  1. More ben Johnson than Carl lewis as far as track stars go
  2. At wide out, yes I think it had something to do with his draft position.
  3. My #1 nominee is Ryan swope. Owns nearly every meaningful receiving record at Texas a&m. Has 4 years college experience and put up big numbers with multiple QBs (not just manziel). Put up blazing time in the 40 at combine. Rated as an excellent blocker in addition to his receiving skills No off field problems Most projections I saw had him in 2nd or 3rd. How he goes in 6th is beyond me. Some combo of WR-rich draft and reverse discrimination my guess. But still come on, 6th round ?
  4. Honestly so many concerts are just so disappointing and forgettable for me , I stopped going years ago. VH has such a great catalogue and Eddie is the greatest guitarist ever IMO, but they just ruin it live with the phoniness and lack of inspiration. They're far from alone.
  5. IMO barkley was clearly the better prospect on the board at the time. I wonder if this was more fallout from the Sanchez experience, hesitating to draft another USC QB
  6. Not sure. Had too much JD in me lol. My only other reference is "Jump" was already released because my friend (a musician) commented the keyboard part was a recording since no one on stage was playing it.
  7. What a perfect venue for a whoopee cushion prankster
  8. 1) les Paul at a small jazz club in Manhattan. Not my style of music but man could that guy coax a range of emotion out of that guitar. Whole place was captivated. 2) rolling stones at Shea stadium. Not my favorite rock band, but they had the whole place rocking for all 90 minutes. Keith Richards owned the stage even more than mick. Very confident band who had control of the audience like puppets on a string. Talk about the "it factor", they had it in spades. 3) van halen at the aud if only for the memory of DLR making a complete ass of himself guzzling water from a JD bottle all night boldly claiming how he wanted to get "f$ed up" tonight. if it were real it was obvious to anyone he would have been in ER getting his stomach pumped by the 2nd song.
  9. Holy guacamole is he fast. Don't need a stopwatch to know he was burning up the track. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0iyAuxcjA8U
  10. Im open minded on EJ given his physical attributes, FSU offense that wasnt the best platform to showcase his talents, and his demeanor. Geno im really glad we avoided. IMO pro game will be too fast for him mentally. The way he handled day 1 disappointment spoke volumes. This guy got caught up in believing his own hype, not a good sign.
  11. We've generally had good success with LBs with unusual names (Bryce Paup, Takeo Spikes). So I'm liking this pick.
  12. thanks, btw I'd be delighted if Kobe proved me wrong !
  13. Well it was 17 years ago. Which relative to today's tech might as well have been the stone age
  14. I'm not questioning perpetrating it. I get that. It's how lacking the authorities seem to be afterwards that I am questioning.
  15. I did? Can you show that to me? Sorry I have no recollection of ever having said or implied that
  16. No I mean besides you. The way it was pulled off. The lack of a suspect.
  17. I wonder if it was some kind of inside job, someone with knowledge of the security measures and how to undermine them. Ex-cop with an agenda to show up police department? Something odd here
  18. Actually I don't have a view on drone regulation yet. Hadn't even thought of potential for civilian use until I read the article. Of course there is some comparison to the gun debate, but that's not the whole story. I only posted it as a discussion piece.
  19. Who %#@$ing did this? With all the surveillance these days, cell phone cameras, security for the event, tips, opportunity, motive etc etc ... You'd think finding the perpetrator(s) would be a lot easier. Right now seems they have nothing. The bombs were placed in pressure cookers and left in black back packs , how can someone get away with that?
  20. Your proposal is status quo/do nothing?
  21. And apparently the story theyve been reporting about a Saudi national held in custody as a suspect is false too. I read the latest account on cnn.com which reports 3 dead and a number of horrible, maiming injuries. I hope for 2 things now: 1) as few deaths and injuries as possible. and 2) who ever was behind this cowardly, disgraceful act is strung up by his balls
  22. Why is citizen drone regulation not a legitimate question? In the face of emerging technology its a question that will increasingly need to be addressed. In the case of drones its not just weapons its also a surveillance/privacy matter.
  23. Its not me, its "them" as in NY post. and I hope they're wrong too
  24. NY post reports 12 dead WWW.nypost.com
