McCain's Militia on the Move Again
truth on hold replied to truth on hold's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Lol yeah you selectively choose to believe his comments after the party told him to soften them. Even then he offered no retraction. But hey McCain is at it again, never met a war he didn't like. John McCain on Afghanistan: US must reassess troop withdrawal http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/jul/04/john-mccain-afghanistan-troop-withdrawal Guys a complete tool of the military industrial complex....exactly what a real conservative like Eisenhower warned about. -
CALAIS, Maine A young man who was drinking and celebrating the Fourth of July tried to launch a firework off the top of his head, fatally injuring himself, authorities said Sunday. Devon Staples and his friends had been drinking and setting off fireworks Saturday night in the backyard of a friend's home in the small eastern Maine city of Calais, said Stephen McCausland, a spokesman for the state Department of Public Safety. Staples, 22, of Calais, placed a fireworks mortar tube on his head and set it off, he said. The firework exploded, killing Staples instantly, McCausland said. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/07/05/man-dies-after-shooting-off-firework-from-top-his-head-police-say/

Many economists, including those at U.S. banking giant JPMorgan, reckon the outcome of Sunday's referendum will probably hasten Greece's exit from the euro. "Although the situation is fluid, at this point Greek exit from the euro appears more likely than not," JPMorgan's Malcolm Barr told clients on Sunday evening, adding 'Grexit' was now the bank's "base case". "'No' most likely means EMU exit," Barclays told its clients. As Asia-Pacific currency trading got underway, the euro fell more than 1 percent against the U.S. dollar EUR= and more than 2 percent against Japan's yen EURJPY=. http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKCN0PF13320150705?irpc=932

McCain's Militia on the Move Again
truth on hold replied to truth on hold's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
No one buying it except a Republican front runner of course. ------- Rand Paul blames GOP hawks for rise of Islamic State group The freshman senator from Kentucky said Wednesday that the GOP's foreign policy hawks "created these people." The Islamic State group, commonly referred to as ISIS, has seized one-third of Iraq and Syria and in recent days made gains in central Iraq. "ISIS exists and grew stronger because of the hawks in our party who gave arms indiscriminately," Paul said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." He continued: "They created these people." http://news.yahoo.com/rand-paul-blames-gop-hawks-rise-isis-170523782--election.html -

Whats baked in the cake at some point is a war. US will be faced with severe devaluation if its creditors demand payment. Rather than face the internal crisis they'll make up some excuse to attack the main creditors. Like nazi Germany did, that was more about breaking the WW1 reparation treaties than anything else.

As an economic program, austerity, under recession, makes no sense. It just makes the situation worse. So the Greek debt, relative to GDP, has actually gone up during the period ofwhich the policies that are supposed to overcome the debt. Blame Greek socialism all you want, but the only practical way out now is debt forgiveness. Then you can implement controls

golf fans -- is Tiger Woods done?

I personally think he's done. I've said this before but probably not really meant it. Now I think he's just another guy in the field, deep in the field. He no longer has any kind of length advantage, and his marvelous short game has lost its touch. Sure I watched intensely when he was at the height of his powers.... Probably the most impressive performances and dominance over a long period I've ever witness in sports. But I'm finding the sport doesn't need him right now either. A fair weather viewer like me is being drawn back into it by Jordan's spieth performance. Can't wait to see how he does in the British, 3rd leg of grand slam. Hes an interesting and refreshing character in that he's not one of these stupidly long hitters like mcilroy. Johnson, and watson. Yet he's got an intensity and precision that makes him very watchable. Add those other guys into the mix and a few others and it makes for great theatre again. -
Global warming err Climate change HOAX
truth on hold replied to Very wide right's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The ignorance here is simply astounding. Your "history" of climate forecast is wholly superficial. And did you ever stop to consider something without precedent is taking place right now with the level of C02 emissions? The science behind its impact is supported by a consensus above 90% of the scientific community. How anyone can be on the side of "do nothing" given the consequences, is mind boggling -
Jim Harbaugh interview on Cowherd

I didn't know what he meant by "buy" either. Sounds like cowherd was just trying to sound cool. And even if it was understood, yeah its pretty freaking obvious the big 10 with the reigning champ and now Michigan making a big investment in Harbaugh is a high profile conference. -

I like cowherds show but that was on him. Just odd way to start asking a guy to talk about intense he is. Harbaugh was acting reasonably given the odd series of disjointed questions. -
