Neal still has practice squad eligibility. He might be the guy waived if they resign Captain in week 2...

Cap room being used to stash practice squad players?
Lurker replied to TheFunPolice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-practice-squad-salaries-minimum-salary-rules-2019/s1etl9lhnidk1ttazzs8tsrzx Practice squad players in 2019 can earn a minimum of $8,000 per week during the regular season and postseason, per the current CBA, but there is no cap on the amount practice squad players can receive. -

Zay's still here...
-
So, no other comparisons that people can think of?...
-
At least until they sign Captain back in week 2!!
-
Absolutely. But has this ever worked to this magnitude for any other team? That's my question...
-
And Belichick's had good teams for the past decade. Makes that tactic a lot easier to implement...
-
New here? That's always how TSW's rolled...
-
I guess it makes sense but as a player I'd be a little pissed that they'd play that card. Better than having no job, but then again... Also, who would get cut to make room for him? Maybe someone the're trying to stash on the PS?

Not sure this is thread-worthy but it strikes me as amazing that there will be 7-8 new starters on offense this year, including all but one skill position ( I guess Zay would make two if he sticks, although classifying him as skilled is a stretch IMO ). Has any playoff-caliber (we hope!) team ever had so much turnover going into a season?

And one dimensional...

LOL! I love how this information filters out...

Same here. And I expect Shady to be really, really motivated, like he was when he fist came here...
-
Six million reasons for that...
-
Wow, din't see that....
-
Not if they keep a fourth RB like Perry. As much as Shady's lost a step, his 2019 contribution would have been significantly more valuable than 10-11 special teams tackles...
-
The question I'd like answered is is what are they going to do with that $6 million cap savings? Are they just going to sit on it or is there another shoe to drop...
-
I always suspected that the Gore signing was intended to be a motivator for Shady, given their close relationship. Ironic that it ended up costing McCoy his job. This is certainly another "big balls" Beane move. Not sure Gore has more than 10 carries a game left in him. And he's never played for a cold weather team, so it will be interesting to see his effectiveness in December and January. Given who he is, I suspect he'll be fine. But until we see it...

His 10 special teams tackles this year will be really invaluable...

Houston makes the most sense, but do they have the cap room?
-
That's a fun video. It's a business, but the joy expressed by so many of those guys also shows how cool team sports can be...

Huh. I always thought that was one guy with three handles talking to himself....
