Israeli Elections
truth on hold replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Why it's time for Obama to cut off America's subsidies to Israel Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's come-from-behind re-election victory this week, fueled by an overt embrace of apartheid policy and racist fear-mongering about Arab voters, has put the United States in a difficult situation. So long as Netanyahu pretended that he was committed to democratic values and a two-state solution, the Americans could look the other way or blame Palestinian intransigence for a lack of progress. Now that the Iraq and Afghanistan wars are winding down, Israel has reclaimed its spot as top recipient of American aid dollars. In the 2015 budget, the Obama administration has requested (and will almost certainly receive) $3.1 billion in aid to Israel, or $378.33 per Israeli citizen. As Matt Yglesias shows, on a per-capita basis, this is six times what Afghanistan gets as the second-largest recipient, and 94 times what Nigeria gets as the fifth-largest. It's a mark of Israel's massive influence in American politics that it keeps getting that money despite the fact that foreign aid is consistently the least popular kind of government spending — and doubly so because Israel is a rich country that plainly needs no aid. If Israel doesn't want to end up as a crumbling pariah police state, like South Africa under John Vorster, then the way forward is clear: negotiate a fair and lasting peace with the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. Until that happens, America should treat Israel as it really is, not the ally committed to humane, democratic values that it pretends to be. http://theweek.com/articles/545294/why-time-obama-cut-americas-subsidies-israel -

Israeli Elections

Interesting take on things.... Netanyahus Win Is Good for Palestine Mr. Netanyahus re-election has convincingly proved that trusting Israeli voters with the fate of Palestinian rights is disastrous and immoral. His government will oppose any constructive change, placing Israel on a collision course with the rest of the world. And this collision has never been more necessary. The election results will further galvanize the movement seeking to isolate Israel internationally. B.D.S. campaigns will grow, and more countries will move toward imposing sanctions to change Israeli behavior. In the past few years, a major Dutch pension fund divested large sums from Israeli banks active in the West Bank, and hundreds of millions of dollars have been divested from companies, like G4S and SodaStream, that operate in occupied territory. There wont be real change on the ground or at the polls without further pressure on Israel. And now, that pressure will increase. For this, we have Mr. Netanyahu to thank. http://mobile.nytimes.com/2015/03/19/opinion/netanyahus-win-is-good-for-palestine.html?referrer= -
Oh gee, if frank gaffney says so it must be true! Rolling out list of usual kooks and propagandists. All we need is Judith miller to pen another "smoking gun" article to ratify it...lol

Anyone catch Brandon Spikes on NFL AM?
truth on hold replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The issue is that Rex likes to run a defense that keeps the offense guessing. He needs versatile players for that. With spikes on the field it dictates to the offense he won't be dropping back into coverage, and we're in run stop formation -
Eagles looking to trade Barkley to make room for Tebow
truth on hold replied to BobbyC81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We drafted Levi brown rd7 2010, so pretty much a push if we re-sign and trade him for Barkley ...lol -
errr nope, and nothing Ive said here could be construed otherwise. but if you want to believe that, thats fine with me. and certainly there's been speculation that iranian support for palestineans (sunnis) is due to an agenda to drive a wedge between saudis (who mostly sit by idly) and other sunnis, while the shiites (iranians) are more actively involved in the palestinean cause. but whether it's genuine concern or politically motivated, it's a ridiculous notion to think they would wipe out nearly 6 million arab muslims in the process of using nuclear weapons on israel.

you forgot to say "conspiracy", either the left is acting on one, or fantasizing the right has one. but here's another chance for you to cry "conspiracy!!" US intel report scrapped Iran from list of terror threats The unclassified version of the Worldwide Threat Assessment of the US Intelligence Communities, dated February 26, 2015 (PDF), noted Iran’s efforts to combat Sunni extremists, including those of the ultra-radical Islamic State group, who were perceived to constitute the preeminent terrorist threat to American interests worldwide. In describing Iran’s regional role, the report noted the Islamic Republic’s “intentions to dampen sectarianism, build responsive partners, and deescalate tensions with Saudi Arabia,” Read more: US intel report scrapped Iran from list of terror threats | The Times of Israel http://www.timesofisrael.com/us-report-scraps-iran-hezbollah-from-list-of-terror-threats/#ixzz3UhqSsjLe Follow us: @timesofisrael on Twitter | timesofisrael on Facebook

i get that and its a simple one, Im commenting on the authors point regarding how much theyre paying him. They may also see him getting some carries out of the backfield, which is something Miami did with him sometimes. Rex goes for versatility with offensive players (harvin, tebow, and now clay), and roman runs kind of an old-fashioned run the ball with various players from various formations, including quasi-run short pass plays
-
well salaries are going up for most free agents due to higher caps. but even then it seems like a lot for this guy when there were others more prototypical size like cameron on the market. I think Bills interest and valuation of Clay is that he fits their offense better, which will be to get the ball out quicker, run screens, etc. Clay is built more like a full back, and runs like one too

