  1. Morgan is a good man. I applaud how he's standing up to the gun lobby. Refreshing and much needed in this day and age when so many bury their heads in the sand. His response to the petition was spot on : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2254758/Piers-Morgan-Deport-If-America-wont-change-crazy-gun-laws-I-deport-myself.html Irony is this Brit whose taking all this heat from lunatic fringe gun obsessives Americans, is the one whose offering prescription for saving american lives!
  2. I'll bet its torturous at this point. They should have a rule either 80% vote in a year or X # of years in a row finalist gets you in.
  3. Lance Armstrong plans to make an admission about doping in an interview with Oprah Winfrey scheduled to tape Monday at his home in Austin, Texas, a person with knowledge of the situation said. In the interview, which is scheduled to air Thursday on the Oprah Winfrey Network, the famed cyclist plans to admit to doping throughout his career but probably will not get into great detail about specific cases and events, the person said. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to speak publicly about it. http://www.usatoday....erview/1828311/
  4. But this is not weighted by position value is it? Since QB is without question the most important position, if fitz awful grade factored more you'd see a closer proximity to draft ranking 24th overall. Coaching would aanother important factor in explaining the difference via talent utilization I would think.
  5. +2 more years for having to wait out Rex' contract.
  6. So unless they do something So unless we do some major upgrade @ LB, looks like we'll be in a base 6-1 defense
  7. Right, of the 11 they have/can have contracted, the most expensive Sanchez theyd love to get rid of. Two others Holmes (Lisfranc), Revis (ACL) are big question marks.
  8. Good summary of jets cap situation from NY Post : ESPN reported yesterday the Jets are $19.4 million over the projected 2013 salary cap, the most in the NFL, and the perception of the situation may be scaring GM candidates away....The Jets can easily maneuver their way under the cap by releasing linebacker Bart Scott, linebacker Calvin Pace, tackle Jason Smith and safety Eric Smith next month. That would save them $30.7 million. You can add another $1.5 million if they release quarterback Tim Tebow, as expected. Those moves would put them $12.8 million under the cap. The problem for the Jets is that leaves them with only 10 players who were starters this year under contract — QB Mark Sanchez, C Nick Mangold, T D’Brickashaw Ferguson, WR Santonio Holmes, WR Stephen Hill, NT Sione Po’uha, DE Muhammad Wilkerson, LB David Harris, CB Antonio Cromartie and CB Darrelle Revis. They will probably tender tackle Austin Howard, who is a restricted free agent, to bring the number to 11. http://m.nypost.com/p/sports/jets/jets_cap_number_scares_off_gms_s53xzVOSy7F60IEiLpHQ6O
  9. Toutatis orbit sounds like a fitz pass
  10. To me then the answer is no, no one takes a 1st rounder with such a short time horizon. That's more like a vet with a few years left , but at least you've seen how he performs in the pros and there's no learning curve
  11. Will anyone go near Jones in rd1 with the spine disorder?
  12. Nassib looks as green if not more so than Levi brown coming out. And no way Levi goes top 10. At first I reacted to the marrone hiring thinking he'd grab nassib rd1, but reviewing other situations where college coaches went to pro theres no dominant tendency for them to pursue their college QB(s). I think rational decision making prevails here and we're safe he's not the pick at 8

  14. Well said. He's being penalized for being on a team that losdt 4 bowls when many guys in the HoF never even played in one. Contrary to some misheld views BILLS were not stacked at WR during this time. Lofton was old and didn't stay for the 4 years, Beebe no where near a star. So for all those years reed was really the only major force at WR.
  15. Buddy's out of the picture now. Just a figurehead to help smooth transition process. He's not a decision maker, we saw that in the new HC search, which wouldn't have gone down that way if buddy were in control. Heck gailey might still even be here. For insight into what we might or might not do, better to focus on Brandon and the new hires. Although i don't necessarily see a lot of trading around (because most picks aren't traded), with how aggressive they were lining up a coach and the focus on analytics to spot value, I'd say there's a greater chance this year.
  16. Best argument against him is that I can't come up with any legitimate arguments for him
  17. Do you plan to run a 3-4 or 4-3 as your base defense? “The answer is really yes to both. We’ll be a multiple front, multiple coverage defense. The trademark of our defense is we’re going to be smart, tough and relentless. How we configure it is more player-driven. I’ve always believed that you don’t fit your players to your scheme, but you fit your scheme to your players. What I see here is a group of explosive athletes and playmakers and we’re going to put them in a position to do just that. We’re going to be in the configuration that gives us the best opportunity to win football games.” http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/DC-Mike-Pettine-comments/91e45992-7954-480c-ae74-c799aede9ff8
  18. That name will sell well in the Dog Pound.
  19. I like drafting corners but with other needs not this year. Only way I see them going corner @8 back to back is if pettine has massive influence on draft and brings jets 2-stud DB mentality with him.
  20. Not so sure about that. We got much better play out of LDE this year and it had no effect on record. That kind of gap up from 6 to 10 win playoff team can only come from QB IMO.
  21. Raising stats you don't have simply another evasive maneuver. And you say conclusions can't be drawn without them yet you concluded pass rusher is priority based on a single sack figure. Totally ignoring the far more comprehensive and damning run defense figure. youre done all right.
  22. 31st run defense 10th pass defense
  23. Nothing to do with thread hijack. You don't want to respond because you see the weakness in your argument. Yes there were a few letdowns late in games last year and we all know that. But you're going to let a few plays take precedent over the 300-something times we were run against, showing we were horrifically bad in that central area? And to my earlier point about how your focus is too narrow and you don't see the integral nature of run defense: some of the late game let downs on pass defense were most certainly from fatigue getting run over all game, and secondary personnel having to take on RBs with a full head of steam.
