  1. Man, the folks who want to tie up close to $30 million in cap space on LBs ($13MM for Kwon, $13MM for Milano after his new deal, $3.5 MM for Edmunds--who's also in line for big bucks after next year) AND add an $18 million DE (Ford) seem like they might better stick to Madden...
  2. Somewhere, Arnold Ziffel is crying...
  3. As many people say, the greatest ability is availability. Alexander 56.3% game played percentage has to be balanced against Milano's 87.5% availability...
  4. IMO, columnists are most interesting when they're curious and include information / insights they learn from people they interview. Sully's downfall (to me) was that it was always just his closed loop opinion--I never learned anything new or got a new perspective I didn't have before. And BTW, I think he can write--he's just lazy / cynical and choses to phone it in too many times...
  5. Can't be Sully. It has actual interviews in it...
  6. Why? Now we'll compare our variables and Milano statistically over the two seasons prior to their signing. In this case we're analyzing: Games Played %, Tackles, Sacks, Stops, Coverage Catch %, Hurries, Rating PLAYER GP% TKL/GM SACKS/GM STOPS COV CATCH% HURRIES RATING MEDIAN PRIME % CHANGE 2.45% AVERAGE PRIME % CHANGE -1.18% Jaylon Smith2017-2018, DAL 100 4.13 0.16 2.19 77.8 0.34 75.85 Anthony Barr2017-2018, MIN 90.63 3.14 0.14 2 78.2 0.9 71.45 Shaq Thompson2017-2018, CAR 87.5 3.25 0.2 1.89 82.9 0.57 66.25 Kwon Alexander 2017-2018, SF 56.3 5.78 0.06 3.67 90.9 0.78 62.3 AVERAGE 83.60 4.08 0.14 2.44 82.45 0.65 68.96 Matt Milano 2018-2019 87.5 4.18 0.09 2.79 69.4 0.57 70.65 % CHANGE 4.67% 2.45% -35.71% 14.34% 15.83% -12.31% 2.45%

  8. IMO, only 2-3 LBs in the league are worth $16 million-plus cap hits. He's not one of them...
  9. That's one hell of a cap hit for a LB.... https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/kwon-alexander-16850/
  10. https://arrowheadaddict.com/2020/04/20/dee-ford-trade-rumors-chiefs-49ers-brett-veach-was-right/ San Francisco took a big risk in signing Ford, who had proven to be an effective pass rusher when available, but who was unable to stay healthy for long periods of time. The only seasons the defensive end was able to play in all 16 games came in 2015 and 2018. He missed 10 games in 2017 with nagging and recurring back injuries, and in his lone year with the 49ers, Ford was again hampered by injury. He played in only 11 regular season games while nursing a hamstring injury most of the year. He has been largely ineffective as a pass rusher in the playoffs throughout his career, too, logging only 2.5 sacks in eight career playoff games, including one in the 2019 playoffs.
  11. Roboman. Do you have an Athletic subscription? TG gave Kim a full interview, allowing her to go on record and explain her side. I thought that was quite remarkable, actually. How often do you get to see a real time rebuttal or response like this? It's not one sided at all, IMO...
  12. It tells me that people fear for their jobs (or careers, even if they don't work there anymore). I can't believe I even had to type that...
  13. Nope. I didn't want to tax those that have made up their minds and gave just three examples...
  14. Its sad that people have chosen to blame "the media" if they don't confirm their already held positions. Cognitative disonance is a b-word...
  15. I realize that not everyone has access to the article, but it's not just ex-employees who talked to Timmeh... "The Athletic interviewed 39 current and former full-time employees by telephone, text and verified direct message...." “I used to feel proud to tell people I worked for PSE,” said a current employee. “Then there was a point I just had to force a smile when talking about my job. Now, when people ask me about openings, I tell them not to apply.” “We always say winning fixes everything,” a current PSE employee said. “And I’m sure if the Sabres were successful some of these issues would be less infuriating on the surface." “I remember being underwhelmed,” said a current Sabres employee.
  16. Pegs sold his original energy assets (East Resources) in 2010 What he does today is gentleman farmer drilling. His exploration "firm" has 20 employees. That's not going to put much food on the table (or gas in the yacht)...
  17. Agreed. In my experience, people get most annoyed when their preconceptions and world view are challenged...
  18. IDK. Pegs energy investments are more the hobby-type than a livelihood issue. https://buffalonews.com/2017/09/24/deep-hills-pennsylvania-terry-pegulas-world/ "...So in the past two years, he expanded the drilling and development work of JKLM Energy LLC, a closely held company named for his children. Pegula’s company is intentionally small to keep it nimble and avoid the bureaucratic obstacles of larger gas companies. He employs about 20 people at its headquarters near Pittsburgh. Among the executives is one of Pegula’s daughters, Laura Pegula, a geologist."
  19. Nah, Kahn can stay in Jacksonville. I hear the beaches are open, so he should go for a nice walk...
  20. Lol! Lucky sperm club vs. luck genetics club. Fire up the popcorn maker...
