  1. Mario is outstanding. Some fans here will never see or say anything good about him due to his contract, but for those paying attention the guy is a one-man zone defense for his side of the line.
  2. But don't forget wolfowitz said Iraq oil revenues would make it a freebie for US .... he was only off by at least $2 trillion. NEW YORK (Reuters) - The U.S. war in Iraq has cost $1.7 trillion with an additional $490 billion in benefits owed to war veterans, expenses that could grow to more than $6 trillion over the next four decades counting interest, a study released on Thursday said. http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSBRE92D0PG20130314?irpc=932
  3. You bring up a good question on long term implications of our foreign policy. The pivot toward Asia coupled with the misadventure in Ukraine, will bring Russia and China closer together in alliance against us, that's pretty much a given and historically these 3 nations have been shifting alliances amongst themselves. The more problematic thing to take note of is how the other super power (at least super populace) country in the region india aligns itself. It seems like they may join the russo-chinese alliance to form one super-asia pact. In that case US gets even closer to Pakistan, another sunni country with a strong radicap element. Which of course feeds right back into our convoluted Mideast policy. And given Pakistan and Iran don't like each other, probably drives Iran deeper into the super-asia pact, all 4 of which share a common problem with sunni separatists .... So then you'd have a super alliance stretching from the south china sea all the way to Persian gulf. At odds with US and its odd alliane of sunni countries and Israel. I don't know what will happen of course, lot of conjecture, but what is clear is that underlying forces are unsettling .... Right now I give Russia the highest score for effective manoeuvering
  4. I like the film on Brown quite a bit. Cautiously optimistic he's the back with power (Fred), speed (spiller), and durability (really neither Fred or cj), we've been lacking. Won't be surprised if he ends up with most carries this season.
  5. Here's what it looks like .... "Iraq receives Russian fighter jets to fight rebels" http://m.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-28077273 Russia is supporting the Shiite govts directly in Syria, partially in Iran, and now directly in Iraq too. Contrast that with US supporting anti-govt Sunni's in Syria while simultaneously supporting shiite govt in Iraq against those benefitting from our support in syria. As Russia solidifies its role within Shiite community look for them to soften their support for Iran nuclear sanctions too. This puts US in the unenviable box of either a) moving closer to Iran for continued convoluted strategy or b) moving further from Iraq and more exclusively aligning with sunni's, wherein the most fanatical Islamist elements lie. Russia is winning this game against a stronger opponent the US.
  6. I kinda think CJ. National media is always yapping how we need to get him "20+ touches per game" kind of thing, because "when healthy" his YPC is "X". Problem is he's simply not healthy enough to be counted on. Unfortunately the concerns about being undersized have been more or less validated to this point in his career. Of course I hope the trend reverses and he stays healthy all year, because in this offense his production will be unlimited.
  7. "Rocky Mountain Way" and "Peace of Mind" couple others I heard today that I could have done without ...
  8. My first memory was his first game as a rookie he picked off a Brady pass that would have sealed a victory for us. But of course it was called back on a highly questionable call, and pats ended up winning. Post-game interview he pretty much called it out as a bogus, pats-friendly call. I give him credit for not backing down
  9. If I liked it then by definition I thought it was good. But one that got destroyed by critics that I liked was "The Brown Bunny"
  10. that's just not good. I think some songs hit the sweet spot in stations minds of being a) familiar and b) neutral so they won't at least turn listeners off. Little do they know! An example I heard last week was Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up. I'm like, didn't they realize this has become an internet joke with the "Rick Rolled" thing? ABC News Rick Rolls 4 Million Americans:
  11. sadly many of them didn't realize our government and media would be capable spilling such a line of BS.
  12. Good video, as I said earlier the system of checks and balances broke down, still exists today, and extends right thru to the corporate ass kissy media. The only way to prevent it from happening again is calling them all out and making them pay at the ballots. Here's another good video, its directed at Bush, but really applies to all of the lackies in media and government Dying Iraq War Veteran Tomas Young Reacts to Geor…:
  13. So you're the @*ing guy keeps requesting it!
  14. I don't know why stations keep playing this, I don't know anyone who likes it, can't imagine anyone requesting it, and it sucks ... yet seems like not a week goes by without the rock station playing .... http://youtu.be/Hn-enjcgV1o
  15. A "10" on the peter meter circle jerk .... sending half billion in weapons to Syrian "rebels" (high risk of course they end up in isis's hands), to fight against Assad, who's dropping bombs on isis in Iraq, mimicking what we're preparing to do .... Obama asks Congress to send weapons to Syrian reb…:
  16. Hillary is whatever's most convenient at the time for her political career.
  17. Smoking gun? NO WMDs? NO Saddam working with Al Qaeda? HARDLY, AL QAEDA HATED SADDAM 1,000's of Americans died in vain on false pretense? SADLY, YES
  18. neocons = new conservatives = their roots are in the democratic party Joe Lieberman (Democrat at the time) sponsored the Bill authorizing war. Judy "smoking gun" Miller, at the time writer for the liberal NY Times. etc etc etc The neocon pervasiveness in government and the media is what made them so insidious and effective
  19. who said Neocons were unique to either party? Geesh, what a moron
  20. it's sad that we had to lose so many more Americans over neocon lies. They took advantage of Americans' trust and good nature
  21. I didn't say you I'm speaking more generally, some things in the media and some of the more aggressive posters here (one of whom admitted he works for Erie county). Im not going to debate the NF vs Buffalo site, that's been done before, and its nothing like the black and white argument you make it. Buffalo at only a quarter million people is only the 73rd largest city in the US....not a chance in heck a team gets awarded there if the league started tomorrow. A viable strategy to keep the team in WNY is to regionalize it .... This is nothing new. And NF,NY is a credible alternative and perhaps only one to keep it here and on our side of the border. But again to the Erie country crowd that might as well be LA
  22. I think some of the nonsense is being floated by the Erie county crowd. If people realized the home town discount can't be the case, there'd more emphasis on finding a Niagara falls site as a way to tap into a higher expected revenue stream to support a more competitive bid. The erie county crowd see niagara Falls same as move totally out of the area (like LA or Toronto move), and they're trying to equally undermine it.
  23. Seriously? I'm speaking from a position of logic, precedent, and knowledge for how a trust works. There's absolutely no basis to think there's "home" discount built in. Honestly its just silly.
  24. Pipe dream. Almost no chance of this. Trust is obligated to act in best interests of beneficiaries, not buffalo. If it leaves any money on the table the administrator will be exposed to serious liability for breach of fiduciary duty. In reality any sale that didn't meet the best interests of beneficiaries standard would be blocked from even happening.
  25. Actor: Brando for sure Actress: this a tough one. Technically I guess Streep, but its not like I see a movie just because she's in it. But I will say an under rated one is Cher.
