  1. "He can only play guard in the NFL..."
  2. Don't like either Bills pick, but appreciate the work that went into this. Contribute/Win Now, Baby--Not in Two Years!....
  3. ROR and Kane were traded and (as far as I know) didn't have a say in where they went. Lehner was lucky to find another job after his meltdown. The fact that they're having success now doesn't have anything to do with the Sabres situation, IMO. Murray screwed the pooch in rebuilding the roster after the tank. That's the mess that Botts is now trying to clean up. As a first-time GM, he's been tentative for the most part--but I expect him to be more aggressive this summer, as his job is now on the line. They need more talent to build a more balanced roster. Period. Full stop. I think we're in agreement on that. IMO, elevating guys like Olofsson and even Pilut to the big club this year wouldn't have helped. After watching them disappear in the Amerks series with Toronto, it's apparent (to me) that they need to work on their strength and understanding of North American PLAYOFF hockey. Same for Tage Thompson. A big reason the Sabres flamed out in the second half of the year was their lack of physical presence. Other teams were gearing up for the playoff battles and this (soft) roster couldn't match that intensity / level of compete...
  4. IMO, Quenneville was always ticketed for the Panthers job due to his strong relationship with Dale Tallon. Taking a year off, going to a warm weather state with low taxes and the opportunity to rebuild by signing FA's like Panarin and Bobrovsky were other key factors.
  5. I can't believe this thread is still open...
  6. One of the All-Time worst Bills picks, for sure....
  7. He was projected as a first rounder. And his profile was pretty accurate as to who he was: http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/profiles/shaq-lawson?id=2555252
  8. Indiana! The Penn State cheerleading squad probably has more talent / speed than the Hoosiers football team...
  9. Fixed. At 26 when training camp starts, Clark's career is still rising. Houston's definitely headed downhill and Ford at 28 years old is sure to get there more quickly than Clark...
  10. That's why the Ignore User feature is so wonderful...
  11. Isn't Clark almost 3 years younger? To have equivalent stats means he's been a lot more available than Ford over his career: Clark: June 14, 1993 (age 25 years) Ford: March 19, 1991 (age 28 years)
  12. A great pass rush solves a lot of secondary problems...
  13. Wow! Ohio doesn't pay its school superintendents much...
  14. I think we'll start to see the FO and coaching staff pivot away from "massive gambles." Expectations have been raised and these guys are in "win now" mode with both the fans and probably ownership. The top pick will be an immediate contributor, IMO. Not a 'potential' for a couple of years down the road...
  15. Don't watch much TV and would never pay for HBO or similar services...
  16. Yeah, he's out of the top 10 for sure. Not a good look for a guy who already has questions about motivation and dedication to the game...
  17. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/easter-bunny-throws-punches-orlando-brawl-caught-video-n997156 "In moments immediately after the fight broke up, police initially thought the whole brouhaha had been staged. "The officer came up to me and said, 'If you do that again I'm going to arrest you and the damned bunny suit,'" McDonald recalled. But eventually police came to understand that McDonald was just a good Samaritan. "The cops broke them up, they shook the hand of the guy in the bunny suit and let him go," Manes, 28, said. "He was just partying, enjoying his Easter Sunday." Sgt. David Baker, an Orlando police spokesman, confirmed that the fight happened at about 10:30 p.m. and that no one was arrested.
  18. "Rashan Gary whose started his Own Agency" In a tweet about a low Wonderlic score? Chad must be going for a Darwin award...
  19. Fairburn's mock in today's Athletic... Round 3, Pick 74 Chase Winovich, defensive end, Michigan The Bills still need long-term help at defensive end. Shaq Lawson and Jerry Hughes are both entering contract years, while Trent Murphy remains a question mark due to injuries. Chase Winovich performed well at the combine, showing that his athletic traits match the impressive production he had at Michigan. Depending on how the Bills view him, he could either play defensive end or the SAM linebacker role currently occupied by Lorenzo Alexander.
  20. I can't believe this thread is still alive...
  21. That looks just like Ullmark last year. Poor / soft defensive zone play looks similar as well. 2018 AHL Playoffs Name Team GP Min GA SO GAA W L SVS SA SV% 1 Linus Ullmark RCH 3 174:32 16 0 5.50 0 3 64 80 0.800 Empty Net 3 5:28 2 21.95 2 Totals 3 180:00 18 0 6.00 0 3 64 82 0.780
  22. That may apply 98% of the time to the rubes and Rodaks of the world--but McGinn's the 2% exception to the rule. He's a bonafide legend and probably the best guy in the business for getting scouts to spill the real beans off the record. Are some still blowing smoke up his chimney? Probably, but he's savvy enough to know when that's happening...
  23. Escape hatch to Russia if the IRS comes calling...
  24. Exactly. I'd bet the injuries that do occur have more to do with the cold than the composition of the turf. This comparison would have to be weather-adjusted to be conclusive. Hitting a frozen field is way more painful / dangerous than when it's not.
  25. The guaranteed money is all that matters, IMO, not the contract length. I agree that he's being overrated, but that's what TSW does (just like MBs for other teams). The new girl is always prettier, until you get to know her...
