or to keep the starters fresh (Lawson, Charles, etc.). That was the real difference maker I saw yesterday. Instead of wilting in the fourth quarter as the starters wear down, the D was still stout and forced the the critical punt to get the ball back in OT. That's what winning teams do and I'm excited to see how it continues...
  8. You got that right: Just Google... "bears season over what do we do now" Sully's a homer compared to Rosenbloom.
  9. WGR and credible are oxymoronic. With each passing day, I'm growing more convinced the world of advertising-supported electronic media would say/do anything and everything to generate clicks, ratings points.
  10. That was my pick as well. Drink it fast because it'll go flat in under five minutes...
  11. We really do need some kind of TSW intervention.... "Sources deep within".....
  12. Easy enough to use the ignore button. Click...
  13. (since we have 2 threads on this, I'll join the echo chamber as well) Stirring the pot on the Friday before the season opener. Good strategy to generate clicks when there are so many other competing sources to attract the eyeballs...

  15. Shilling for Morgan Stanley, no doubt...
  16. Yep, Vic's contacts around the NFL are a great 'add' for the Snooze,,,something that's been lacking since the 'Old Guard' (Felser, Kelley, etc.) left the building.
  17. Cool story, dude...
  18. But then how would we know who to ignore?
  19. FYI, he's not eligible for a practice squad...
  20. Well, that's debatable. The Montreal Alouettes offered Cousineau double the money the Bills did and his agent jumped on the offer. IIRC, pretty much the one and only time a CFL team outbid the NFL. And in a round about way, the "Cousineau affair" worked out OK (i.e., it allowed the Bills to draft Jim Kelly with the pick they got from trading him to the Browns when he came back to the NFL). Of course, the same scenario played out with Jimbo and the USFL....
  21. Agreed. Now if the Sabres name Sam Reinhart a captain this year, maybe I'll reconsider my position.
  22. I stopped reading right here...
  23. I love these kind of Rorschach test threads. The negative responses from the 'usual suspects' are a hoot...
  24. A solid group of veterans, all. Who'd a thunk it...
