  1. Did you bother reading the usa today article? Its an accurate summary Nice little trinket from it: "A Saudi-led coalition has been striking the Houthis and their allies from the air since March 26, but has carried out no attacks on Mukalla or other al-Qaida-controlled areas."
  2. well looks like our Saudi "friend" has their ground troops going in Yemen Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) has been the chief beneficiary of the Saudi war against Yemen’s Houthis so far, as it has distracted the Houthis from fighting against them, and freed up AQAP forces to amass huge gains in the southeast. Having taking the city of Mukalla earlier this month, freeing over 300 prisoners, AQAP has now consolidated its position through the rest of the immediate vicinity, capturing the major provincial airport as well as a valuable oil terminal. http://news.antiwar.com/2015/04/16/al-qaeda-captures-yemen-airport-oil-terminal/
  3. Its not like its all bad with all their friends dying. Clinton's good buddy denise rich swung a pardon for her billionaire sugar daddy marc rich who was a fugitive after evading $45 million in taxes "Clinton's critics alleged that Rich's pardon had been bought, as Denise Rich had given more than $1 million[26] to Clinton's political party (the Democratic Party), including more than $100,000 to the Senate campaign of the president's wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and $450,000 to the Clinton Library foundation during Clinton's time in office." Former President Jimmy Carter, a fellow Democrat, said, "I don't think there is any doubt that some of the factors in his pardon were attributable to his large gifts. In my opinion, that was disgraceful." http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc_Rich
  4. so now US is losing influence because of the ludicrous waste of time theyve put the other parties thru. Russia has already splintered off and is selling defense systems to Iran, and you can bet other members of the 5+1 will splinter off too. They arent bound to keep sanctions in place if US wont lift them. bunch of dopes in House and Senate
  5. Some of us may need a long lead time to brace ourselves
  6. One word you should be prepared to refer to her in less than 2 years is "President"
  7. this "experiment" was run 2 years ago and Obama got almost 2/3rds of the Electoral college. And he wasnt even considered a strong incumbent. That vote was as much a negative on repubes agenda. And yet they keep playing the same losing hand
  8. lol ... http://youtu.be/NCoPCbC72EY
  9. It says less about tuel and more about the other candidates.
  10. What makes him any different than the other clowns?. He has the cookie cutter platform that doesnt reosnate with voters: - God is my co-pilot - bomb Iran - Al Gore invented global warming - govt gets to determine what pregnant women do with their bodies - cut entitlement programs but increase military spending - the solution to gun violence is more guns Blah, blah, blah.... He has no chance IMO, totally unaligned with public opinion
  11. Division record of 4-0-2, conference record 0-0-6, record against NFC 0-4-0, probably makes playoffs
  12. Iran says US companies are interested in making investments in its stock market. http://www.payvand.com/news/15/apr/1071.html
  13. No, my bias towards the genre is pretty much summarised by this time review of hill's book: This is a campaign book, written by a candidate (via her speechwriters), processed through a political machine, and delivered to the public with the contradictory goals of depicting the author as a decisive leader and not betraying any evidence of leadership that would turn a voter off. Here is how the candidate-without-an-official-campaign describes the choice facing the country in the next presidential election: " Ultimately, what happens in 2016 should be about what kind of future Americans want for themselves and their childrenand grandchildren. I hope we choose inclusive politics and a common purpose to unleash the creativity, potential, and opportunity that makes America exceptional. Thats what all American people deserve." Real people who arent running for office do not write like this. They do not think like this. They do not try to string together feel-good words in decisive ways that pretend at taking bold stands on the future without actually taking any stand. There are no clear-thinking Americans who do not want inclusive politics or common purpose. There is no one in public or private life in this country who does not want to unleash the creativity, potential and opportunity of the nation. So why write it? Because it is campaign mumbo-jumbo, and campaign mumbo-jumbo works if you want to win elections. http://time.com/2853172/hillary-clinton-hard-choices-book-review/
  14. beyond that didnt the Hill lead the charge as SoS for the ill-fated US supported efforts in Lybia and Syria? speaking of which, here's a funny headline: US, Europe demand Libya ceasefire as embassies attacked http://gulfnews.com/news/mena/libya/us-europe-demand-libya-ceasefire-as-embassies-attacked-1.1490947 lol yeah, like anyone will listen
  15. as far as Demo nod it's over ... barring any major scandal which disqualifies her (which you can bet Clinton adversaries would have found by now), Hillary will be the 2016 Democratic nominee. There is no Barack Obama to unseat her this time. And if the Repubes don't come up with a message that resonates with voters (instead of ones that alienate like theyve been doing), she will be the next president too. Congrats repube bozos for what now looks probable in getting her elected
  16. Better than the circles he travels in Senator John McCain, Foreign Relations Adviser to Al Qaeda Death Squads in Syria http://www.globalresearch.ca/senator-john-mccain-foreign-relations-adviser-to-al-qaeda-death-squads-in-syria/5348383
  17. We're talking first round, and all rounds are not weighted equally. Also when you trade a first round pick you have to consider opportunity cost. Lastly this was an acknowledged receiver rich draft. If you dont consider opportunity cost then no matter what you give up or who was available, as long as the guy you got is a good player you'd say it worked out. So if bills trade their entire 2015 and 2016 draftw to trade up and take gurley, and he turns onto a 1,000 yard rusher, you wouldn't hold the forgone picks against the GM?
  18. So you think the Vikings GM who traded all those pics and players to dallas for Herschel Walker did a good job because walker had some good years in Minnesota?
  19. Nix and that other hillbilly gailey were terrible. They're in F/D- territory. You can outperform them and very much be a "C"
  20. Because as stated we gave up too much for him.
  21. I wish voters felt the same way. Politicians aren't being held accountable by paying the price for their bad decisions. Too easy for them to appease the big money donors and go against the general interests of the population
  22. C. Which is just about the best grade possible when his two first round picks aren't panning out so far; ej is riding the pine, and we gave up too much for Watkins
  23. deserves it's own thread because a) it's a high profile case, b) her comments are disgraceful and hideous when juxtaposed against the victims, and c) should not be associated with 1.6 billion others
  24. Unfortunately Paul has watered down and diluted hia non-interventionist foreign policy, libertarian domestic policy stance, to appease the party's big money donors. Now its hard to differentiate from any of the other knucklehead contenders. Repubes are in the process of handing dems another election because what he's backing off of are issues that would resonate positively voters.
