  1. The spectre of sucking bad on 3rd down defense has returned.
  2. he showed up at a touch football game we were having. My friend recorded it ...
  3. Not exactly what I was after but I know some people are sensitive around here. But since you brought it up let's see if we can make some observations about how to acquire an all important franchise QB (the 6 guys in my OP claim the last 9 SB rings ). - All but one* was a 1st round selection. I think of breed as 1st round because although he was technically 2nd round he was 32nd overall. For those that don't want to accept that fine, then I'll just say "top 32". - two of them (brees and pmanning) were acquired as FA's. In both cases there were injury concerns. So it would seem like overwhelming evidence that a franchise QB comes from round 1... Dont bother trying to get cute and llok for someone who falls to round 2 or 3. The rookie salary cap makes it even more compelling than ever to take one due to limited financial risk. And if a former Rd1 whose performed at pro level is available due to injury concern, they're worth a try.
  4. IMO most everyone's short list would include: Brady Brees PManning Next with the greatest support (but not on all lists): EManning Rodgers Roethlisberger I don't think any other vets make it, and rookies (RG3, Luck, etc) too early to include. Be interested what others think.
  5. thats brutal where they steal the live baby duck from the mother and eat it. Didnt need to see that
  6. fletcher never had the injuries urlacher did, quite the opposite. Entirely different builds too .... Fletcher: short, stocky, fire hydrant of muscle; Urlacher: long and lean
  7. 35 next year and often injured. No, sorry, he's not the answer we're looking for
  8. He's the media face and marketing force of that franchise. If you want to prove your assumption that his influence is strictly proportional there to equity position show us the proportional coverage of the other 99 & 14/15th% owners.
  9. Yeah the jersey I'm disappointed with is Brooklyn nets. I thought a good marketer like jz would go for something more creative and colorful. The dumbed down all black looks like a cheap high school uniform and too similar to spurs. I guess jz was going for some kind of dark tough look but IMO its a fail. http://expressnba.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Deron-Williams-takes-a-look-at-the-monitor-thinks-his-new-tat-looks-a-ok-expressnba-deron-williams-new-brooklyn-jersey-nets-express-nba-news3.jpg http://m.gq.com/style/blogs/the-gq-eye/2012/10/you-can-bid-on-it-jay-zs-4-brooklyn-nets-jersey.html
  10. I think its fine. Pelicans are pretty bad ass when you think about it. I'm also sick of worn out names like "knights" "stars" "wolves" "avengers" etc etc. At least pelicans is something different
  11. I agree our mix is fine. Problem is we dont have a good enough pass game to capitalize on our strong run game. Also wonderwhy when the line was healthy we werent better at getting needed short yards up the middle.
  12. Serious question: how far do you think jets would have gotten with fitz at QB those 2 years?
  13. Why wasnt that PI on denver on the 2 point try?
  14. Officials have it in for Raiders
  15. does it matter? where are they going with palmer. They have to find a QB for the future.
  16. If not for everything they gave up to get him, I doubt hed be starting right now
  17. More nonsense talk. Like saying "tom Brady was drafted that late for a reason." Or "jamarcus Russell was drafted 1 overall for a reason." Yeap where you're drafted is the final determination of what you do as a pro RATHER than what you actually do as a pro. Unreal
  18. No way they ask for a 1st. Other than a relatively modest contract they gave up nothing to get him. And they went with a rookie over him. Too much ammo to use against them to ask for a 1st and they know it. And you're argument about trading for a QB is nonsense. Every situation is different. By your logic since ,most QBs drafted never make it long term, we should never draft a QB either.
  19. I''m in, wanted him in the off season. he would have given us hope. But a bizarre logic was used to conclude that because he excelled in his 3 starts, set records, and won accolades from his team mates, he was most certainly a one hit wonder. Like he would have been better off registering 3 mediocre outings?
  20. I like Suh. Like his talent , attitude and game. In the old days he'd be labelled a hard nose tough football player. Butkus was idolized for worse
  21. I think theyre going to LA. Yes there are less supported franchises like jaguars but theyre not for sale. Bills are most likely next franchise for sale, I don't expect any favors from ralphs heirs for buffalo, and the economics of LA should exceed those of buffalo.
