Mel's done his research. Must have staff working for him. No way he got to watch bills enough to make that in depth of an assessment. Hard to argue with it. One thing he made me realize again is just how much luck not coming out last year cost us. Odds are we'd have newton right now.
Only time I've wanted a non-bill team to win as much as I want Denver was giants vs pats super bowl to wreck their perfect season. Giants came thru. Don't see an upset this time with denver traveling to NE on a short week to face a team that easily handled them just a month ago.
I could see it except getting Jackson and re signing Stevie would mean sinking a lot into WRs this year. If they do they better make sure fitz is the guy (I have my doubts) or take franchise qb in rd 1.
Unnamed sources my guess a) the defense who think they can do no wrong and b) holmes who probably feels either he or Sanchez won't be around next year.
I don't think Sanchez will ever be elite. I see him a more of a glorified jake plummet. Not bad but not elite, which seems like a prerequisite for a ring. But I do think he's getting way more blame than he deserves.
Don't count pro-bowl center Mangold amongst them.
“That’s the thing that really bothered me about the article,” Mangold said. “It was saying that he was lazy and didn’t put the work in, felt complacent. It couldn’t be more further from the truth. The guy puts in more work and more time, cares more about the team than anybody else in that locker room. For someone to come out and say that and not put their name behind it really bothered me.”
“Mark Sanchez is my guy,” Mangold said. “He’s the one I want to go into battle with. I wouldn’t be too keen to see that being changed.”

Rex would have to modify his ways, that's for sure. I don't think Peyton would want to be a part of all the trash talking and cheap shots. If Peyton took a stand he'd go to Jets if they had a different coach, that could also be the last straw in getting Rex a ticket out of there too.
I bet they're coming from defensive players. They believe theyre the best so it must be the offense fault, especially the young QB. Reality is jets defense let them down big time in the last 3 games they all lost
Sparano I bet would love brad smith back so he could run the wild car and take some pressure off Sanchize. There must be a trade to be done here, hes not worth what they're paying him
The real story within a story is that Rex couldnt prevent schottenheimer from getting pushed out and wouldnt put his nuts on the line when push came to shove. He's billed himself as mr loyal, mr players coach, mr we're in this together. Now that that myth has been busted watch plenty of other rats leave the ship. Ulimately rex's position is in serious jeopardy now
He didn't have a choice. He got canned. Jets were hoping he'd get jags job so they wouldn't have up pay him his final year.
Schottenheimer was an ass. He often said of himself "I know I'm an excellent football coach." well no matter how many toys they gave you your offense still sucked. Chans not perfect but I'm very happy l we never got the chance to interview this loser.
As a bills fan I just would have liked to have seen jets keep him
Their mistake was not doing it for the last 2 games, where they only went 1 & 1 anyway. he was horrible on MNF with the ankle, and not needed against Browns. They screwed the playoffs not letting him heal
QB: JP Losman
RB's: McGahee, Lynch
Oline: Peters, Dochery, Walker, Hangartner, Chambers
TE: Nelson
WR's: Evans, Owens, Josh Reed, Hardy
Seriously, how is this offense any worse than what we have?
According to ponder the team told him they won't be drafting a qb, I assume that extends to taking a big name in FA too
I hear ya, 2 very different styles but both capable QBs. But Brees needed Payton's offensive oriented system to really stand out. In the context of brees holding out for more money than the saints can afford and still round out a championship quality team, if they have a healthy manning waiting in the wings for a price that works, I'd take manning and not let brees hold me ransom.
