I always think "I'm working for myself" even when I have an employer. You're ultimately your own boss if you have marketable skills and a willingness to embrace a "You Incorporated" career path. Talent gives you freedom to choose where, when, how, etc. Especially in a sub-4% unemployment world. If you're talented and don't like your boss, leave. It will work out fine...

Idiotic hot take. This fiction that ROR packed anything in in his final year tells me how stupid a segment of the fanbase is. Look at those stats I posted above. 24 goals, 61 points (3 off the team lead), 15 PP goals (team lead), 1,686 minutes of ice time (highest of any forward), 1,273 faceoff wins (60%), voted second for the Byng, 11th for the Selke. Those numbers were among the best of his career and only marginally less than what he put up this year in St. Louis with better talent supporting him.
