  1. Pressure to carry 4 QBs (given how decent Thigpen looked, and how green Jackson is, + Chan's commitment to keep Smith), and desire to keep more WRs on the 53 gets Lindell waived in favor of Potter. Keeping 2 kickers is stupid. Take the guy who isn't limited, especially with the shorter kickoff rules. Potter's a perfect 8 for 8 on no returns.
  2. Didnt watch the RNC tonight but heard a lot of yapping from CNN how horrible and awkward Eastwood was. Watched replay and it seemed good to me. It was refreshing that it wasnt scripted, unlike all the other canned crap served up. And the guy's 82, geez cut him some slack. He was certainly a lot more genuine and even more coherent than the headliners.
  3. I agree there's a good chance he clears waivers at this time of year. I'm referring to getting lifted off our PS from another team during the season. Its not unusual for WRs & TEs to get taken from PS by another team, especially inexperienced ones. You get the other teams playbook & a guy with some potential upside, for usually not a lot of money. All 3 teams in our divison for example could be looking for a big WR that can get deep ... Pats never really solved it since Moss left and clearly they're trying, Jets tried to by drafting Hill and hes had butterfingers in preseason, amd Fins are totally depleted after trading Marshal.
  4. At his size and potential though I see him getting picked off by another team from our PS. If you want him gotta keep on the 53
  5. You guys laugh but after the early pick 6 he's gotten better and better as the game goes on. I'm. impressed how hes bounced back. He can make a greater variety of throws than Fitz.
  6. From what I saw the replacements were getting better each week. I wouldn't expect much difference after a few more weeks. Which doesnt bode well for the regs negotiating position. Those begging for the regs to come back should really think back to all the messed up calls they made last year. Couple come to mind was plax mugging of mckelvin on a critical jets TD when it was clearly offensive PI, and Florence getting flagged for unnecessary roughness PF for even thinking about hitting Brady after he was picked off. It was so absurd Florence could be seen laughing at the ref on the field.
  7. Well the coaches are obviously making a lot of decisions based on preseason
  8. I'm just asking what happens if he comes out and looks great. Because we haven't had a QB all preseason that's looked even decent. You can't see it creating questions when we have a guy with a lock on 3 spot of dubious QB value, a guy on the 2 spot whose already tagged as a career backup and whose just getting fitted for bills uni now, and a guy with a supposed lock on the 1 spot whose played like s big pile of number 2 this preseason.
  9. But you guys all love Chan and his backing of fitz. Must be something he saw in thigpen too. Thigpens had a lot of time to learn the offense and be knows this is a make or break performance for him. So again what if shines brightly ? Can bills so easily part ways given what they seen out of Fitz this preseason, being backed up by a total newcomer in Jackson ?
  10. Ryan what. dork. Such a hollow sound bight speech from a guy whose touted as substance ? C'mon man. Love how he quotes jack kemp for supply side economics since the real Father of it and former regan budget director stockman crapped all over Romney and Ryan in a recent op Ed piece. Lol like anyone really cares what jack kemp thinks anymore.
  11. I know it's unlikely, but let's say with his back to the wall, Thigpen comes out and really lights it up. Looks like the 2nd coming of Montana. Clearly provides Bills with the best QB performance we've seen not only in the preseason, but in several years. Jackson's on a renogiated contract so I reckon he's safe. Does Gailey go against his promise to keep Smith #3 on the depth chart? If not, what about Fitz?
  12. Obama campaign will be all over this " ... busted for DUI and illegally possessing prescription meds ... " http://www.tmz.com/2012/08/29/jimmy-bain-dio-dui-arrest-burbank/#ixzz24z0b8Z5J
  13. I love how Broadway joe antagonizes Rex. Interesting 60 minutes piece on namath http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7M4QeiX9xnc&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  14. My recollection is the stated mission was take alive if possible. That would be consistent with the 'fair trial/due process" system we champion. But any seal trying to take him alive probably would have been demoted to latrine duty for a year.
  15. I've been curious how this went down operationally so I'll get this book. Fox are scumbags for outing him and putting him in danger. Nothing new here, fox could give a rats asa about US servieman and their families. Just looking to use them for their own agenda, be it foreign war or profit. No surprise at all the mission was only to kill him no matter what white house says. Imagine the PR spectacle if this guy was in jail and then put on trial. Huge recruiting call for al Qaeda. Not to mention the added mission risks of trying to shepherd aroid a live and defiant Bin laden into a small chopper when time is of the essence. That whole "proper Muslim burial" was obviously "fishy" too. Whatever that means in this context and with no outside verification.
  16. Lol I make a post mostly slamming Obama and I'm a communist and black militant? Hehe is it even worth trying to reason with your kind of stupidity? If you'd paid any attention at all I've been consistent defending romney from a business wealth perspective. But fact is his plan is some garbage supply side that even the god father of it stockman says wont work. If he really is that smart on economics than surely he is trying to screw the middle class to benefit the wealthy. He cheerleads for war then pulls every string to avoid serving , even whoring his religion. He craps on womens rights and makes racist statements to appease big money donor like Sheldon adelson. Yeah he's a real freaking sweetheart.
  17. From Andrew Levine, an author and scholar at a major Washington think-tank. Some key takeaways: - Obama is chameleon who made many constituents hear what they wanted, but has proven to not really stand for much - in some ways, he's a bigger hawk than Republican candidates - because this time around he has no one fooled, the only way he can get re-elected is to make the other guy seem evil - Romney is awful as a person and candidate, serving up what Obama needs to get re-elected - the two-party system is a farce and serves up only what the media and corporate elite want Americans to have - @ 40% Independents are a larger percentage of Americans than ever - even though their numbers are now large, Indepedents lack the money to compete with the media and corporate elits http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3Qi8m4BwdA&feature=g-all-u
  18. Ron Paul proves that all you have to do to be marginalized in today's America is tell the truth, serve your country when called, and support the constitution
  19. You're right a tall slow plodder is redundant to what we have. Even jets didnt keep him
  20. "Should" statements are meaningless unless you have the ability to influence a lot of followers. I don't think anyone on the board fits that bill. I actually do know people who factor in candidates wives quite heavily in their decision, so it can matter.
  21. Oh I'll be watching and rooting, and no one will be more pleased if we win than me. But if I had to put money on it, it wouldnt be on bills. Jets have the same (if not better) quality D as last year, and I'm seeing much better play out of their starting QB than ours
  22. Michelle seems like a nice woman. And clearly she's accomplished getting thru Harvard law. She's had a lot if ignorant even racially tinged slander thrown at her and managed to stay above it all. I much prefer her to the cold, spoiled country club wife Anne romney comes across as.
  23. Jets pass rush looks better with coples and this is 2nd yr in a row they've added a 1st round starter to the D line. So I'm not sure our improvements there offer any kind of advantage. But what really bothers me is watching Sanchez in their last preseason game and seeing how much better he is than Fitz. WRs dropping balls kept them out of end zone not Sanchez. If they start catching them unfortunately I see another frustrating loss to jets
  24. Just signed with raiders, primarily as kick returner
  25. How about the weather in the gulf area stirring up images of Katrina and a negative association with bush Romney'd rather not have? I think the media like Anderson cooper got away with murder painting an image of insufficient response on an uncaring George bush, but fact is they did and after Akin-gate another negative association this is last thing Romney needs right now Ghost of Katrina hovers over Republican National Convention in Tampa http://www.tampabay.com/news/politics/stateroundup/ghost-of-katrina-hovers-over-republican-national-convention-in-tampa/1248241
