Except that Israel clearly instigated the latest conflict
-
Simple. Israelis had the chance to negotiate a just settlement in the west bank with the pacifist Abbas who made acceptance of Israel part of his platform. Instead the Israelis continued the settlement expansion and made a mockery of US lead peace efforts, wasting more of YOUR tax dollars. Had they demonstrated that peace works Hamas would have lost support in Gaza. Hamas exists because Israelis have communicated to the region they only respond to power. Just what the IDF general son's said "if Israel wants to stop the rockets, end the occupation" Yes gaza is worse, it's blockaded. Stop your redundant propagandist bullsh#t

Ted Washington NEEDS to be in the HOF
truth on hold replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If I could pick one player on defense for the super bowl teams that wasn't a bill during that time, big ted is probably it. Jeff wright wasn't bad but he just wasnt force we needed in the middle of a 3-4 defense. Ted, Chris Jenkins and Vince wilfork are the 3 best NTs I've seen -
See, this is the kind of objective , sober analysis we need to understand the situation, and it comes from an Israeli source. "It should be noted that Hamas really is interested in a ceasefire. This is not a cautious assessment, or an Israeli misjudgment. Hamas itself is making this clear at every opportunity. Its representatives had even agreed that Israeli forces would remain inside Gaza during the 72-hour truce — something it had firmly opposed just a few days earlier. The situation in Gaza is getting worse by the day, and with it the pressure on Hamas to stop fighting. As for Secretary of State John Kerry’s ceasefire work: One can only praise the effort he is making, but the 72-hour truce agreement, as published, did not specifically deal with IDF activities to find and demolish the Hamas tunnels. It did allow for Israel to leave the IDF in place in Gaza for the 72 hours, but did not talk of tunnel demolition. Thus, while Israel insisted that the IDF’s work on destroying the tunnels would continue during the truce, Hamas has stressed repeatedly that it did not agree to this. The lack of clarity in the ceasefire agreement on this issue may have been a factor in everything that played out subsequently." http://www.timesofisrael.com/why-for-the-first-time-ever-is-hamas-claiming-not-to-have-seized-a-soldier/

So by excluding others on the list, you acknowledge their statements and actions are legitimate. Good, that's a start

Its the tactic of the pro-israel crowd since they have no actual defense, with all roads leading to calling someone "anti-semite". Well in that case the following are anti-semites: - IDF generals son who said if Israel wants to stop the rockets then stop the occupation - head of UN human Rights commission who said theres growing evidence israel is committing war crimes - presbyterian and Lutheran churches who voted to divest church assets from Israel - several south american countries like Brazil and Chile who withdraw their ambassadors to Israel - the Jewish organization j-street - younger Americans who say Israelis are more responsible than palis for the conflict - American Studies professors who voted to boycott Israeli universities - EU who banned importation of Israeli products from west bank - physicist Stephen Hawkings who refused to attend conferences in Israel - Dutch pension fund PGGM who withdrew tens of millions of euros from Israeli banks - archbishop Desmond tutu who just announced: "The crisis we are witnessing in Gaza today is not a Jewish or a Muslim crisis. It is a human crisis. "Those who continue to do business with Israel fund the perpetuation of a profoundly unjust status quo. "Those who withdraw their business are saying Israelis and Palestinians are equally entitled to dignity and peace. Gaza is going to test who believes in the worth of human beings." https://uk.news.yahoo.com/tutu-backs-israeli-settlement-funding-boycott-014219647.html

Amnesty International: U.S. Should Stop Arming Israel Amid "Growing Evidence of War Crimes in Gaza" On Thursday, Amnesty International said the U.S. government must immediately end its ongoing deliveries of large quantities of arms to Israel, which are providing the tools to commit further serious violations of international law in Gaza. Amnesty’s call comes as the United Nations’ top human rights official has also criticized the United States. "They have not only provided the heavy weaponry which is now being used by Israel in Gaza, but they’ve also provided almost $1 billion in providing the Iron Domes to protect Israelis from the rockets attacks, but no such protection has been provided to Gazans against the shelling," said Navi Pillay, U.N. human rights high commissioner. "So I am reminding United States that it’s a party to international humanitarian law and human rights law." http://m.democracynow.org/stories/14545

