  1. Idk recall my exact words but I don't think it was ever "he's not very good". That would be Ryan fitzapllpatrick. But I dont think he belongs in the upper echelon with Brady, Manning and Rodgers either ... a handful of guys behind them. Who are still damn good. What i did say is that his success had a lot do to with coach payton too whom I think is brilliant on offense. Look at breeds from San Diego to saints and you see a much more complete qb IMO. All of which adds to my contention what an ungrateful greed monger he is, acting like he rode into town and did it all singelhandly.
  2. Not a huge fan of hypocrits, that's all. You can argue who would have stayed or went all you want, but bottom line Brees that held that team hostage for a few extra mill a year in their time of desperate need for a leader, when they had already offered to make him the highest paid player at his position. I called it before and even you'd have to admit, that this year was going to be a write-off for them. 4 weeks in that should be clearer to everyone now. When he turned down their offer and went public with his manipulations, they should have stuck to their franchise tag. Done deal ... save all that money and for new blood, which they need. If he refuses to report, his problem and make a lot of "fans" finally wake up to the real Drew Brees. Thats what a premier franchise like Pats would have done ... gotta respect them for that, and realize its a huge key to their long term success. Instead Saints are stuck eating his huge contract in a year thats a write-off, and it will hamper them in future attempts to rebuild.
  3. Yeah Brees performing at a whopping 25 points QB rating below his 2011 level is the D's fault.
  4. Finally, someone in the media calling a spade a spade. Adam Schein @ NFL.com: "The Saints offered Brees more than the $18.5 million per season Tom Brady and Peyton Manning make. They offered him a $30 million signing bonus. New Orleans offered Brees the second-highest amount of guaranteed money in NFL history in the first three years of his deal. Brees didn't ask for $20 million per season as a response to the New Orleans offer. He countered by demanding $23 million per season." "Because Brees didn't sign the deal, the Saints couldn't franchise all-pro guard Carl Nicks, who left to go to Tampa. Cornerback Tracy Porter also left. Marques Colston came back, but Robert Meachem, excellent at stretching the field, fled to San Diego." "Brees also could have been the guy to focus and aid the Saints during the bounty scandal this offseason. But he didn't .... using the bounty scandal to swing the court of public opinion in his corner." http://www.nfl.com/n...ns-saints-start
  5. yet you give Bush a pass for the largest terror attack against US in history occurring on his watch?
  6. On one hand he's deflecting criticism away from himself but OTH his message to players is needed. They've been coddled too much with coaches taking the blame for everything. You're an NFL player getting paid a lot Of money to do a job. Man up and do something out there. We need some coaches who will get after them. Get away from chans "the scheme is the thing" mentality.
  7. He's right. Tannehill is only 2nd to Brady in AFC East. Its funny how Fitz apologusts always use excuses like the oline, receivers etc etc for his poor performances, but won't cut any slack to s rookie with 4 career starts on a team in clear rebuild mode. And BTW on potential alone Wilson and definitely Weeden over Fitz. We've seen what Fitz can do and it aint much.
  8. but he wants an added $2 trillion for the military to "defend" against irans imaginary nuclear bomb program ... lol
  9. FuRyk showed signs of not having it anymore coming down stretch at us open. Didn't expect that always thought of him as one of the toughest competitors. Seems like Ryder cup supports it wasn't a Fluke.
  10. I wonder how this would have scored: "Are the Bills better off now than they were 4 years ago?"
  11. Obama regaining some ground giving credit to Romneycare. makes him look like he's nonpartisan on important items. Mitt needed to back off. Im still scoring Romney ahead on points, but the gap is a lot closer now
  12. obamas starting to regain territory with a slower, simpler delivery. romney needed to do that after getting ahead early. hes tossing out too many #'s for viewers to process.
  13. I think he and Michelle had a wet & wild all nighter celebrating the 20th
  14. Romney should have shut up and not spoken last. He'd scored some points already. The last segment sounded like a bunch of sound bites and made him come across as a bore.
  15. So Romney still supports trickle down economics or he doesn't now? confused ...
  16. Who cares it happens and it was 3 & 1/2 years ago. The regime that drafted him is no longer here. He's moved on and so should you and others. Or continue to wallow in your bitterness. Choice is yours.
  17. It's unbelievable isn't the way some people live in the past around here, and hold grudges against former players. Like its maybins "fault" he was drafted too high. What's he going to say: "what hold on bills. I don't belong here. Not enough body of work, somewhat undersized. I'm more like a 3rd or 4th round project. I respectfully decline your selection of me. "
  18. Why would Someone be a "genius" for calling spiller on a 1st and goal run up the middle, when you have other bigger, healthier backs on the bench?WHen I saw him get the call I hEld my breath and a few seconds later unfortunately exhaLed with a bunch of expletives. This "and if It worked he's a genius" card is over played Around here. If it worked he would have been lucky that's all
  19. I dont know how hes doing now (don't commit much time to following former players). But I wish we still had him. None of our linebackers have the speed to be effective in blitz packages like he does. Doesn't matter that putting him on the field telegraphs we're blitzing ... it's no secret Pittsburgh have been blitzing more than anyone for decades, and it hasn't stopped them from having one of the best defenses in the league year in and year out.
  20. Per NFL.com team source is saying he has a lisfranc injury and is almost certainlay done for the season. As much as I dislikae jets gotta feel for them. Odds are rapidly increasing we see tebow as starter. Not all sanchez fault. But qb will take most of the blame for what looks like a bad record in the making. I say no later than week 9 tebow takes over
  21. Chan made a good point though. Both of their backups have experience starting. I don't expect a huge drop off, if at all.
  22. He was never a dynamic edge rusher like a freeney, peppers or Jared Allen. Their best sack years all excess his by a lot. His value is being anall around quality player who can occupy space, rush and play the run. He is who I thought. Hes a good edition , just he and the entire defense have to learn how to play together, with new guys/new coach/new system. I have little doubt the line and secondary will improve all season. Its the linebackers that concern me
  23. Follow the vikes blue print and run on them. Run is something we can do. 9ers offense can't run it up like pats. I think we make a much better showing this week. Not ready to predict a win but I think we at least have a legit shot late into the 4th.
