  1. Like you need extra time to determine thigpen doesn't belong in the NFL?
  2. Bill of goods we were sold on spiller was that he would make the oline look better. So you're saying that hasn't happened ?
  3. What about TE Cassin's prospects?
  4. http://vod.espn.go.com/motion/2011/0829/NFLive_AFCEast_Pvw.mp4 Don't agree that it's a toss up btw jets and pats for division. Think pats have addressed their weaknesses on both sides of ball. jets' running game will deteriorate and i dont think sancheese can pick up the slack. I see pats clear division front runner. But their assessment of the Bills, although brief, was fair. Also have to love the hatefest on henne lol
  5. McFadden wasnt considered a bust. He had turf toe.
  6. I think he makes the team. Jets will use him as a backup in passing situations. And a special teams starter. Looks like he'll always be a little too light to play the run, a little too big and undisciplined to play strong safety. But used properly he can have a role. Btw I don't get all the maybin hate. Was it his fault bills reached? Should he have said thanks bills but I'm really more like 5th round material so you can sign me for a lot less? So he acted a little immature when he got here. Let it go to his head. Which posters at that age wouldnt have? Not this one. He was appropriately humbled found a new environment and IMHO a role he can be a contributor.
  7. When mckelvin and McGee are on the field together mckelvin gets #1 receiver duty. And does an adequate job. McGee just doesn't seem to be able to hang with them anymore
  8. You really think anyone gives up a pick when the much more respected Evans only garnered a 4th? I see McGee as a waived vet picked up early by a team in desperate need like giants. Only way we get something like a 6th is making an interested team nervous we're dealing him to someone else.
  9. Been a big McGee fan for years, but let's face it, he's not getting it done any more. Not a shut down corner and doesn't make picks. Looks slow and is vulnerable to injury. If it's true, I can see it's time to let some of the younger legs get more time.
  10. I hear you, there are other issues. But even if we were stronger at QB and LT the O would still lack identity. (Unless the new QB were an off the charts guy like Rodgers.) IMO they were viewing Spiller as the guy who would give Bills O an identity, like Tomlinson did with Bolts. Identity is what takes you from being a pretender to a contender. I don't see how anyone at this point can project Spiller into a central, defining role.
  11. IMO spillers lack of contribution is what's missing from this offense. He was supposed to be a triple threat running, and receiving from the backfield, and lining up as a wr in many formations. This would have given them the element they need to keep the defense guessing, occupy one or more guys spying on him and thereby opening up opportunities for the rest of the offense. Not only is he not doing this but he's not showing any real signs he will be able to. When he comes on the field defense is barely noticing him and seeing no need to slant their defense towards stopping him.
  12. Gailey at the half said last night was more about guys losing spots than winning them. He wanted to see how they'd perform under pressure knowing jobs were at stake. Well thigpen saw the most time by far and performed like $#!+. If gaileys a man of his word and respectable coach thigpen will be gone.
  13. As it pertains to contracts from the former regime, yes. But what about the contracts he owns like thigpens? Will gailey show the same resolve?
  14. Id trade spiller and his contract right now for blunt hands down. We need a power back like blunt a lot more than a scat back
  15. Now that we got another dose of thigpen's crappy play I sure hope he's gone and brown stays. If gailey goes with his good ole boy southern buddy thigpen he'll certainly lose some credibility with me. And I'm guessing with bills players too. They know who's deserving, they don't like coaches that play favorites and they'll play their best in a system they think is fair.
  16. Yeap and on his next 2 touches a screen play and swing pass when all he had to do was beat one defender in space he went down each time for a loss.
  17. I bet he makes the team as a backup LB and starting special teams. But even if he doesn't make jets his preseason performance means someone else would pick him up.
  18. Doc that's all they let him play against. Can't fault him for him for not doing against first string when they didn't play him as a starter. Gee give the kid a break
  19. Proved he can play in this league? dude's on his 3rd team in 6 years. He ain't proved jack.
  20. Well I hope they're right. It is hard to isolate on one player especially If you're not there at the game. But it seems he plays the position "soft" to me.
  21. I'm listening to Ny talk radio now and they're saying with the stats he put up and his ability to play special teams, he probably makes the team.
  22. Fingers crossed be breaks a time honored tradition.
  23. Brown has shown an ability to take feedback and improve. He's still improving and therefore we don't know where his limit is. He shows a strong arm, quick feet and poise. Why jn the world would you cut him in favor of a journeyman where it's pretty clear he's close to if not at potential. He was given all the time in the world in pre season and showed nothing Unless buddy nix and chan gailey want a guy with a stupid sounding southern name like theirs. But seriously if chan is a man of his word and tonight was a matter of guys losing a spot showing they don't perform well under pressure, then thigpen should be cut.
  24. Carrying on bills tradition of early round busts/disappointments but finding value in later rounds
