I'm sure he'll be lobbying for the ball, like all WRs. But I hope he's also talking to Allen about what the WR is doing/thinking/reacting to when they watch the other guys run routes. Having a veteran WR constantly in his ear giving him 'master class' insight into WR play is a good thing for his development curve...

1966 Article About The Rolling Stones
Lurker replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in Off the Wall Archives
LOL! I can't think of a U.S. city less ready for the Stones in 1966 than Houston. That article read like it was written by a 50-something general news reporter rather than a younger, more up-to-date music critic (which, come to think of it, probably didn't exist back in the day on a paper like the Chronicle)... -

Tesla retaliates against whistlebowers and unionized workers
Lurker replied to stuvian's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I always think "I'm working for myself" even when I have an employer. You're ultimately your own boss if you have marketable skills and a willingness to embrace a "You Incorporated" career path. Talent gives you freedom to choose where, when, how, etc. Especially in a sub-4% unemployment world. If you're talented and don't like your boss, leave. It will work out fine... -

https://theathletic.com/1003253/2019/05/31/ryan-oreillys-unique-approach-to-the-game-began-long-before-the-nhl/ “It’s been an absolute rollercoaster. Throughout the whole thing,” O’Reilly said. “It’s crazy how one year can change so dramatically. Being so disappointed. And not thinking I was going to be traded at all. Sitting there at the end of the year thinking how do I be a part of this change? Thinking I’ve got to do some things different in order to get this group in the right way. Next thing you know I hear I’m kind of on the block and then I’m traded.”

https://buffalonews.com/2019/06/12/st-louis-blues-stanley-cup-ryan-oreilly-nhl-jordan-binnington/ O'Reilly never wanted to be traded when he said he had lost his passion for the game. He told TSN that last year at the World Championships, saying he was looking forward to playing with Rasmus Dahlin. His father reiterated the point on the Garden ice Wednesday night. "His comment about being complacent with losing and we have a culture where we're not doing the hard work was what he believed," Brian O'Reilly said. "We've always told our kids if you want to find the truth, you've got to remove and point out what's false. And he pointed out the falsehood. There are false things and he called them out. "He had no intention of leaving. He wanted to stay there and build it. But once something leaves your mouth, people pick up anything they want from it and make it into anything they want. I guess that's what happened. We love Buffalo. I have the greatest respect for Terry (owner Terry Pegula). They treated him so well. I love the city. It was so nice to drive three hours and go to games. We were happy there. But they decided to move on."

Define sulk. He showed up night after night for 81 games. He had over 200+ more minutes of ice time than any other forward. He had the second best scoring year of his career and was the Sabres go-to guy in every critical faceoff or defensive zone matchup. And perogative is to ignore people who make up **** like these kind of posts... Still deflecting I see...
-
So, what about your hot take that ROR "packed it in?" Huh? Don't deflect the issue by pointing in another direction from what you wrote. We get enough of that **** from the tool in the WH...
-
Idiotic hot take. This fiction that ROR packed anything in in his final year tells me how stupid a segment of the fanbase is. Look at those stats I posted above. 24 goals, 61 points (3 off the team lead), 15 PP goals (team lead), 1,686 minutes of ice time (highest of any forward), 1,273 faceoff wins (60%), voted second for the Byng, 11th for the Selke. Those numbers were among the best of his career and only marginally less than what he put up this year in St. Louis with better talent supporting him.

"Having NHL in places like Florida is a joke. Down there, they think "icing" is what you put on your 13 year old daughter's baby shower cake. "Forechecking" is what happens when your latest mortgage check bounces yet again and your lender takes your double wide. "off sides" is when your pit bull crosses into your neighbors yard and chews the face off their infant son." Yeah. Something obvious, anyway...
