How is it even possible to play with a torn ACL? -
WOW! CJ Spiller practices and expects to play

@hopeless, Nope and as a matter of fact right after the game gailey was saying doesn't look all that serious, maybe a week or two out. Of course when spillers rolling around on the field and holding his arm still like a mummy staff will take all precautions. But upon examination, both preliminary and follow up, they reported it wasn't as serious as people thought per spillers reaction. But somehow to the herd that's 2nd guessing the medical staff. Lol ok -
So all those in this thread saying he left for the money are wrong? That was my understanding too. Would like to see the articles/sources saying he was offered matching deal from bills

How is is 2nd guessing bills medical staff? They said it wasnt that serious all along. Lol and i guess you missed the post in this thread from newera re: "I'm with you on this one joe ... ". Not that I need reinforcement just pointing out your blatant inattention to detail. I dont play the "you're alone/in the minority on this" card. Consensus doesnt mean correct. Not all that long ago the consensus thought the world was flat. Going along with the herd is often just unimaginitive, uninsightul, "safe" position taking from those lacking the ability to think for themselves or cajones to defend a minority position. -
Not sure that is the general consensus. But even if true doesn't mean they've made the right move in every Case. Merriman and troupe a couple of undeniable clunkers, for example. In poz's case I think it was more than just money. I dont think they expressed to him any real great desire in keeping him or appreciation for his skills. If they had I bet they could have resigned him for less before he even hit FA market. I don't think hes elite like lewis (used to be) just that he's meaningfully better than shepperd and playing behind that line would have provided the presence we need in the LB corp to be an elite defense.

Bruschi picks the Bills?!?!?!?!?

Good I like that. BB's always been uncomfortable with media and Kraft hates public controversy. I think the media scrutiny during spy gate year wore down and distracted BB and accounted for some really bad decisions he made in the super bowl loss to g men. Let's hope the incident with official and $50k fine has a similar effect this week. -

In my mind I do ... opinions opinions opinions. Something you offer up constantly (and often more declaratively with "you have no reason" blah blah statements), but fail to respect in others. And fyi its not necessarily questioning his pain threshold, just his reaction to the injury , which isnt necessarily pain related. The college and pro stuff doesn't matter... plenty of instances of pros questioning pros toughness and he'd also been relatively injury free at every level prior to last Sunday. Which could explain what we now know was an over reaction. Let's hope the injury free part stays that way. As for a change in your arrogant preachiness? Highly doubtful -

Yeah and it sounds like you're defending him so you are making judgement. And if you back off that then you're still making judgement that I'm not in a position to have an opinion. Most of the posts on this board are people offering opinions, a primary use of message boards. Telling people they have no right to have one is pointless and contradictory. -

Hate to say it but I thought he was over reacting to the injury in the first place. I'm not all that surprised he's back sooner than later. It's nfl football, everybody has something. Got to play thru it whenever possible. -

I read he Asked to be released. Apparently the knee pain is too much for him. Quite possibly that was his last game. Sad ending to what could have been a brilliant career. -

Jets built one of the best defenses in the league aroun a defensive back. Going into a game knowing you will shut down the oppositions #1 WR benefits all facets of your defense. My vision for Peterson was lining up at strong safety, which would further make him integral to run defense, as a 5th LB @ times. Kind of like how steelers use Troy polamulu, just bigger and faster. And of course if you make a mistake and he gets the ball in his hands, he'll take it to the house better than anyone since Deion -

What's the deal with gronk? All of his numbers are down from last year. I know it's early but still on the field doesn't seem to be quite the force he used to be. Is he still bothered by the high ankle sprain ? Teams paying more attention to him? Whatever it is I hope he doesn't turn it around against us this week. -
And if you trace back in most threads I think you'll find it's the fitz apologists initially interjecting his name. That's what well past the point of tiresome
-
Exactly all about the arm. Fitz has one throw, the hard flat slider. Has no touch on short ones like screens to ease it over defender. Lacks an arc on mid range Sideline throws. His longer ones are bloopy and run out of has because he lacks strength. It's so clear
-
I thought too but when you look back its not really the case. He missed a good part of rookie season with broken arm. But after his 2nd break he was back on the field in 5 games. Don't think he's missed a game since. If that makes him injury prone to the point of giving up on, then same can be said for m Williams, kyle Williams, mckelvin, Barnett, and others.
-
I posted same earlier few days ago. Think he'd be a significant upgrade over Sheppherd and maybe all we'd need to be elite ... better sideline to sideline lateral mobility and more physical. Just what you need in a 4-3 MLB

Thing is with kick off losing a lot of relevance, the punting game has become relatively more important. A good punting game and its influence on field position can be absolutely decisive to victory
