Hotsy Totsy went down in 2005 at just 52. The stress of Being a sweat hog took its toll on them. -

Crazy question but ill play: Bruce Smith. If your guys on the oline arent big enough to buy some time it doesn't matter how agile and quick the other guys are. And Bruce was plenty quick and agile for his size. Same holds true for defense: if your front 3/4 cant hold their own and penetrate you'll get ripped when the offense gets into the 2nd and 3rd level. -
Wheels of auto bailout were already set in Motion under bush. Just like the wall street bailouts. Complete transparent partisan BS that will backfire if repubs go hard down that path. Just opens the door for BO to revisit the mess he inherited. Where he's vulnerable is the borrow from China and give money to the states program that was all his doing. It was pitched as a stimulus program when it can be reviewed as a political favor / adding to fed deficit/ example of poor understanding of economics that merely delayed cities and states having to come to terms with their own bloated budgets.

Lol @ equating 5'10" Wilson to 6'5" heisman trophy winner newton. Actually make that double lol lol -
I never said I disliked the Ryan pick for Romney. Far from it, it was the pick he had to make to have a chance given his slide in the polls and base starting to turn on him. But by shoring up the base and inheriting ryans plan the middle has been ceded to Obama. Romney must convince enough voters of the merit of his plan rather than modify it to suit voter preferences. Odds are he won't pull it off (I agree with camp BOs assessment), but at least with this pick he has a chance.
-
Obamas comments on the Ryan pick were telling. He praised him for being a decent family man and articulate politician. But that they have fundamental differences on the budget and economy. Obamas folks must be confident the majority will reject the Ryan plan and he wants to box them into that position. By not really having a defined philosophy BO has an advantage: he can be flexible whereas comprise from romney and Ryan will be seen as abandoning their ideology and base.

In the scrimmage like atmosphere of early pre season a little scrambler like Wilson will look his best. The value of that will diminish with the offensive sophistication and defensive game planning of reg season. Nearly all coaches know this -

Or an African American kid from a broken home works his way up and graduates from Harvard law school. And gets harassed over his birth certificate, gets called a Muslim even though he's not and as if it should matter in th first place, and his wife is the butt of racial tinged remarks from the leading conservative commentator. But yeah funny we never hear your disgust over that. -
You don't get it (again). Romney has been runnig around aaying it's essential a president have private sector track record to lead the economy, so how he's going to defend his pick for VP? Ryans private sector "experience" was driving the Oscar Meyer weiner truck and a brief stint with a window dressing "market research" position at his family's company?

Her face is nothing to look at, but that she's willing to display her private parts in a "complete vulgar and indecent manner," has to count for something.

I read Romney is already leaving some wiggle room vs Ryan's plan calling it something like a "good starting point". Even Romney may not be inept enough to think you can jack medicare, while lowering taxes for the wealthiest. Looks like they're showing some compromise on social issues too like gay marriage http://timeswampland...00&h=400&crop=1

Disagree this "seals" it for Obama. It's the move Romney had to make to give himself a chance. The other choices would have been more of a "sealer" It's a tough one for sure. I think it will require making concessions on tax policy. But can they do that given how set in their ways they seem ? I think the base would accept entitlement reductions for a standstill on taxes, but not tax increases, which the dems will demand especially on higher incomes.
-
He had no choice, veep pick was dictated by his sinking in the polls. Had his strategy of hang back and remain vague on platform while benefitting from anti-incumbent/Obama sentiment been working, he'd have gone with a more neutral choice like Portman. To stop the ship from crashing on the rocks near term he needed to solidify the base and define a platform, the latter he did by inheriting Ryan's. But this adds more risks longer term that need to be managed that camp Romney didn't envision taking

We never should have paid fitz all that money. He's a career backup, scares no one. All that money knowing what he is was ridiculous. Should have kept our powder dry and signed Flynn from packers who Seattle got for less than we paid Fitz ! Sure he hasn't played a lot but his performances were oustanding and his upside unknown and potentially huge. -
Not sure what the "liberals" version comment pertains to (probably dont want to), but the rest of your post I pretty much agree with. Like I said earlier the challenge will be merging Ryan's candor with Romney's negative tax associations and grandiose foreign/defense policy visions. IMO at this time Mitt is a liability to the ticket, wonder if it's too late to switch them!

I don't even have to bother challenging your "keep ramping up defense, slash everything else" plan (that's what I think you''re saying), even though I find it GROTESQUELY flawed. My post is about realpolitics and Romney's election chances in light of the VP pick. Platform highlighting: lower taxes for the rich, send medicaire/cade packing to the private sector, keep ramping up defense for the next "great war" ... IS NOT GOING TO FLY WITH THE MAJORITY. No way, no how. Wouldn't even reach McCain's 46% popular vote total. Seriously do you want your guy to win, or just to run a doomed platform and hand the election to a guy you personally cannot stand?

LOL you idiot, it was Romney and the Republicans who decided to make it the leading foreign policy wedge issue! "On Sunday, the Romney campaign aired its first foreign policy television ad, which focused on Israel and on Obama’s apparent refusal “to recognize Jerusalem as its capital.” The final shot in the 30-second spot shows Mitt Romney standing before Jerusalem’s Old City walls during his visit to Israel last week, saying, “It’s a deeply moving experience to be in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel.” http://www.timesofisrael.com/us-elections-shine-a-light-on-jerusalem/

IMO he had to make this choice in an attempt to diminish the "old white conservative looking" guys ticket. America doesn't want that exclusively in the White House any more. Without being able to find an acceptable female or minority, he had to go with the youngest acceptable white guy. Fine with me, because Ryan appears the most sincere budget/deficit cutter of the lot ... more so than Mitt, that's for sure. The problem is that his detailed plan calls for a reduction on the highest tax rates from 35% to 25%, and an elimination of capital gains tax. This will reinforce the negative tax image of Romney that BO camp branded on his forehead this summer, and I have a sense the majority of the country is not buying into trickle down tax theory. They also have to explain how they will manage Mitt's super-hawk policy (and even Ryan is sponsoring legislation committing to Israel's defense), while at the same time seriously cutting the budget. Real fiscal responsbility will require major across the board REDUCTIONS, not just slowing of rate increases, the moment politicians start making carve outs for pet projects and their most beholden special interests, it's history. Perhaps its my own bias showing thru, but if they can come across as sincere, unbiased budget cutting deficit eliminators, they have a chance to bring all the Ron Paul/Tea Partyists back into the fold, hopefully not lose too much of the base (the Israel and defense lovers may revolt, but go where?), and independants and even some Democrats who realize that kind of approach is the only way we get off the fiscal cliff we're looking at. Long shot given our current state of politics, but here's hoping it's possible
