Mel Kiper Mocks — 1.0 DT Rashan Gary 2.0 DK Metcalf
Lurker replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No offense, but highlights against Rice, ESU and Navy are worth next to nothing. Arizona was 5-7 and playing backup OL in that game (the announcers even commented on it). That's why the draft is such a crap shoot, IMO. Quality of competition matters significantly and a guy who dominates inferior opponents may look better than he really is. I hope the Bills scouting staff can see the projectables a guy like Oliver has vs. 330 lbs NFL guards and centers... -
A #9 DT has to be more than a one-trick pony. IMO, he'd be a liability on the inside running game with his lack of strength/anchor. Shooting gaps looks great...unless it's the wrong gap and you get gashed up the middle, which has been a problem for this team for far too long.

https://www.profootballhof.com/football-history/trick-or-trade/ TRADED Greg Bell, RB No. 1 – 1988 No. 1 – 1989 No. 2 – 1989 RECEIVED Rights to Cornelius Bennett, LB Bennett then agreed to a five-year deal worth $4 million, including a bonus of $1.5 milllion--the highest (at that time) for an OLB. -

Clark is by no means a castoff. The Seahawks would love to keep him but have to pay the price for drafting well and having an elite QB. If Beane thinks the Bills are ready to win now, I can see him very easily changing the MO we've seen so far--when the "process" wasn't about winning, but building a culture and foundation. Not much different than Polian's trade for Biscuit. He was a build through the draft guy as well, until he had his core in place and wasn't. -

TRADE: The Buffalo Bills trade Trent Murphy and their 2020 2nd round pick to the Seahawks for Frank Clark.

Sad to see this thread becoming another PPP debacle...

Would you make this trade with the Raiders?
Lurker replied to Bakin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. #24 and #35 alone are almost worth #9. The 2020 pick is gravy. Then package something to get back into the top half of round one. -

From the Athletic story on Mittelstadt this week looking at how other players developed as a way to gauge his likely progress: https://theathletic.com/930356/2019/04/18/forward-look-whats-a-reasonable-expectation-for-casey-mittelstadts-second-full-nhl-season/ If those comparisons continue into Mittelstadt’s sophomore season, Sabres fans may want to prepare to be disappointed. Jokinen, the No. 3 overall draft pick in 1997, didn’t excel until his fifth season in the NHL at age 24. Jokinen is hardly unique. Here are four other centers who were within .01 points per game of Mittelstadt during their 19-year-old season and how long it took them to blossom into top-line talent. Name Season Age Ryan O’Reilly 3rd 21 Ryan Johansen 3rd 21 Mike Fisher 6th 25 Sean Couturier 7th 25

April Movies: Avengers, Shazam!, Hellboy, & Pet Sematary
Lurker replied to Mark Vader's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Per Wiki (sounds like a cluster-f from the start): In 2014, Hellboy creator Mike Mignola began work with writer Andrew Cosby on the story for a new film. The project was initially intended as a sequel to Guillermo del Toro's films Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army, which starred Ron Perlman as the title character. Del Toro was offered a producer credit, but declined, wishing instead to direct his own script for Hellboy III, and Perlman refused to return without del Toro's involvement. When Neil Marshall joined, it was decided that the new film would instead be a reboot.[17] -
That's the biggest strike I see against the Bills taking Metcalf at #9. They can't wait for him to become a NFL WR. They need instant production and an immediate difference maker, as the pressure to make the playoffs will be intense. If it's not DL (or a trade down if the guy they want at nine is gone), I'll eat my hat...
