  1. Not sure about your "connections" to OBD, but respectfully, but I'm really starting to question your football knowledge based on your recent posts. Before his groin injury, Fred was averaging 4.3 ypc -- just a scooch below his 4.4 career average. He also had 33 catches at a 7.9 ypc (vs an 8.2 career average). Coming back from the injury too soon (after missing only two games) was the problem, IMO, as he never had the same burst. Freddie's no doubt on the downside of a great career. But to say he should retire is just plain dumb,,,
  2. Small taters. I heard Pegs is negotiating with PA to buy Harrisburg and move it to Canalside...
  3. My first thought was, "define band." If "band" means playing live and entertaining, then it's the Stones hands down. If it means composing, arranging and creating timeless art, then the Fab Four get the nod. The beauty of it all is, we can have our cake and eat it too. No need to pick sides...
  4. Yeah, but consider the source...
  5. What are you asking for it?
  6. I like those FA targets. The off season is pretty 'on' this year....
  7. Indeed. The guy's a film producer with good family connections... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Cosell
  8. Pegs can pick up the FAs at the airport in his Bentley....
  9. He had 1,100+ yards in his last 12 games (96 yards per game, 4.6 per carry). If he can simply match that in Buffalo, we come out way ahead IMO....
  10. Promises, promises. Guys like him always stick around....
  11. http://www.startribune.com/sports/blogs/294032921.html Perspective on Cassel as a backup....
  12. Makes perfect sense now... http://www.theonion.com/articles/vikings-intrigued-by-matt-cassels-ability-to-get-t,36807/
  13. That's the way I read it as well. "Restructure to give him more guaranteed money...and we'll have a deal."
  14. Chip is walking a highwire here. If he doesn't get production at QB this year he has nothing to fall back on. And the Philly media will eat him alive...
  15. Agreed. I was hoping for Ingram...but this is a much bigger upgrade, without getting into an auction for Murray or AP.
  16. Nice, balanced analysis by Peter King: http://mmqb.si.com/2015/03/04/lesean-mccoy-kiko-alonso-bills-eagles-trade-nfl/ Rex Ryan, who wants to play a ground-and-pound style of offense, gets one of the five best runners in football. And the Bills suddenly become less fearful of an offense without a franchise quarterback.
  17. If the worry is about RBs hitting the wall, AP has had nearly 600 more carrer carries than Shady. Peterson's got a lot less tread and will turn 30 later this month.
  18. Decline? In games 5-17 last year he had the second most yards in the league. That doesn't sound like decline to me...
  19. Wow, I don't see that at all. This is another 'big balls' move by Whaley in the mold of the Watkins trade. Doug wants to win NOW, and he's going all in...
  20. Boy, that will teach me to not buy the Southwest wifi when I'm traveling. Initial reaction is positive. Not too often you get a shot at a multi-All Pro RB with tread still on the tires for a good-but-not great LB straight up. With three more years on an expensive but manageable contract to boot. The rest of the cap budget has to go to OL help, but if Mario restructures, we might be able to add a TE and some complimentary pieces. This could be really interesting. The only downside I see is that I've already used up my 16-pages of 'ignore users' and have nowhere to put anymore...which, after reading just the first three pages of this thread is a BIG problem. Come on SDS, we really have to expand this limit to 30 or so pages.....
  21. There's a misconception that the Buffalo Billion was for the city of Buffalo...it was not, it was a regional award (of which less than $300 million has actually been received to date). As the second largest city/region in NYS, the reason for the award is obvious, IMO. The Rochester / Finger Lakes region will assuredly receive one of the $500 million slugs from the $1.5 billion competition in July. And I expect Syracuse / Central New York and Binghamton / Southern Tier will win the other two. The upstate cities are held hostage by their abysmal public school systems. Until that fact changes, they will continue to be mired in poverty...
  22. I'm talking about the metro area. Cities are irrelevent to the NFL.... Still, if you want to compare horse apples to horse apples: http://www.city-data.com/top2/c3.html
  23. Absolutely not. It's taken a hit from Kodak but is still outperforming the Buffalo metro area on a number of metrics...
  24. I'd guess more mental and experience than physical...
