Key to beating him is not letting him get his hands on you and jam you off the line. He has super strong hands and once he gets you off balance he gets to use his good footwork to keep you there. Also benefits from friendly officiatiinf with lots of grabbing after 5 yards. But if you get free off the line and get seperation hes not a super fast closer like Deion. If the QB recognizes it this is how he's given up some big plays. Stevie doesn't have big speed either but he does have a good initial inside move that can make him effective on slants

Andre Reed and Jim Kelly in SB XXV I'd say are a lock -
well he does kind of have a big head. Not made to look any smaller w/ a lumberjack beard lol. Jets can be funny some times, just treat them for what they are and have a good laugh. Whats nice about the good-natured Bills this stuff wont effect them. Nothing Fitz hasnt heard from his own team mates

I sat next to him and his wife at a Manhattan restaurant probably around 15 yrs ago. He was the same in person. Looked around the room all night and questioned just about everything: "Why do they do this?" "why do they call it that?" etc etc ... His wife was just like "yes dear, yes dear" lol. He definitely just "played" himself on TV. Good guy, he'll be missed

Everything FRED JACKSON

Revis is spot on. “He’s always been productive when we played them,’’ Revis said. “In the past, he wasn’t a starter, but we knew what type of back he was. Actually, in the past we’ve thought he was better than some of the starters there, but now he has a starting role and he’s doing what he needs to do. Read more: http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/jets/ready_freddy_QOGIO6fTkadviujMPHzwcP#ixzz1cqW5GOyj Kinda sucks he was farting around behind Bust-mode all this time. Or maybe the silver lining is that he has more in the tank now that we have an offensive-minded coach -
Not seeing a whole lot of need for Brad. Jets went up against him every day in practice, they know how his tendencies and how to defend him. Id only use him 1x or 2x as a pure decoy. Let them think we're on some kind of tit for tat with Maybin.

Spillers faster but everything else I agree with. With jones back the case for elevating spillers role just got weaker.

I see (hope) bills defensive front 7 plays big, stops the run and pressures sanchez. We can rely on dareus presence but how about heard, carrington, Edwards, troupe, Barnett, moats etc etc. These guys are all big and can play. Edwards in particular may bust out because he'll have good vibes knowing the opposing coach thinks highly of him too. Finer point is Sanchez is best when he rolls out to the right so try to contain him from that side. Make him go left. Hopefully kelsay can penetrate here and who ever is rotating at LDE. If it's too late and Sanchez has space then at least get hands up and block throwing lanes. He throws kind of a flat ball. Individually i hope to see McGee limiting plaxico. Holmes will get some catches against Florence and leonidas but if we can at least limit their passing attack to one guy that helps us know where to bring pressure. Stopping the run starts with keeping them from getting outside. Theyre not nearly as good runnig btw tackles. Put the defenders on high alert not to bite on inside fakes.

Good article. I like Shaun Ellis a lot and thought he wa under appreciated there because he wasn't a show boater. He came up big and was their best defender in the playoff win at NE last season. Thomas was also a known quantity and their sack leader last year. A real pair of core defenders that aren't easily replaceable. Wilkerson can make some plays but at this point certainly lacks Ellis every down consistency. And maybin replacing Thomas? Puh-leaze.

Only made it thru about a minute. so bad I even liked the Maybin song better

Like to see stats how often holders get the laces right. Bet its much greater than 50-50 and it's not distance depandant. -

Anyone catch Gailey on Mike & Mike at 7:30?

Thanks. Good straightforward answers. Sounds like a confident coach being himsel and not trying to sound smart, which so many of the younger ones try these days, and its getting annoying Not surprised it ulimately focused on Freddie. Just wish it went longer. -

A lot of the time they'll play tight press at the line, so getting the ball out early plays into their hands. They will show blitz nearly every time (although often get out of it when the ball is snapped) to get you to throw early. I prefer "bunch" patterns that don't separate until later down the field which interferes with their desire to play man and conceals the primary target. Key of course is not getting knocked off your route before it develops and QB making smart decisions, which counter-intuitively to a lot of people means being patient to the let the the WRs seperate downfield. Of course this also relies on good pass protection. Bottom line to beating the Jets, just like any team, is execution ... pass protect, stay in your routes, find the open guy etc etc = win the game. This is where freddie is big too and I bet giving th nightmares. He can get it clicking on the ground which makes the secondary play more off the line and in the center of the field in run support. And passing plays if jets bring the blitz they always show he can stay in and block or run to the non pressure side as a quick outlet. If they back off he can run underneath and catch a pass for solid yardage and break some given the secondary is locked up in man and the LBs are back peddling, almost like a west coast look which freddies ability to run in space and up the middle is another huge asset. These arent necessarily yiur big gainers but 4 and 5 yard jabs will still keep the xhains moving Freddie is key and bills haven't had a back since thermal that could do all this. If we are effective at picking up their blitzes going to be a real long day for them, not only because of Freddie but now those highly effective delayed separation bunch patterns have time to develop for big passing yards. -

yeap, the announcers were saying it would have been good from 57. thats how much leg he put into it. Is this creepy or what? An ambient piece to the kick, with narration at 2:45 .... -
Scott Norwood to be in attendance on Sunday
truth on hold replied to SHOUTBOX MONSTER!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Spot on. Because the 47 was about 5 yards beyond his comfort zone, he felt he had to give it some extra "oomph." Even though he had the wind behind him which effectively made it shorter, the # "47" got into his head. Ended up pushing it which wouldn't let it "turn over" at all downwind and come back left ... just like a pushed tee shot in golf. I swear I was thinking this was going to happen before the kick. -