ill let you google it to see what their relations have been ... but clearly theyve been supporters of palestineans (who are arabs) and vocal critics of the israeli occupation. Seems to me most of all the Middle East countries ... you want to get hung up on the word "staunch" because your claim they dont care about arabs was so utterly and easily refuted. so be it, I dont care uh yeah, you think a deal explicitly provides them with weapons? lol, good grief no wonder youre all worked up
-
yeah I know, their staunch support of Palestineans (Arabs) is due to them being an irrational, suicidal peoples ... there, i just saved you the trouble of typing an idiotic typical response whats the value of a label if youre not attaching associations with it? said many times, a tightly monitored civilian program is better than an unregulated one ... thats the choice. please use search for now on, the redundancy is tiring
-
the all encompassing crap contention when all else fails and you can no longer respond to specific points. how about this then: explain how an "irrational" people bent on "martyrdom" have survived for several millennium?
-
some more help for the oline and Roman will have all the pieces he needs for a ground n pound, running/short to intermediate passing offense. Question: will they be able to use deeper threats like Goodwin and Watkins? Be interested how many times they threw the ball more than 20 yards with 9ers, and how that ranks vs rest of league
-
Ever stop to think that if Iran unleashed a boat load of nukes capable of "destroying" Israel they would also be "destroying" the 6 million or so arabs that live in Israel and the occupied territories? Before spouting your hysterical nonsense that can lead to more americans dying for unjustified causes, why dont you consider such things? I think the nearly 5,000 dead and tens of thousands of americans wounded in Iraq deserve better than for us to buy hook, line and sinker the propaganda of a con artist like this:

been covered multiple times. the iranian politician who that quote is attributed to is no longer power. it was made in another language, and different interpretations have been offered he was referring to their government and their racist, ethnic cleansing practices, and not to the jewish people as a whole. During last year's Gaza invasion the current regime made clear their comments refer to a democractic solution in israel wherein everyone under israel control -- including occupied territories -- have a right to vote, as a means to bringing down the government officials that support the racist policies. again, not to the jewish people. But of course groups looking to bait us into a war with them need sound bites, if not that theyd find something else to distort -- you know, stuff for weak minds like yours And btw there exists an ancient and longstading jewish community in Iran ("Persian Jews"). If Iran was so intent on eliminating jews explain why this community exists within Iran: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persian_Jews

you dont follow the logic because you're stupid. no one ever said "because US is this, Iran deserves that". i put forth examples where democracies have or are acting in a hostile manner to undermine the argument that iran's form of government somehow makes them more dangerous.
-
You can label their form.of government whatever you like, but the fact is US ...always held up as a shining example of global democracy ....invaded Iraq under completely false pretense and hundreds of thousands were killed. Israel is held up as "the only democracy in the region" and has a decades long and ongoing brutal occupation and ethnic cleansing of an indigeous peoples. So is it democracies we should be concerned with? We've already discusssd at length the basis for the rhetoric, why don't we try treating them better and see how that changes? They'd be one of a number of oil producing nations with existing or planned civilian nuclear energy program, Brazil and Saudi arabia some other examples ....nothing new there either. Nuclear is cleaner burning and less expensive to meet electricity needs, and countries also like alternative energy sources. They have this right under the NPT which they are signatory to
-
Yes, and if that changed the odds of a tightly monitored program detecting it is far more likely than an unregulated program. Again, a point I have made.
-
no it wouldnt make sense, and its not what i said either. one mo' time, im not concerned about a tightly monitored iranian civilian use nuclear program. separately i am concerned with foreign actors who try to ensnare us in their conflicts. the related aspect is that right now israel's PM and the saudi royals are doing that wrt iran.
-
Iran scares me not at all. Who do concern me are characters like netanyhu and the saudi royal family who under the false pretext of being an ally ensnare US in conflicts not of our interest or makings, and waste American lives and dollars. Like 4,500 casualties in Iraq and more than $1.7 trillion of tax payer money

Not a death knell, there will always be athletes willing to take their place. Its just a matter of will the quality of play suffer as a result of lesser athletes on the field Too many it is, bears ex safety chris conte spoke directly to this. I'm sure many others think the same way. When you're young and making money are most athletes really thinking about retiring ? -
Will the GOP Kick It Away? by Patrick J. Buchanan, March 17, 2015 For the U.S. House to invite a foreign leader to come into its chambers and see that leader, on national television, mocking U.S. foreign policy to wild cheering was something few of us expected to see in our lifetimes. Came then the astonishing letter drafted by Tom Cotton, a 2-month-old senator who makes Ted Cruz look like Ramsey Clark, that was signed by 47 Republicans. Sent to the ayatollah and mullahs, the Cotton letter instructed Iran that any deal signed by Kerry might not be worth the paper it was written on. Congress could reject the deal, said the 47, and a new president in 2017 could cancel it with “the stroke of a pen.” The letter’s purpose was the same as Bibi’s purpose – to scuttle, sabotage and sink any U.S. nuclear deal with Iran. But if there is no deal and Iran returns to enriching uranium to 20 percent, we are on the road to war. Is this what America has to look forward to if it votes GOP? Another Middle Eastern war, with a country twice the size of Iraq, to strip the country of weapons of mass destruction it does not have? Didn’t we just do that at a cost of 4,500 dead, 35,000 wounded warriors and $1.7 trillion? http://original.antiwar.com/buchanan/2015/03/16/will-the-gop-kick-it-away/

gotta luv too how post published part where he asked them not to publish the story .... lol Disegi, a regular patron at BG, admitted to us via email Sunday, “Yes, I had too much to drink. It was a mistake. Publishing this would not be good for my career, and I really beg you to be discreet here. I made a mistake, and I feel terrible.”
