  1. Nah, just sour grapes he couldn't come up with her $2B asking price
  2. Maybe he's looking to help bump up the % of black Google employees. Only 2% of Google employees are black By Associated Press http://nypost.com/20...male-workforce/
  3. SAN JOSE, Calif. — In a groundbreaking disclosure, Google revealed how very white and male its workforce is — just 2 percent of its Googlers are black, 3 percent are Hispanic and 30 percent are women. “Simply put, Google is not where we want to be when it comes to diversity,” Google Inc. senior vice president Laszlo Bock wrote in a blog. http://nypost.com/2014/05/29/googles-diversity-data-reveals-mostly-white-male-workforce/
  4. amazing woman, she even called the sale price!
  5. "It's not usual for veterans to spend offseason practices working off to the side with trainers. It is rare, however, for one team to have eight to 10 starters stuck in the injury ward." http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000353914/article/bills-kiko-alonso-mario-williams-had-hip-surgeries
  6. Incredible how blatant some of these were. Did they really think no one would notice? Why not just call them covers? Songs would have been a hit no matter.
  7. It's the intro and repeated throughout the initial verses. To me the intro in and of itself is key, its what gets your attention, sets the mood, and the song would not be distinctive without it.... overall the familiar segment is the song's theme, and theme is of course critical
  8. To me yes. When I first heard it I thought someone was doing a cover of stairway!
  9. It’s not always so easy to prove musical plagiarism. And now that same song, “Stairway to Heaven” is at the center of another battle over ownership. The estate of guitarist Randy California claims that Led Zeppelin took a key section of their hit from his rock instrumental “Taurus,” featured on a 1968 album by the rock band Spirit. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/05/25/did-led-zeppelin-steal-stairway-to-heaven.html Spirit and Stairway To Heaven:
  10. Not sure who wrote it and doesn't sound like his voice, but overall it's a pretty good piece. Motivation - Tony Mandarich:
  11. Guns were the weapon in nearly 68% of murders in America. Knives little more than 13%. Which one to regulate? hmmmmm .... http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0004888.html
  12. And if Mariah Carey bought Jets would make one heck of a rivalry
  13. "I felt like I had a pretty good idea we'd take a quarterback," Brady recently told The MMQB.com's Peter King. "Coach (Bill) Belichick doesn't care who the quarterback is here. He's always going to play the guy who he thinks gives him the best chance to win." At 36, Brady's starting role is rooted in security, but he makes a fair point about Belichick's history of unemotional decision-making at the quarterback position. This is the same coach who traded away Drew Bledsoe to the Buffalo Bills and -- during a topsy-turvy stint in Cleveland -- blindsided the city by releasing local hero Bernie Kosar in favor of Vinny Testaverde. "There's no entitlement in the NFL," Brady said. "I don't expect to be given anything. I just hope I'm the one most entitled to play that position for a long time here." http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000353295/article/tom-brady-i-had-a-pretty-good-idea-wed-take-a-qb
  14. Everest is a lucky guy!
  15. Dumb and paranoid but with easy access to guns ... utterly disturbing
  16. Could be I just don't know. But ultimately intent shouldnt be dererministic; people stop doing things all the time due to unintended consequences. btw I was at that game in 92'. Demonstration was small, maybe around half a dozen outside main entrance. But I agree it's time stamped as having gone on a for a while. IMO Senators may have done Snyder a favor ... he can change name to Washington Indians (or something) and cite growing political pressure along with right thing to do. Before if he's giving in to a handful of demonstrators and letter writers, makes him look weak.
  17. Dallas is so mediocre and so boring, and in sick of all the faux drama around their games. Why did we have to see them against eagles as last game last season? To see the great kyle orten? Even if cowboys lucked out and won they were going no where in playoffs. I really wanted to see an up comer like cardinals for that game, but no league stuffs another cowboy game down our throat. And NFL.com has way too much cowboy coverage. Is tony romo this or that? Who cares. Boring. Its all jones handiwork in the background too working the NFL top brass and media sponsors. How much is that costing the league because more deserving teams of interest aren't getting their due? He's a cancer, really is.
  18. @41 Miss Viagra is about 20 years too old for Derek jeter
  19. A. Really? Names of other teams when redskins were formed: Bears Packers Spartans Giants Dodgers Cardinals Stapletons Other than local identifiers seems like lofty names to me B) I know that, but why identify with the under privileged? Its self evident discrimination was more pervasive which would seem even greater incentive not to be identified with that class.
  20. Not so sure about that. The incentives then for owning and naming a team are the same as now: power, success, local identity, monetizable. Why knowingly use a name that conveys oppression, defeat, annihilation, segregation? If the era can explain the illogic why not a lot more examples?
  21. Why would anyone knowingly use an offensive racial slur for their team's name?
  22. I wasn't expecting the universe but I was surprised at just how meager list was. I had heard of a total 4 groups, and 4 individuals. I think there's a lot of resume padding for guys giving lessons out of their mom's basement: Let "Buffalo Music Hall of Fame" legend Jim Smith teach you guitar!
