thematically I agree, "Need" is an important factor but it's not the only one; e.g. if the best DB on the board at the time was rated as 7th round talent they wouldnt take him. But what Im hearing from others is that Darby was "BPA" as in your Kiper reference, and his selection conveyed no information about Bills system or perceived need. For reasons stated previously, I totally disagree with that view
-
Like I said earlier teams say that and for the most part i don't buy it. But if you want to believe it was coincidence BPA in Rd2 just happened to be the most important piece in Rex's defense, and Rd3 the gaping hole on the Oline, fine with me.
-
Certain as in 100%, no. Are you 100% certain they're bpa? What I deduce from their selections is a pattern of need picks (most teams draft this way). 1. EJ clearly need 2. They said they wanted more offense and that it was a passing league, so they go out and spend a boatload of picks beefing up the WR corp 3. The LB corp they inherited from Hailey/Nix era was terrible, so they draft LBs 4. They had terrible guard play last year so they draft a guard this year. All of these are consistent with what they were doing in FA, where I'm not aware of teams going "bpa" The only clear exception I see is Cyrus, where they took a flyer on a player with injury concern that kept him out of Rd1. Clearly not Darbys situation. And here's what NFL.com said about Darby selection: "Buffalo's first pick of the draft had Rex Ryan's fingerprints all over it as the Bills selected athletic cornerback Ronald Darby with the No. 50 pick Friday night. Without a first-round pick, the Bills used their principal selection to add a player with high upside who could become a playmaker at the most important position in Ryan's defense." http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000490071/article/buffalo-bills-select-cb-ronald-darby-with-no-50-pick I agree with them, and it sure sounds like need to me

This team doesn't draft BPA, especially in the first 3 rounds, no matter what they might say. 2 years ago they went QB, WR, LB, WR, last year they went WR, OT, LB. This year DB, OG .... clearly a pattern of need picks. Not a surprise at all Darby was their first pick of 2015. Rex's best record with Jets and when he got closest to Super Bowl was 2010 when Revis and Cromartie were both clicking. And the best team of the past 2 years -- Seahawks ... also had the best secondaries. Pats only got back in the winner's circle when they reassembled an elite secondary with Revis last year. It's clear as bell to those paying attention an elite secondary is a requirement, and certainly Rex saw this first hand in his experience with the Jets.

I like McKelvin too ...always have. But he's not shutdown. No opposing team game plans against throwing against him. He's just not physical enough and is prone to mental mistakes.

If you thought Obama was a socialist, wait till hillay gets elected. Hillary Clinton to center campaign on raising middle-class incomes In a major address in New York, the Democratic front-runner will lay out a diagnosis for why wages have been stuck and a framework to ensure that economic growth benefits more ordinary workers, according to campaign officials. She believes that making sure the real incomes of everyday Americans are rising steadily and strongly is the defining economic challenge of our time, said one campaign official, who previewed Clintons remarks only on the condition of anonymity. Clinton will endorse a host of popular Democratic policies such as raising the minimum wage and investing more in infrastructure. She will emphasize proposals tailored toward working women, one of her most important bases of support, such as expanding access to child care and providing workers with paid family and sick leave. The ideas, in many ways, sound similar to the second-term agenda of President Barack Obama, who faced an economic crisis in his first term and in his second started to more directly to address the nations long-running economic problems. But he has struggled to pass major legislation with a Republican-dominated Congress. Clinton will say she wants to build on his agenda, and, in working to craft an economic vision of her own, she goes further in her emphasis on giving women more flexibility to enter the workforce and on new government efforts to change the investment and pay decisions of corporations. Outside Of Division What Team Do You Consider Big Rival

KC...they keep besting us in games we should win, and the losses turn out to be pivotal in terms of knocking us out of playoff contention. Closing the deal with them is a hump we need to get over. We play them yet again this year -
Fine with me. My problem is Kelly saying Darby will ride the pine for most of his rookie season. Again, they did not use their first pick in the draft for that. They did it out of need and scheme, who they chose on defense says a lot about the latter. Rex was best when be had 2 shutdown corners....revis and cromartrie. He has one of them in Gilmore, the intention was to make Darby the other as clearly McKelvin is not shutdown.
-
Robey was a nice pickup as an UDFA, but he has no where near the upside and expectations as Darby. Again, they did not use their first pick in the draft on a guy expected to see little playing time.

