  1. I'll repeat what I said in another thread. I thought Timmy was now a features guy. So why is he tweeting this stuff (ant that's what I consider it) and not Vic? Come on, TG, pull the plug and get on with it...
  2. My head hurts with all of this roster building stuff. I've been on vacation in Florida this week and I'm glued to the laptop beside the pool. Doh! It's just another thing we'll have to get used to as Bills fans, I guess....
  3. I agrred with your initial assessment. If it prevents them from doing something, then you hold your nose and do it. But if it's just moving dollars around, then Fred's still worth keeping Here's quote from Peter King's MMQB today that could apply to Freddie, IMO... “I’ll forever cherish being able to play with Reggie. It was an honor and a privilege to share a locker room with him. He taught me more about football than any other player I’ve ever been around.” — Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, in remarks to the Indianapolis Star, after the team cut Reggie Wayne.
  4. If the FO saw this as just a money decision, I'm sure Pegs had to remind them that money does't matter anymore. Whaley and Rex may have to be 'reprogramed' to that approach after years of working for other NFL owners...
  5. I don't see Brown factoring into this at all. More likely, it's a "you want to dump Fredie for Bilal effen Powell? Why swap a dollar for a buck?"
  6. That's a beaut...
  7. But Freedie's far from watched up! IMO, he can still provide a great deal of value to this team as a pass blocking thrid down specialist or even if he's inactive on Sunday's and is just leading by example during the week. He'd be a great utility guy for another year. And then you can find a Bilal Powell or any other dime-a-dozen replacement in 2016...
  8. I'd really like that move as well, but I guess Britt has a really strong desire to re-up with Jeff Fisher...
  9. I'm not arguing that Freddie's not a role player at this stage of his career. But with his smarts and passion, I see him as an important contributor to the team in whatever diminished capacity he's employed. Sometime in 2015 Freddie is going to help whatever team he's playing for win a big game. I'd like that team to be the Bills...
  10. Take solace in the fact that he probably earns enough to keep him in his parents basement...
  11. Of course. But dollars to doughnuts, he's better than Bilal Powell, even if it costs them an extra $2 million in salary differential...
  12. https://twitter.com/mattbarrows Not true. He's retracted it already...
  13. You realize he had a 4-5 week injury that only kept him out two weeks, right? Snap judgements are all the rage in this 24/7 media cycle world. They're right about 50% of the time as well...
  14. That still seems extreme to me. We can't judge Fred on his last eight games, when he was clearly playing hurt during a playoff push (and even then, still ahead of Brown on the depth chart). He looked good before the injury (averaging 4.3 ypc) and I'd expect him to have another year like that in the tank for 2015. If it's about being a third down pass blocking specialist, I can't think of anyone better to play that role...
  15. The question about Fred's future with the team should be answered at SJF. Not with an off-season "see ya" when he has no guaranteed money forthcoming to tie up the salary cap...
  16. No question Freddie's production took a hit after he rushed back from his groin to help a depleted RB corps. But if Rex watched his first seven games, he saw a guy averaging 4.3 ypc that looked a lot like the Action Jackson of the past few years. Also, if Fred was in such 'decline,' how come he got 86 carries after he returned (3.3 ypc) to 35 for Brown (3.5 ypc)?
  17. To put that in perspective, he had a total of 33 carries last year...with no more than 5 in any game.
  18. My brother and I were debating that photo. To us, it looks like Kim has had quite a transformation in the past year... http://www.buffalonews.com/storyimage/BN/20130413/CITYANDREGION/130419543/AR/0/AR-130419543.jpg&maxW=602&maxH=602&AlignV=top&Q=80
  19. Yep, his one and only 100 yard game... http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/P/PoweBi00/gamelog/
  20. Freddie averaged 10+ ypc that day (72 yards on 7 carries)...
  21. Agree with that description of Powell. Freddie before the groin injury was not a JAG. And with a full off season of rehab, I'd think he wouldn't be one at training camp this year...
  22. What's up with the Timmy tweets? I thought he was a features guy now and not on the Bills beat. Media whore...
  23. Smells highly fishy to me. He's on the last year of a contract with no guaranteed money for 2015. No need to do this now and in such a classless manner. Let him come to camp and compete. If he can't beat out Powell, then so be it. But I believe a fully-healed Freddie at $2.7 million has a lot to offer this team in 2015

  25. Connections and knowledge can be mutually exclusive. In this case, I'm starting to think that's becoming increasingly apparent...
