Noah Spence, Treadwell headline visits today
Lurker replied to PirateHookerMD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Athletes aren't that hard to find at this level. The mental (and instinctual) aspect has to be there as well. Treadwell and Jackson seem to be deficient in that regard, and probably Spence as well... -

Whoa. Johnson runs a 4.34 40, just 0.03 off the fastest time recorded.at the combine (which he wasn't invited to). Seems like he's not just a fast track guy playing football either. Interesting... "At the 2019 NFL Combine, the fastest 40-yard dash time clocked in at 4.31 seconds ran by Parris Cambell — now a member of the Indianapolis Colts. Johnson runs a 4.34, putting his 40-yard dash time as the fifth-fastest time in this year’s class of rookies. Additionally, Scott Wright of ‘The Oklahoman’ reported that Johnson did not drop a single catchable pass at his pro day." https://torotimes.com/2019/08/12/houston-texans-tyron-johnson-making-strong-case-for-roster-spot/ -
Gee, he doesn't sound like a team-first "process" guy in that article...or in this one: https://packerswire.usatoday.com/2019/08/27/packers-gm-explains-decision-to-release-s-josh-jones/ "Sunday’s release provided an anticlimactic end to a two-year stint in Green Bay that saw Jones flash impressive playmaking ability but also frustrate coaches with an inability to handle the safety role and a disinterest in playing linebacker." "Often, when a disappointing player without a role becomes a potential distraction, the player is removed. That’s exactly what happened with Jones in Green Bay."

QB Davis Webb - Meet Bills New #3 QB
Lurker replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not much of a head though. System QB in college and a whole lot of "meh" in the NFL. If all we want is a scout team QB, however, he'll do just fine... -

Not a ringing endorsement... https://thevikingage.com/2019/08/30/minnesota-vikings-final-53-man-projection-2019/10/ That leaves both incumbents keeping their jobs as Dan Bailey will resume his duties as kicker and Matt Wile will remain the Vikings’ punter. Both might be enough to make Minnesota fans and Mike Zimmer sick by the time the calendar hits October, but there just aren’t many alternatives. https://thevikingage.com/2019/09/01/minnesota-vikings-add-colquitt-cut-wile/ After the Vikings claimed him off of the waiver wire shortly before the start of last season, the 27-year-old punter had a decent campaign during his lone year in purple and gold. In addition to his punting duties, Wile was given the role as Minnesota’s holder on field goal and extra point attempts in 2018. He wasn’t the best holder in the world last season and the Vikings spent a good portion of this summer attempting to find someone different for the job. Minnesota’s newest punter, Colquitt, actually has multiple years of holding experience at the NFL level and he has been described as, “a great holder,” according to the Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2019/09/vikings-to-sign-britton-colquitt-cut-matt-wile A Michigan product, Wile entered the league as an undrafted free agent back in 2015. Four games split between the Cardinals and Falcons in 2016 had been his only regular season action, until he won the Vikings’ job last year. He punted in all 16 games for Minnesota in 2018, but clearly didn’t make that strong of an impression.

Two of his 5 punts were to pin the other team inside the 20, hence the lower averages. I like Anger as well, but he's always played for warm weather teams, so that might be a concern...

Sign Luke Falk to get the Jets playbook... -
Preseason 1: 2 punts for 47.5 gross average, 43.5 net Preseason 2: 3 punts for 42.3 gross, 42.3 net with 2 inside the 20 Sounds pretty good to me...