With the head of his foundation already arrested 2 months earlier did they really expect to find anything at Jared's house? If he were guilty he had plenty of time to destroy the evidence. And if he weren't then nothing was there anyway.

Greece's problem is by being in the euro they lost control of monetary policy. Imagine US if we couldn't lower rates ....almost to zero in our case....to drag us out of credit crisis. Good article on it: http://mobile.nytimes.com/2015/07/10/opinion/paul-krugman-greeces-economy-is-a-lesson-for-republicans-in-the-us.html

I don't agree with the first premise, he clearly separated himself in the dem primary, and mccain-palin ticket was a farce. But at least on my limited sample, thw people I've asked who support her concede its due to gender. They say nothing about her positions....but realistically what can be said?

i disagree, in Rex's defense he'll see a of time. They didn't make him their first pick to sit on the bench most of the time.

Any chance Goodell could be suspended for all 16 games and the post season including the super bowl ? -
I know so why did you bring up Robey?
-
It's July 10. Camp hasn't even started. He'll blow right by Robey on the depth chart.
-
And what does it say about our country that someone so transparently FOS and incompetent is leading in the polls?
-
I love darby, great pick. Will be DRoY candidate IMO. Teams will throw at him early in the season, and by the end of the season will be throwing away from him.

NYSE resumes trading after unprecedented shutdown

Probably not her fault. I believe this part of the story: Antiquated System When I took office in late 2013 one of my priorities was to upgrade OPMs antiquated legacy system, she said. It is because of the efforts of OPM and its staff that weve been able to identify the breaches. Obama administration officials have defended Archuleta since the breach was disclosed last month, crediting her office with unearthing the intrusion during a project to upgrade security on government networks. Over the last year, as director Archuleta noted, OPM has been aggressively improving its security, Andy Ozment, assistant secretary of the Office of Cybersecurity and Communications at the Department of Homeland Security, told reporters on Thursday. OPM caught an intrusion because of the tools that it had rolled out. Bloomberg - U.S. Personnel Director Archuleta Quits After Data Breach http://bloom.bg/1J8XwTg -

Note to self (and others): Don't try the rim rider technique with socks on. Learned the hard way thats a slippery slope, got a soaker with foot sliding into the bowl and nasty shin bruise from crashing into the rim. -
here you go folks, what victims of Iraq war really look like. Most of you are simply ignorant cowards who keep posting away with no clue or concern for the costs, far removed from the actual consequences.

NYSE resumes trading after unprecedented shutdown

US personnel chief resists calls to resign amid data hack WASHINGTON (AP) " The head of the U.S. government's personnel office is rejecting bipartisan calls for her resignation following revelations that hackers stole the personal information of more than 21 million people on her watch. Katherine Archuleta, director of the federal Office of Personnel Management, said she has no plans to step down and is committed to continuing her work. The White House, which had previously said President Barack Obama was confident in Archuleta's leadership, said there was no change in its position. The escalating calls for Archuleta to be replaced came as the Obama administration disclosed on Thursday that the number of people affected by the federal breach " believed to be the biggest in U.S. history " was far higher than previously reported. Hackers downloaded Social Security numbers, health histories or other highly sensitive data from OPM's databases, affecting more than five times the 4.2 million people the government first disclosed this year. Since then, the administration acknowledged a second, related breach of systems housing private data that individuals submit during background investigations to obtain security clearances. http://m.nzherald.co.nz/world/news/article.cfm?c_id=2&objectid=11478924
