Actually, no, no he doesn't. New staff has made it clear its not a lock to be Fitz job, that its an open competition with at least TJ. So the premise that a palmer would be brought in to replace Fitz is flawed, since its not currently Fitz position and may never be again, palmer or not.

The problem is you're comparing guys on different teams in different situations. Muxh better would be comparing them when they were on the same team in cincinatti. In 2007 they went 7-9 with palmer. 2008 palmer was IR'd early in the season with an elbow injury, they went 4-1-11 with Fitz. In 2009 when Palmer returned they went 10-6 and made the playoffs. Also note this was a receiver-rich team Not that im chomping at the bit to get palmer here, but let's skip this analysis of Fitz and his stats that are often rolled out. Palmer is the better qb and if he started for us in 2013, although my expectations wouldn't be too high I'd still watch the games. If fitz starts again in my mind at least guarantees another bad season and unwatchable qb play, and for first time ever I wouldn't tune in to bills games.

Seem him a fair amount and Im not a fan. very hit or miss, inconsistent one game to the next. definitely not a top tier TE like Gronk or Graham, but somehow thinks he is; doesnt have that kind of athleticism. Bills fans probably have a much better perception of him than it warranted because our inability to cover TE's has allowed him to have some big games against us

And your "analysis" is flawed further by guys on your list never having graduated to "worth the pick" the level. If all those guys started out with similar stats, and then became big time players, at least youd have a starting point. A DT doesn't prove his worth by having a few more sacks than the next guy. Stats like that that any boob can pull up on ESPN are really of little use to analyze the position. DT is supposed to be the setup guy to occupy a lot of blockers and offense attention, force plays away from the middle, so other guys around them can make plays that show up on common stats. A far better assessment of what Dareus has done would be looking at a service that considers all the factors that go into quality DT play ... I think someone posted one a while ago from an Irish company that showed Fitz was like 35th overall (or something like that). Be interested how Dareus ranked. Without that I used my own 2 eyes, and from seeing a lot of Wilfork in his 1st and 2nd years, and some of Ngata, its obvious he hasnt shown anywhere near their promise. Even most of the Dareus supporters on this board concede he's underperformed.
