  1. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/rolling-stones-plan-summer-tour-sticky-fingers-reissue-20150331 "UPDATE: Mick Jagger tells Rolling Stone that the group is considering playing the entirety of Sticky Fingers on its upcoming tour."
  2. Way too cluttered. On the other hand, one less site I'll be regularly visiting...
  3. "Rex Ryan likes talent on Bills' offensive line" Vic's article is well-timed for the April 1 edition...
  4. Unless they're going to trade up to the top of the 2nd round, it's all moot. No way he lasts to 50...
  5. How about..."putting our best foot forward." I'm sure Rex would be on board with that....
  6. I think Daryl Williams OT from Oklahoma would be a good guard prospect. He's more athletic than the true guards like Cann and Tomlinson yet probably not nimble enough to play OT at the next level. He'd be a good get with their 3rd round pick... http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1737524/daryl-williams http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/daryl-williams?id=2552357 http://www.bigblueview.com/2015-nfl-draft/2015/3/28/8212341/2015-nfl-draft-daryl-williams-ot-oklahoma-scouting-report
  7. That's the way college football was played back in the '80s. It seems like high button shoes and buggy whips today, with underclassmen actually starting from day one and juniors leaving early. Sanders was a top-5 all-time RB, even better than Thurman in the pros. But he had to wait his turn behind a two time All-American while at OSU...
  8. Well, since E.J. is getting released this spring, it shouldn't be a problem...
  9. Jim Ritcher was one of my all-time favorite Bills. Quite a remarkable post-football career as well... https://www.nflplayerengagement.com/next/articles/where-are-they-now-%E2%80%93-jim-ritcher/
  10. The power of marketing. O.J. coined the term and it stuck. But man for man, the lines TT ran behind were superior to the Electric Company. Joe D was great, Reggie was above average but the other guys were just good, not great. Will Wolford, Jim Ritcher, Kent Hull, John Davis/GlennParker and Howard Ballard were one hell of a line...
  11. It's possible, since he'll never be better than third on the depth chart. Cutting him after June 1 would save $1.1 million with minimal dead money. But I think Boobie would be a nice change of pace option ("Thunder") to Shady ("Lightning") and Fred ("Steady Freddie") and/or Brown (???) if he somehow sticks around...
  12. I agree with you on OT. My best case scenario would be Jake Fisher or D.J. Humphries at 50 and trading pick 81 for Evans. That would be a great mix of veteran leadership and young developmental types. I'm drifting away from Cann and Tomilinson as they don't seem to have the athleticism / movement skills I think Roman's offense requires.
  13. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/ Chris Williams - June 1st cut ($3.35 million cap space, $1.4 million dead money) Matt Cassel - restructure to a two-year contract (reduce $4.75 million cap hit for 2015) Also, maybe do something with Eric Wood's contract ($6.7 million cap hit for 2015) or Manny Lawson (I know we need LBs, but this is where a younger guy at pick 50 could be a better use of money, IMO).
  14. Yes, I would. He's got 2-3 years left at a high level of play (not Pro Bowl, but very good) and would add a veteran presence to the line that would be very valuable, IMO.
  15. And yet OJ still did what he did. IMO, there are only 4-5 RBs in NFL history that could overcome those odds week after week (Brown, OJ, Saunders, Sayers, Campbell). Aside from Joe D and Reggie, none of the Electric Company ever made a Pro Bowl, let alone All Pro. They were good NFL players, nothing more. To say that OJ needed the Electric Company is an overstatement, IMO. I love Thurman, but he wasn't OJ. Stats can't do justice to either guy, but consider the following from five year runs when they were in their prime: 1972-76, Simpson: 1,513 carries, 7,699 yards, 5.1 YPC, 45 rushing TDs, 98 receptions, 11.7 YPC, 9 receiving TDs 1989-93, Thomas: 1,524 carries, 6,750 yards, 4.4 YPC, 15 rushing TDs, 277 receptions, 10.3 YPC, 16 receiving TDs Yes, Thurman was a better receiver. But from 72-76, the Bills only averaged 18 pass attempts per game, vs. 29 from 89-93. I wonder what Simpson's receiving stats would have been if he played with Kelly (61% completion rate) rather than Shaw and Ferguson (51%). Oh well, thanks for the memories to both guys...
  16. Amazing guy. 122 game career, never missed a start. At 232 pounds he was nearly as big as his lineman...
  17. I went back ten years and the tallest All Pro OG was 6'5". Probably could go back further, but then you start to get into different eras. The tallest two OGs that made the Pro Bowl (which is just a popularity contest) were 6'6". A tall guy can do it (I gave the example of Alex Boone), but a shorter guy in the 6'4" range is going to have an easier time inside and will--all things being equal--probably do a better job. Of course with the Bills line, this is probably moot as it wouldn't take much to upgrade last year's OG play...
  18. That's correct, IMO. But only because the draftnick guys who were wildly off at the beginning of the process start to hone in on what teams are are actually thinking (and sort of triangulate better on the real draft ratings that teams have as they build their boards). By the time draft day rolls around, the Kipers of the world are pretty much on target and everyone thinks they're savvy gurus. Rinse and repeat enough and you can build a career out of it--sort of like political analysis or fashion reporting. I miss Joel Buchsbaum more and more with each passing year...
  19. With Dennis Shaw and a rookie Joe Ferguson, that was a good move. Fergy didn't give them a real passing threat until '75, well into OJ's run...
  20. The amazing thing about OJ was that for a guy 6'2' 212lb he had the ability to turn on the jets with world class speed. http://articles.latimes.com/1987-06-17/sports/sp-4512_1_years-ago-today Love me some Thurman, but if OJ played on the Bills Super Bowl teams, I think we'd be talking about one for the thumb and not 0-4....
  21. Sorry. My mistake. It was only 17...in this thread. I guess it just seems like dozens and dozens....
  22. He had a bit of troble with Hau'oli Kikaha in the Washingon game, but then who didn't (he's be an intriguing OLB pick as well at 50 and could get mentored by Manny Lawson, IMO) http://www.buffalobillsdraft.com/2015/01/2015-nfl-draft-prospect-to-watch-jake-fisher-ot-oregon/
