  1. Sorry for your loss. She's in a better place now though. You know when it's time.
  2. I know cops went overboard, but I always thought he was a big p#*@k. Excessive speeding thru residential neighborhoods and leading police on a wild goose chase, resisting arrest. He was far from innocent.
  3. Poor FT shooting was one of the reasons. Durant missing 2 in a row like he didn't care.
  4. Wow with all those heat turnovers in the 4th qtr and OKC still can't take advantage of it. Have to wonder if they're a good as advertised.
  5. I clearly took it as early earth and the explanation for how their DNA got here. Btw the setting really is a place on earth: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dettifoss#section_1
  6. Just saw, only see a handful of movies at theatre every year, but I was a big fan of the 1st alien and also the Greek character/play this was named after, so I had to see it. it's good not great. Best part was the opening, an entire movie so visually compelling and natural, yet creepy and with scientific references (DNA Strand) would have been great. It was a downer when they went back into Hollywood formula mode after that. My biggest problem character/cast wise was Charlize Theron. The role/her acting was so rigid and artificial it diluted the films overal credibility. Yes shes gorgeous, but having her parade around as ships captain like a model on a runway complete with intense look was silly. Putting that aside, most of the other main characters were reasonably well played. It's obviously hollywoods attempt to capitalize on the popularity of history channels "ancient aliens" and having Scott as director makes it AA meets aliens. I think they did a respectful job integrating the two themes. I am however suspicious that they've setup a series of progressively worse and endless sequels because they tease the audience by raising questions they don't answer. Expect that formula to continue. Didn't spot any insurmountable plot holes, but there was an inconsistency with the ancient earth texts pointing to the planet they're from, only to find out later theyre not actually from there. Lol ok
  7. It's ok when I read about the tether requirement took a lot of the interest out of it. Really what was the point? See more impressive acts from gymnasts on balance beams.
  8. Blondin went to the United States in 1855.[2] He was engaged by William Niblo to perform with the Ravel troupe in New York City and was subsequently part proprietor of a circus.[3] He especially owed his celebrity and fortune to his idea of crossing the gorge below Niagara Falls on a tightrope, 1100 feet (335 m) long, 3¼ inches in diameter, 160 feet (50 m) above the water. This he accomplished, first on 30 June 1859, a number of times, always with different theatric variations: blindfolded, in a sack, trundling a wheelbarrow, on stilts, carrying a man (his manager, Harry Colcord) on his back, sitting down midway while he cooked and ate an omelet and standing on a chair with only one chair leg on the rope.[4] http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Blondin#section_1 I wonder exactly where this crossing was made
  9. Biggest farce I've ever seen in sports was Roy jones jr losing a decision and a gold medal to the Korean fighter when the Olympics were held in Korea. In my simplified definition it was a conspiracy because it involved multiple people and coordination.
  10. Makes no sense. OKC never would have been allowed to come all the back like they did. If KD makes the FG it goes to OT, if they kick it out to harden and he drains another 3 OKC win.
  11. Yeah like how about the type of charge they had been calling all night except on durant when he leveled battier because that would have meant fouling him out? A case can be made he should have been out of the game before even attempting that shot at the end
  12. You need to stop living in the past and learn to let go of the hate lol
  13. I don't hate lebron at all, think he's awesome on the court and a good guy off it. But on wade's post season performance, have to realize he's got a knee injury which the team is playing it very close to the vest disclosing the status of. That more than anything may account for a lot of his problems. To my recollection he's only had 3 quality games from start to finish the entire post season. He needs to pull off at least that many in this series for heat to have any chance.
  14. I agree in the NBA it's not selective. They just don't call it anymore
  15. Not just travelling but palming too. MJ got away with both. I think they keep them on the books just so you don't have someone taking it up the court like a running back.
  16. Wouldn't think those are so set in stone. Don't you think winning championships has something to do with it? Giants win super bowls, jets don't Yankees win world series, mets don't Islanders and devils ARE NOT New York teams, not in name or location, never been.
  17. It's an interesting question. I'm a Knicks fan but let's say by some miracle nets assemble a team with talent like OKC. The Bkln arena is very accessible from manhattan so of course I'd want to see some games. At a minimum changing the location and substituting Brooklyn for new jersey should add a cross town rivalry like mets and yanks, jets and giants have.
  18. Heat have to keep the pedal to the metal on offense the whole game. West coast OKC is going to score 100+ every night. Can't sit on a lead or think James is going to will a win all by himself like against those celtics plodders. Still though if heat hadn't gone stone cold shooting in the 4th qtr it would have been close. Looking forward to game 2
  19. Idk anyone who'd been with michael Jackson would kind of freak me out
  20. lol I'd like to say I didn't laugh, but I did
  21. yeah he's impressive, but doesn't anyone else think there've been several NFL FBs and even some LBs that would look as good in that setting? Jamal Lewis, Jerome Bettis, Larry Czonka, Steven Jackson, Brandon Jacobs, Junior Seau? Honestly I just think you're seeing an NFL-quality athlete in Rugby, call me a snob in "our" sport, I am, but still I've seen a number of guys on his level.
  22. Good for them. I hope they steal a win from Pats this year and he shines in it
  23. Some good commentary on state of America. Btw that guy has balls for making that speech with risk of being fired, for reasons he touched on.
