Communication issues on defense
truth on hold replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Funny thing is our best showing on defense might have come on the road against miami. Where there's less crowd noise when our defense is on the field. Rex even made the comment after Indy game he didn't realize how loud it got at Ralph and they need to make adjustments on D to deal with it -
Russia wants to save Assad, ISIS is only part of the groups they will target. They will go after all the terrorists, including those backed by US.... yes thats exactly what the so-called "moderates" are, and we'd certainly label them terrorists if they were on the other side. Russia knows that if Assad falls Syria will turn into an even bigger quagmire than Iraq. US policy is so irresponsible and reckless

McCain's Militia on the Move Again
truth on hold replied to truth on hold's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Russia is not !@#$ing around like US does. Russian Cruise Missiles Help Syrians Go on the Offensive http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/08/world/middleeast/russia-syria-conflict.html The word in diplomatic circles is that the refugee crisis in Europe is forcing a resolution to the conflict (remember we in the west just like to start sh#t overseas, but when it reaches home we cry foul). When talk of last desperate act by US to enforce no fly zones and away Assad's advantage and have him ousted started gaining momentum. Russia wisely said "!@#$ that, and replace him with Jihadists?" Way to go McCain, Hillary, and all other members of the militia, you forced Russia's hand and now you're personal agenda against Assad is falling to pieces. hundreds of thousands of dead, millions displaced, billions taxpayer money wasted ... but hey who cares right? No sweat off their backs. P.S. If you're wondering who the joke is on, it's us -
Communication issues on defense

theyre going to be a good defense this year, and they'll get better throughout the season. but my point is that we wont until next year see the full impact of Rex because like any new coach he needs a season to observe what he has, and make off season adjustments. One thing I see us needing is a more dynamic play making LB, our guys are good but not exceptional. No David Harris or ray Lewis on this squad -
This summary of Cundiff from NFL.com doesn't make him sums any more accurate than gay would have been Cundiff, 35, missed a rash of game-crushing kicks for the Browns last season and remains a cross-your-fingers performer beyond 30 yards. In a season full of gloomy kicker performances, Cundiff only adds to the drama. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000551650/article/bills-ink-billy-cundiff-to-battle-dan-carpenter

IMO.we'll get there and end up being more effective than Schwartz D. Just takes some time.to adjust, also (as often it seems) our players are a bit mismatched with the scheme; 4-3 personnel playing a lot of 3-4/hybrid. Probably won't be until next year when we see the full impact of Rex. -
Spiller M.I.A. in New Orleans
truth on hold replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Some interesting analsyis how saints are using him... New Orleans never would have had to pull the curtain off other pages of the Spiller Protocol if Zach Hocker had nailed a 30-yard field goal at the end of regulation. Luckily, the Saints spent the evening preparing for rain. The 80-yard touchdown pass Spiller caught was set up throughout the game. When a twist was added to the route concept, the Cowboys werent ready for it, which allowed Spiller to race to the end zone and deliver the 26-20 victory. The plotting for the play began during the third quarter when Spiller caught a 9-yard pass near the right sideline. New Orleans came out in its 12 personnel on the play, with Spiller lining up in the slot to the inside of Brandin Cooks. Cooks ran a short route over the middle, drawing a linebacker with him, which allowed Spiller to get open in the flat. Later in the fourth quarter, the Saints showed the same look and got the same result. Cooks ran a quick out route, drew a linebacker, and Spiller got open in the flat again for a gain of 9 yards. New Orleans rolled out the same look a third time in overtime. This time, Cooks ran an in route and the linebacker was ready to attack Spiller in the flat. The difference was that he kept going when he turned up the field. Dallas wasnt ready for it, and it resulted in an easy touchdown. The Saints will continue to look for ways to get Spiller involved and create mismatches. Even though his usage was limited until late in the third quarter, its clear the coaching staff has a vision for him, and he will continue to open things up for the offense. It became clear in the first quarter that he can change the way this team is defended. On one play, he motioned across the formation and was able to pull both linebackers and a safety his direction. This left Willie Snead in position to beat one man for an 11-yard reception on a slant. As Spiller continues to integrate himself in the offense and takes on a larger role, it will become easier to create these mismatches because teams will have to respect his presence. http://theadvocate.com/sports/latestsports/13642612-70/saints-report-card-final-play -

Bills bring in Trent Richardson
truth on hold replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There've just completely wanted their hands of this guy. And I don't know why -
Was it a shove, punch, push, swipe, open hand slap? Who knows hard to tell. It happened during flow of the play and Duke was swiping at ODB when he knocked him down too. So why wasn't what Williams did a punch too? Rarely if ever see a punch called in those circumstances....at most some kind of illegal hands to face. Punches that get called and fined happen well after plays are.over, with 2 guys jawing, one says something about the other guys momma, and the other guy hauls off and smacks him. Something like this...

I've often wondered about this very thing when I've taken puddle jumpers with one pilot.
