  1. The old rest rooms at the Ralph, I think...
  2. Three years is a hoot. I wonder how much of his contract is guaranteed...
  3. We agree on that, at least...
  4. I voted "no" but it doesn't mean he can't be a very good backup, which is an important and valued position on any team. He's not expensive and seems to be a good locker room presence. In a league that only has 16 or so 'franchise' QBs, this fact shouldn't warrent the "cut him now" retoric...
  5. No, this is crap... http://www.footballperspective.com/worst-passer-ratings-in-every-year-since-the-merger/
  6. I'll keep looking for some backup on that guy's claim, but how about this: The top-10 all-time rookie QB ratings has Charlie Batch at number 10 with an 83.5 rating. Manuel's rookie rating was 80.3 or not that far off of Batch... http://vikefans.com/index.php/topic/14328-best-rookie-qb-seasons-in-nfl-history/ http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/ManuEJ00.htm
  7. Nice straw man, but wrong.... http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bills-nfl/whaley-will-still-assemble-roster-20150114
  8. How may of those guys only played 15 games, however? What's becoming an iron-law is the perception of E.J. as a bust after less than one full year of playing time. I can't think of another QB outside of Johnny Football that has been given up on in so limited a time frame. It's a bit shocking, in fact...
  9. With the change in rookie contracts, that problem might not be as difficult a lift as the examples you provided. Much of the problem in the past examples was driven by high contract $$$ for midling performance. EJs contract isn't that huge that some team might want to take a chance and kick the tires... Freeman contract: 5-years, $36 million http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4367944 Manuel contract: 4-years, $8.9 million http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/e.j.-manuel/
  10. Talentwise, I agree with you. But the fact McCown has had a previous working relationship with the OC and OL coaches is a definite plus over guys who haven't worked with any of the coaching staff before. That may be weak tea as far as a differentiator, but it may be an important reason why they're pursuing Josh rather than a guy like Moore.
  11. Funny, I thought we were in the market for a veteran backup to upgrade from Tuel. Perhaps you're confused about what this signing is about.
  12. Why in God' name?? EJ's on a rookie contract that doesn't save them much if anything in terms of cap space. There's absolutely no reason to not take a look at him in training camp and make a decision then. I've always thought Whaley was a smart guy--and this would be a really dumb move...
  13. Who's your alternative? Typical TSW response...
  14. At the time, it wasn't too funny... http://www.boston.com/sports/touching_all_the_bases/2014/09/sunday_mail_14.html http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2014/09/30/for-tom-brady-end-game-has-become-apparent/HkkQMtH3T6hbJMEDlJioqI/story.html
  15. Then again, reading posts from dip$hits must get old pretty fast...
  16. Or you could put him on ignore and let the tree fall in the woods....
  17. I guess they didn't consult with Battling Bill on that story... http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000121582/article/bill-polian-moneyball-does-not-work-in-the-nfl

  19. Yep, people would rather look at cat memes and articles about Bruce Jenner's sex change than ones about Putin or ISIS or the social security trust fund...
  20. That's who he reminded me of as well. Tough to evaluate his moves on some of those runs, though. Many were just spints to the endzone with nothing in front of him...
  21. Speaking of Aretha, her version of Otis Redding's Respect is a killer....
  22. Good analogy. For a fart in the wind topic, how did this thread reach 17 pages...
  23. Excellent player but he'll be too expensive, given the seller's market for quality DT's. My bet is Oakland or Chicago sign him...
  24. Didn't Baltimore win a SB with this approach? How many teams outside of Seattle can throw up the defensive pressure the Bills can? It makes more sense than holding out for some franchise savior to get cut/traded so you can tie up that cap space...
