In the limited play I got to see him last pre season he appeared to be coming along nicely and demonstrated a lot of athleticism. Reminded me of hasselback. It appears he was a victim of Chan's desire to find a spot for thigpen and get him paid for a few years.

Not me, I think theyre having a very good draft. If coples reaches his potential he'll be the best pas rusher in the draft. Same for hill at WR. They also got an LB that can start day 1 Sure you can say those are big "ifs" on coples and hill. But if Ryan can do anything it's get the most of defensive linemen. And if you listened to hills post draft interview he sounds very smart, balanced and eager to learn. Both of them can be scary good

Outside doesn't mean deep throw. Idea is to get him ball on quick out and let him run by guys, like he did on some of the highlights. Not much emphasis on route running. If he hits a few big ones it will make the defense play softer off the line. Creating space for other guys underneath.
