  1. Lol at all the stuff in this thread. The humor on this board and in the media now that the season is over is hysterical
  2. Why can't we ever do that ? Run for a TD from the 1 or 2 yard line behind the guard and center.
  3. yeah, Gruden praises him because he deserves it. super powerful, wide body, high motor, nasty, disciplined, not too tall so gets leverage .... what a beast. I give Wood all the credit in the world for playing that guy as well as he does
  4. I still see pats being about a 2 pt favorite on neutral turf, but it should be a good close game.
  5. Bills were penalized twice for a total of 15 yards. I'd hardly call that refs throwing the game. Bills threw game by not being able to close out a game at home where they never trailed until under a minute left
  6. Good point but 31-21 win by pats in NE I wouldn't count as "spank". In any case it was early in the season and with manning still getting his feet wet in Denver I'm not placing much on that game
  7. Be a good test of the Texans if they're really ready to step up and hang with the big boys. If they suffer a definitive loss IMO AFC comes down to pats and broncos, with ravens dropping out. Then we're back to Brady vs manning ... hhhmmmm
  8. I hope for the best too and wanted them to win yesterday. But since they didn't get there's also a relief aspect. That's all I'm saying.
  9. I can certainly understand this perspective. What in saying is in my heart of hearts I knew this team didn't have it this year. Its a relief not having to torture myself any longer pretending they did while suffering thru one poor outing after another.
  10. Its not wholly self fulfilling but I see your point there's an element of cause and effect. However its not definitive. No one was calling dilfer and Brad johnson elite just for winning a SB. And no one is saying Marino wasn't elite for being ringless. But rings are and IMO should be an important consideration
  11. yeah it was a ticky tack call, but it happens to EVERY TEAM IN THE LEAGUE. Good ones can overcome a few bad calls. We had the turnover and momentum still, it was our inability to fully capitalize on it that's the problem
  12. oh geez, so now that your draft "analysis" doesn't work, you're trying to stretch it to an unsupported argument including free agents too. LOL ... this points to the obsession you have against secondary personnel that myself and others have pointed out many times
  13. Are you talking "corners" as in coverage guys or including anyone in the secondary such as free and strong safeties? Because you realize of course the latter grouping would have anywhere from a 2 to 1, to 6 to 1 ratio of corners to DT's on the field depending on defensive formation. So it stands to reason one would draft more secondary players than DTs. if it's only strict coverage guys, theyve drafted about the same # of DTs and CBs in the first 2 rounds.
  14. Excellent point: these last 3 games we perfect time to get a rookie some starts like eagles are doing with foles. But would have happened only IF Chan conceded fitz wasnt the guy
  15. Sure I was po'd at first because the way we lost and because a win would have put us just a game behind steelers and Bengals in the WC race, after they both lost today. But let's be honest, this team wasnt going anywhere and didn't deserve to be in post season this year. The longer they remained relevant, the more aggrivating it was, and the more time and energy I wasted on s futile endeavor. At least theres clarity on whats needed in the off season and the preparation can start now . And if I happen to catch some of their games on TV I can sit back and enjoy the play better knowing nothings at stake.
  16. I wondered about the ruling on that. IMO it should be a sack based on where you stopped the qb and caused a fumble, not by where its recovered , which is randon. In the opposite scenario where a QB scrambles passed the LOS , fumbles, and its recovered behind the LOS, that's not a sack.
  17. Its a great question. I was wondering myself today why is it some teams can consistently close the deal and some can't. My guess it comes down to confidence and play calling/coaching Confidence because there's a history and vision of successes in the pass. And coaching because the better coaches will save the best for last, or at least let crunch time bring out the best insights from what they've been observing the whole game I read one of the rams players said they wanted it more today. I have a hard time relating to that because I can't imagine why bills or any team would want it less. But if true begs the question why didn't bills want it as bad as rams
  18. 2 mistakes: - over estimating fitz - demands on drafting for 3-4 conversion
  19. That he always complains about drafting secondary high saying we should only go for linemen , while ignoring the failings of dradting linemen. BTW mckelvin as a decent backup CB and best return man in the game , contributes more to bills than dareus and troupe combined.
  20. Dont forget weeden. Browns have same record as bills now, 1 win more than last year with 3 to play
  21. Lol not to excuse what Vick did, but I agree there's way too much of the character BS from the fans, and far too little get the best athlete mentality.
  22. Don't look now but rams quietly putting together a good first year under Fischer. .500 record with 3 games left, and have proven they can stand up to the division bully 49ers. They've got a coach and a QB.
  23. " ... Bills nation cries its lonely eyes for you ... "
  24. So brutal with Steelers and bengals losing. Wed have been a game behind both and totally right in the thick of it for the final WC spot. This is medevil - on the rack hot coals applied to the testes - painful
