  1. And he could very well be better than all of them
  2. Some good news for you "All nine men who were killed in the bloody shootout in a parking lot in Waco, Texas, died from gunshot wounds, according to preliminary autopsies released Tuesday." http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-waco-biker-shootout-investigation-20150519-story.html#page=1
  3. Seems like so far nearly every off season move was done for rex: - signing the troubled incognito - trade for shady - sign harvin - first draft pick a db - sign taylor Haven't been following the Joe B pieces, but nothing here contradicts VC. All he said was a) its an open competition and b) he feels if EJ didn't win starter then he won't be on the roster, could be traded for a late round pick
  4. i could see gronk 10 years from now when he's completely washed up, old and injured. Make a big deal about his home coming, then he stumbles thru 3 games before being put on IR. And at end of season signs a 1-day deal to retire as a pat
  5. Of the non-Bills, I think Mike Vick is most likely to end up on a Bills roster some day. We're unsetlled at the QB position and probably will be for some time. This year for example, if we only carry 2 QBs on the roster and one goes down, Vick could get the call. He fits the profile of the pass around QBs paying a visit here recently, like Cassell, Orton, and Kolb before him. He's also the type of mobile QB Rex and Roman like.
  6. Its not what we may think it's what Rex thinks and whaley let's him do that matters. But I have strong sense Rex loves this. And he does seem worth a serious look.
  7. Rex gets a woody for QBs that can run like this. He traded for Tebow, and signed Vick. Perhaps its his defensive mind has a harder time figuring out how to defend them. If it looks like EJ's arm is no better than this guys, I could see him reasoning he might as well stay with the more Mobile guy.
  8. Given that is a sunk cost it may make financial sense depending who they use the roster spot for. If it's a vet minimum or mid to lower round rookie contract, then the all-in cost of EJ contract + the other guy may still be palpable. Better that than paying the majority of the same money for a guy theyve given up on taking a roster spot
  9. "And had there been even more guns at the shoot out that killed 9 in Texas, somehow the whole thing coukd have been prevented."
  10. No wonder McCain wants to "bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" .... they keep taking on his militia! Iran-backed militias 'head for Iraq's IS-held Ramadi' The Iraqi government is reported to be sending Iran-backed Shia militias to Ramadi to recapture the city seized by Islamic State (IS) militants on Sunday. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-32777138
  11. Good post all the way around. I know what you mean about seeing a game live vs watching on TV. Live you get to see how a play develops and what the QB could/should have done, vs what actually happened. And also how much (or little) confidence the team mates have in him. That said the open question is why EJ regressed yr1 to yr2, and dramatically so within yr2? Hopefully since they're gone it was coaching. But stakes are high for him too given the new staff have no ties to him. If it comes to it hopefully we get a 6th or 7th (again gabbert got a 6th), and worst case if no offers then the cap hit seems manageable. We're not talking Cutler $25 million over 2 years stuff
  12. McCain's Militia claim "mission accomplished" in retake of Ramadi.... Isil claims full control of Ramadi in major blow to Iraqi government An army lieutenant colonel who was among the troops that withdrew from the operations command centre confirmed that IS now controlled all of the main security bases in the city. "Army and police and all forces that were stationed at the Anbar operations command have pulled out, as they have from the nearby police station and judicial compound," he said, speaking on condition of anonymity. "Daesh has just taken full control of all main security bases... They torched the main petrol station at operations command as soon as they took over," he said, using an Arabic acronym for Isil. The jihadists' major push to take Ramadi two days earlier trapped hundreds of members of Iraqi forces in their bases with no supply lines and insufficient support to fight back. A video surfaced on Facebook on Sunday of soldiers inside a base pleading with their superiors for reinforcements and supplies. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/islamic-state/11611598/Isil-claims-full-control-of-Ramadi-in-major-blow-to-Iraqi-government.html
  13. If true that would be one screwy, mixed up offense. Variety is good, but this would be too much IMO. They already have woods/ Watkins/harvin/clay/shady/Goodwin/hogan/Fred, etc ...and shored up interior line in fa and draft. That's plenty of talent, let the guys play!
  14. Its not too early when its a numbers game like this. Up until this point I hadn't really contemplated EJ not even being here in 2015. But after reading VC's comments it made a lot of sense. If gabbert netted a 6th, I don't see why EJ can't at least get a 7th, saving them the sal cap hit ...which worse case seems manageable anyway
  15. what if they PS him and someone takes him? are there any regulations saying he cant be ps'd?
  16. I think for the most part last year they carried 2 QBs on the 53. Could be wrong because its hard info to track from week to week. But the beauty of Tuel is you can park him on the PS without fear he's getting lifted, and he'll do a halfway decent job filling in for a few games. EJ not so much, he'd get picked up for sure by someone willing to give him a second chance. So if he ranks 3rd in camp and there's a cost of letting someone else go to keep him, I can certainly see them saying its time to part ways if after 2 years he remains buried on the depth chart
  17. Seems like a rather optimistic interpretation to me. The clear message is that EJs thrown into the mix of 3 without given any extra reps. Cassell is a lock as vet backup. Of the one remaining spot the HC has a soft spot for the other guy. And if EJ doesnt win the starting job he's done here And who knows what really happens next. Contrast that with last year and worst case if he wasnt starter his roster status was secure as backup. Fail to see how this is a positive trend
  18. how do they hide EJ in reserve? Put him on PS and he'll get lifted by another team.
  19. Jets 53 last august had 2 QBs. If bills want to cut ties with EJ this would be the time to do it unless he's the starter
  20. You really think they carry 3 qbs? Cassell is a lock, and Rex (who's very much a 'thats my guy' coach) loves Taylor
  21. He makes a good case ..... Although Carucci believes Ryan and coordinator Greg Roman are "open-minded" about Manuel's chances, he also suspects the 2013 first-round pick won't be on the final roster unless he wins the starting job. If the Bills end up dangling Manuel for a late-round pick in August, keep an eye on the Eagles as a potential trade partner. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000492925/article/is-matt-cassel-destined-for-backup-role-with-the-bills
  22. Official statements are offensively hypocritical: "The operation represents another significant blow to ISIL, and it is a reminder that the United States will never waver in denying safe haven to terrorists who threaten our citizens, and those of our friends and allies," Carter said. - he was no threat to US citizens, in fact our activities over there only serve to create blowback which put citizens in harms way (see 9/11). What friends and allies do we have there? Just foreign govts that exploit us "We have warned the Assad regime not to interfere with our ongoing efforts against ISIL inside of Syria," she said. "As we have said before, the Assad regime is not and cannot be a partner in the fight against ISIL. In fact, the brutal actions of the regime have aided and abetted the rise of ISIL and other extremists in Syria." - we turned Isis into a legitimate force it is by destabilizating of Syria and Iraq. Assad had for years effectively contained these threats. Same thing with the houthis in Yemen, who defeated al Qaeda and had no gripes with us, but we're assisting in their demise http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2015/05/16/us-special-forces-isil-syria/27434035/
  23. Cassell > Fitz Thus far Geno > EJ, but its too early to call it And drafting any one of those guys available at 51st pick does nothing for our 2015 season except lose us an impact DB in Darby
