  1. Same here. I wonder if TG's source on this was in fact Marrone himself. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if Doug interpreted Polian's decision through that prism... So in other words, they read the Buffalo News. Gotta love news 'organizations' these days...
  2. You know, that's an interesting point. It's the Sugar Bowl, BTW. "...the Pegulas couldn't assure Marrone their organizational changes would be substantial enough for Marrone's liking." The boss is in the Big Easy scouting and Marrone tries a palace coup. %*@!^#
  3. Reads like TG in damage control mode. The bit about the OBD "lifers" doesn't ring true as we're now in the post-Ralph world, where they no longer have air cover. The Jim Overdorf's and Bud Carpenter's of the world will soon be gone, just like Littman. "Polian would need to coordinate a coaching search in addition to find a new quarterback and maybe reorganize the scouting department." Where's Whaley... off getting coffee or polishing cleets? Sorry, still not buying it.
  4. Sigh...it's been one of those days. I think it would be best to go drink some eggnog and watch some football...
  5. "I have a seashell in one hand..."
  6. Maybe. But also, it would be pretty hard to evaluate the talent without knowing what the incoming HC was going to implement. Or if Peg's opens the vault and hires a heavy hitter HC who would want to build his own power structure regardless of what Polian advised. Just too many moving parts in the space of 24 hours. What a cluster...
  7. You realize Sammie set a Bills team record for rookie WRs, right?
  8. Nor, IMO, would he ever say it to TG, because it reflects badly on the franchise. Call me naive, but I believe BIll would never slag the Bills like that either on or off the record. He'll always love the team and the town and would never air laundry like that with a lightweight like TG...
  9. Damn it. He missed a wide open Hanukkah. He'll never be more than a 50% tweeter...
  10. Perhaps. But I'm pretty familiar with how Polian operates and that doesn't sould like him. TG on the other hand...
  11. That "who ripped the organization" line is pure TG innuendo/speculation at it's finest. Polian wouldn't have let a second-year coach's opinion influence him if he thought the job description Pegs outlined was still the same.
  12. I put way more stock in what Polian told Vic, whom he's had a long-time relationship with. TG speculates a lot, and IMO tries to couch his thoughts as "news." Don't have a lot of respect for him, frankly...
  13. Nice quote, but what did Spikes know of the 'mentality' before this year? On the other hand, Kyle Williams thoughts are very telling...
  14. Yes, that's a big advantage. And he has the luxury of actully saying what he thinks rather than shilling to sell papers...
  15. Nah...I think Buddy was always on his way back to Tennessee. He had like a one-year consulting contract (oddly, like Polian was set to have)...
  16. Yeah, that logic is real odd. I wouldn't think Bill would've been here more than a year or two, either way. Maybe its just stepping back from the shiit storm ahead of the HOF vote, so as to not tarnish his legacy (something Marv should have done)...
  17. Rivers was a shell of the guy we saw in week three. His passes were wounded ducks and the Bills would have mopped the floor with SD if he was playing like that in September...
  18. Still a headscratcher, since reports were that Pegs was eventually going to give him a raise. I can't see money being the deal breaker. It has to be about wresting more player personnel control away from Whaley and Pegula not willing to go there before consulting with his (supposedly) incoming Czar...
  19. I just figured it would include a $4 million tab after Hoddie and Saben slipped out the back door...
  20. Belichick, Saban and Marrone walk into a bar. There has to be a joke there...
  21. He'd have to come as an associate head coach as well, otherwise its a lateral move...
  22. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/01/polians-return-to-bills-breaks-down-over-money/ Florio is an idiot. Daddy Pegs would never let money stop any negotiation...
