  1. They won one championship, single not plural, period. Manning meant more to a team/fan base than any player in the NFL and colts did the right thing moving on when they saw the writing on the wall. Not saying saints need to completely part ways like colts, but stick to their guns on a rational contract with the future in mind is what they ought to do. All the money he wants this year will be wasted because theyre not going anywhere.
  2. Wake up bro they offered him 19 this year he wants 22
  3. Brees should be thanking that team for taking him in as an injured free agent cast-off, letting him play under an offensive genius in coach Paton and surrounding him with top recieving talent. He totally let this go to his head, making it all about him and his money. I hope saints do the right thing and stand their ground.
  4. Exactly and I'm sick of the media always taking his side of things, acting like no amount is too much. When in a strict cap era that obviously can't be the case
  5. Exactly and if he were "mr good guy team player" he'd take it right now instead of trying to hold them hostage in their time of need.
  6. So I hear brees is on local radio in big easy yapping about how saints won't make him highest paid QB, he won't report until he gets a deal and saints should be all over him given their situation. Well I disagree and I think he's being a selfish punk. That argument can be flopped over and one can say he should sign the deal being offered because its the right thing to do for the team. This guy who everyone thinks is pure as the driven snow is trying to take advantage of the saints at a desperate time. Look at it from their perspective. This year they know will be a write off. So all that money brees wants will be wasted in 2012 Looking to 2013 when they get their coach back and some hope there'll likely be a rebuilding element. he'll be 34 at the start and 35 at playof time. This team needs money and cap space to rebuild, and with Brees demanding to be highest paid player he severely hampers their capacity. Not that I'm a saints fan, but because breeis being such a selfish ass, I hope they hold their ground and do what's economically rational and right for that team in the longer run, and make him play this season on the 1 year franchise tag. .
  7. Wonder where she kept her cards and cash if she needed to buy something ? Lol
  8. I was having a drink with a friend at the bar when someone told us BC was in the locker room by himself. He'd played the front 9 and hurt his back and was waiting for his playing partners to finish the back 9. I didn't want bother him but my friend had other ideas so next thing I know we're in the locker room intro'ing ourselves and shooting the breeze lol
  9. I forgot who she was with, not that tall Actor Dude. I think she was in buffalo because there was a writer of some sort she was meeting, or maybe her man was from buffalo. It was early 90's, long time ago. I sat next to her in the waiting area
  10. Definitely exciting meeting the pres (former when I met him).
  11. Either met or were right next to. I'm not one to intro myself or ask for signature etc so most for me were of the right next to variety. The only exception was bill Clinton, which was at the prodding of a friend. If I were to expand it to people I saw from xx blocks away list would probably double
  12. * in new York city unless otherwise noted Frank Gifford Howard cosell OJ Simpson Matt dillon Robert de Niro (sat next to at restaurant and walked by on street) Jackie O JFK jr (played flag football against in central park) Liv Tyler Christy turlington Brooke shields *Susan sarandon (buffalo airport) *Matt lauer (played golf with on long island) Campbell brown (worked out next to at yoga class) Andy Rooney (sat next to at reataurant ) Michael imperioli (was in my place ) Larry king *Bill clinton (met at golf club in new jersey) Mike Tyson Bill walton Al sharpton Bridget Moynihan (sat next to at sports bar watching pats @ bills game in 2006 when she was still seeing brady lol) Martha Stewart (rode elevator with, big woman!) Gina gershon * billy Sheehan (backstage before a concert in buffalo) * jumbo Elliott ( at car racing event in Poconos. Good guy when he found out I was from buffalo he asked "didnt you guys have a kicker named Nor-wad?") lol
  13. B smith, Thurman (except for the 2 fumbles in super bowl 4), Mario Clarke for body slamming mercury Morris, Bennett (wished his sack total hadn't tailed off) and andre reed (love the slot TDs, but wish he hadnt come up tiny in super bowls)
  14. I think players will be voted to receive the honor but no game will be played.
  15. Dude looks great in a Bills uniform.
  16. Barring injury in training camp, I have little doubt fitz is the starter. It's the regular season scenario where the teams not doing well and theyre looking to make a change where VY might get the ball. Realistically that wasn't an option with thigpen .
  17. That does appear the trade off. Given a choice id have to go with arm. Eli and rodger have great arms but dont strike me as defense reading geniuses like Brady, brees or Peyton. Brees doesn't have the deep ball of the others but hes deadly accurate out to about 40 yards. Ben has a good arm and but not a tactician, keeps plays alive with his feet. I could see VY being that style. I honestly don't care who is starter btw fitz and young, I just want who ever is best for the team.
  18. Lol @ VY having tons more to prove than fitz, when VY single handedly won the BCS over heavily favored USC, is a physical specimen freak, has a winning record and been to 2 pro bowls.
  19. "The guy's been to two Pro Bowls, he's 31-19 as a starter in this league," Nix said. "We think he can do that again." And if he does he's all but assured of being the starter because fitz isn't going to be named a pro bowler any time soon Inpoetant parallels between the bills and jets QB situations: teams that are solid up and down except for serious question marks at the QB positions. Successful QBs brought in as "backups" with both teams overly emphasizing the backup role because everyone with a clue knows theyre here to push the starter
  20. Thankfully this story isnt about Ed Kilgore
  21. Vince Young 6'5" 235 lb 4.58/40 QB WOW Without doubt best athlete we've ever had at that position.
  22. He also was early on Kyle bowler being a bum. Look I don't care what he said I'm only responding this because of what I see. And that as stated is that young is here to push and challenge fitz. The backup/thigpen thing is a smokescreen
  23. Exactly why I think this is more about fitz than thig. You can make excuses why thig deserves another year as back up. But he has no chance of pushing fitz. This team does not want fitz to get too comfortable or secure in his position.
  24. No way. It's not like they're entirely sold on VY it's that they're not sold on fitz. VY has no leverage right now than a 1yr deal.