That's when Mr "objective philosopher" lost all credibility and I really stopped paying attention to him. When I gave him the hypothetical of pals seizing Israels nukes, and said according to his view they should use them on tel Aviv. Then he went back into "well total annilation of enemy only works for the non-aggressor" There's no freaking way an occupying power that keeps expanding settlements doesn't share responsibility as an aggressor. No freaking way. So he's a biased jerk, jerk was a given all along its the bias which made him not worth my attention.

2 realities here: 1. No one on this board really knows who or what is to blame for the renewed violence ... one, the other, both, miscommunication, etc... 2. Its a tragically sad situation
-
What a shame cease fire falling apart. 40 more civilians, 2 IDF .... both sides blaming each other. Don't know anyone who could feel good about this.

I'd been trying to come up a strategic rationale for our support for Israel, thank you senator Graham for enlightenting us. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC): America's alliance…: http://youtu.be/UbsVQiY0Qkw Oh brother with kooks like this in the senate, what chance do we have?

Understandable, because sadly with so many maasacres at shelters, schools, beaches, playgrounds, markets ... its hard to keep track of them all.

Interesting from your first link .. Henry Kissinger: ‘No Israel in 10 years’ On September 17, 2012, Cindy Adams in her column at the New York Post, quoted Henry Kissinger predicting that if the current isolation of the Zionist entity continues – the Zionist entity will be gone within next 10 years. “Reported to me, Henry Kissinger has stated – and I quote the statement word for word: “In 10 years, there will be no more Israel”. I repeat: “In 10 years, there will be no more Israel”, wrote Cindy Adams. http://rehmat1.com/2012/09/26/henry-kissinger-no-israel-in-10-years/ Love or hate good old Henry, he's probably the most brilliant forecaster of the fate of nations out there.

It was the Israeli cheerleaders in here claiming they were morally superior to palis because they were "self reflective". So let's see some self reflection on netanyahus rationale for getting 56 young Jewish soldiers killed. Show us proof hamas kidnapped the 3 teens!
-
That hamas kidnapped the teens? Yeah where is it. Because right now 56 nice Jewish boys are dead over it. If that were an American president getting young Americans killed you better believe there'd be intense scrutiny. How about those "self reflective" Israelis?
-
Seriously how about this rabbi for you? RABBI HENRY SIEGMAN: My response is that they wouldn’t be firing those rockets if you weren’t out—if you didn’t have an occupation in place. And one of the reasons you say you do not have an occupation in place is because you really don’t have a united partner, Palestinian partner, to make peace with, and when Palestinians seek to establish that kind of a government, which they just recently did, bringing Hamas into the governmental structure, Palestinian governmental structure, that is headed by Abbas, you seek to destroy that. You won’t recognize it. And this is why I say there are several reasons for the Israeli action. A primary one is to prevent this new government from actually succeeding. It’s an attempt to break up the new unity government set up by the Palestinians. http://m.democracynow.org/stories/14542

Ywah well lying that hamas was responsible for kidnappings has 56 IDF dead

Oh geez, the human shield thing. Funny I never images of a guy in a ski mask running around holding a kid in one hand and rocket launcher in the other. But I do see kids getting slaughtered on beaches playing soccer, on swings in parks, sleeping in UN schools, in the market with their mother, etc etc.

Don't know about anonymous Spanish journalist, and have to wonder why none of the major networks have claimed the same, but I do know what a confirmed Spanish hottie thinks: Gaza Crisis: Actress Penelope Cruz condemns 'physical, moral, psychological horror' of Israel's attacks on Palestine http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/gaza-crisis-actress-penelope-cruz-3936184
