  1. The punishment is excessive all the way around- Too many games Too big a fine Loss of draft picks wasn't needed at all This will only serve to motivate brady to come back and win the super bowl that much more next year. With no one really to stand in their way, I can see that happening too.
  2. No effect, Pete Rose territory would be required to keep him out
  3. Thats harsh all the way around. One quarter of the season starting QB sits. Really bothers me one of those games may be against us too. Really wanted to see Rex's D get after him. I think 2 games at most was the right call. Would have been OK with none too $1 million is crazy when spygate was only $500k. Spygate was more egregious and had the far bigger impact on game outcomes. Loss of 2016 first round pick. .....harshest of all, wow. Surprised picks were even involved. So given large fine and loss of pick are they penalizing the franchise because bellichick knew?
  4. There was speculation that he setup shop in a military town thinking they'd protect him. If not that then why there? Evil guy yes, stupid guy no
  5. Could have merit. That whole thing was kinda fishy from the start that Pakistan intelligence didn't know OBL was hanging out in a large complex smack dab in the middle of a key military town. ---------- Washington (CNN)Journalist Seymour Hersh is alleging President Barack Obama and his administration lied about the circumstances surrounding the 2011 killing of Osama bin Laden, an account close followers of the raid to kill the al Qaeda leader are aggressively disputing. Citing an anonymous "major U.S. source," Hersh writes in the London Review of Books that the Obama administration cooperated with Pakistani intelligence officials to kill bin Laden, and that the chief of staff of the Pakistani army and director general of the Inter-Services Intelligence Agency knew about the mission, contrary to Obama's claim that Pakistani officials weren't aware of the raid in advance. http://edition.cnn.com/2015/05/11/politics/seymour-hersh-obama-bin-laden-raid-lied/
  6. Suit is for foregone endorsements, not draft position. I would think his agent and lawyer have a fair amount of information and ammunition to support that otherwise they wouldn't have made the claim. Actually counter suits are quite common in civil matters.
  7. We need to start cheating a lot more. There's a clear correlation between cheating and franchise success
  8. More interesting question if he weren't Brady what would happen? If it were a lower profile qb like nick foles what would they do? I.e Is bradys celebrity working for or against him?
  9. "Mr. Winston brings this action against Ms. Kinsman out of necessity, not malice or ill will," the court filing said, according to the Tampa Bay Times, which first reported the story. "Nonetheless, Ms. Kinsman's false statements have irreparably harmed his professional and personal life." In the countersuit, Winston alleged that Kinsman's accusations are "false, defamatory ... and have maliciously and impermissibly interfered with Mr. Winston's business and personal relationships." The suit claims Kinsman's accusations subjected Winston to an "almost inconceivable amount of media attention" and led to the loss of significant endorsement deals. "She has mounted a false and vicious media campaign to vilify Mr. Winston with the objective of getting him to pay her to go away. Ms. Kinsman is motivated by the most insidious objectives -- greed," the counterclaim said. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12851043/jameis-winston-tampa-bay-buccaneers-files-countersuit-accuser

  11. never ceases to amaze me how candidates of the modern repube party try to out compete each other on a set of positions that by and large run counter to voter preference
  12. Unless its more than a few games pats won't appeal as they'll want to get it out of the way early in the season. if we lose week 2 to a garafalo led pats i am seriously done with this team
  13. Err dont tell me, his platform is ... God is my co-pilot Solution to gun violence is more guns Global warming is a liberal hoax Bomb Iran And above all else: Israel How did I know? Simple, cut and paste from other repubes
  14. Preach on brother... Floyd Mayweather: Manny Pacquiao is a sore loser and a coward http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/boxing/mayweather-vs-pacquiao/11591468/Floyd-Mayweather-Manny-Pacquiao-is-a-sore-loser-and-a-coward.html
  15. Garapolo would have earned starting job by then
  16. Seriously does this family have any decent friends?
  17. The most interesting thing will be Bradys actual statement. Will he toe the party line of Kraft and his lawyer and attack the accuser? Or the opposite and issue a full apology? My bet he'll try to find somewhere in the middle. Say he told the guys to let some air out, but only because he thought they felt a little over inflated. That he never intended to circumvent the rule. Only trying to get them to where they felt right. And the little perks he gave the guys weren't for helping him break any rules, but only to reward them when they got them to the levels he felt most comfortable with. "I know now i should have been a lot more careful. And mostly I want to say how sorry I am that my actions have in any way reflected poorly on Mr. Kraft, Coach Bellicheck, and the Patriots organization as a whole. They deserve a lot better from me. As do the our fans, the greatest in the world. From this point I can only try my utmost best to learn from this, and become a better person as a result".
  18. Honestly I can see why to an athlete its not a big deal. They try to cut corners all the time. He feels he wants to tweak them to where he wants, and the league's not going to dictate where that is. But the reality is that he got caught and he lied.
  19. What would be the league's motive in tarnishing the reputation of its most high profile team and most marketable player?
  20. Why notify them in advance of when they're being observed? Clearly they won't do it in those instances. It'd be like the police telling a suspected burglar which buildings are under surveillance so he'll know to avoid them
  21. The heavy handed "go on the offensive" tact of both Kraft and Brady's agent reinforce his guilt imo. There's no reason at all to believe the league had it in for Brady and the pats. Thats just silly. Theyve been caught red handed and rather than own up to it, they're going the Bill O'Reilly route when he was caught red handed lying about his journalistic experiences multiple times
  22. Ewwww .... nfw that photo is creepy as hell looking. And I can understand someone stealing shoes because they're poor or a crook reselling them, but the mutilation is just bizarre.
  23. Manny admitted he didn't keep attacking because he (bizarrely) thought he was ahead on points. As a result he didn't tire himself out to the degree he would have been vulnerable to KO. Given your ignorance on the sport, I should explain to you that counterpunchers often look to score their KOs in later rounds after the opponent wears down from having thrown a lot of punches, and getting nailed with counter punches throughout the fight. Punchers like Tyson try to score KOs early, and if they dont they get into trouble against counter punchers as the fight wears on
  24. I guess he was more versatile then because the stuff I've seen on YouTube vs forman, Liston, and Frazier those other guys were always the aggressor. Counter punch doesnt mean not scoring knockouts. More than half of Floyd's victories (26/48) have come by knockout. I had predicted he would KO Manny in 9th. I found how hed win the more interesting question than who would win: imo it was easily going to be Floyd.
