  1. Lol does this ever end? Trying to install it on government property as a "historical document". A "historical document" that alleges to be "god's laws" and which has never even been found. BLOOMFIELD, N.M. (AP) — A federal judge on Thursday ruled that a New Mexico city must remove a monument inscribed with the Ten Commandments from the lawn in front of Bloomfield City Hall. Bloomfield Mayor Scott Eckstein said he was surprised the judge would rule against "a historical document." "The intent from the beginning was that the lawn was going to be used for historical purposes, and that's what the council voted on," Eckstein told the Daily Times https://sg.yahoo.com/news/judge-rules-ten-commandments-monument-must-141940443.html
  2. NJ's question is not exclusive to Israel's relationship with Hamas. Abbas' Fatah controlled west bank went out of their way to stress acceptance of Israel. And yet netanyahu and the radical right undermined US peace efforts and continued settlements.
  3. Depends which Israelis: For netanyahu's radical right, no because either a one or two-state means an end to their goal of a Jewish state on all the land. From their perspective they might as well take their chances on status quo with settlement expansion
  4. Great, so now we're officially on board bombing the "IS" group we helped create in syria, providing air cover for the Iranian ground forces (whom we've boycotted for alledged WMD program) and Hezbollah militia (whom we list as a terrorist organization )
  5. He's "America's Drunken Old Pervert"
  6. Netanyahu asks US to help Israel avoid war crime charges Palestinian leaders are getting ready to join the ICC, and met with officials in The Hague recently to discuss the implications of joining. “The prime minister asked us to work together to ensure that this strategy of going to the ICC does not succeed,” Rep. Steve Israel told The Post by phone from Tel Aviv. Netanyahu “wants the US to use all the tools that we have at our disposal to, number one, make sure the world knows that war crimes were not committed by Israel, they were committed by Hamas. And that Israel should not be held to a double standard,” the congressman said. http://nypost.com/2014/08/06/netanyahu-asks-us-to-help-israel-avoid-war-crime-charges/ ........... Lol @ congressman "Israel". How does he know there were no war crimes committed by Israel? Was he there? Nope, no bias here. Imagine the hooting and hollering here if Congressman "Keith Palestine" was working with Abbas to garner US support for the war crimes measure?
  7. Not sure if this is directed at me, but to set the record straight: A. Not liberal B. Supported afghan incursion C. Don't think we should help overthrow democratically elected leaders on Russia's border. Imagine if they did the same in Canada or mexico? Putins actions are simply to be expected. And if there's anything ironic here its the right wing kookballs supporting Obama's foreign policy
  8. The one that violently ousts democratically elected leaders and just lost crimea
  9. And abandon ethnically Russians on his border? Who've made it clear they don't want to be part of the new Ukraine? Probably couldnt stop supporting them even if he wanted to given all the cross border connections. Agaim sh#tty diplomacy thinking Putin had any real choice here.
  10. It will help the domestic producers, and they can increase imports from non-EU countries, with whom they share many borders. But yes ultimately there will be a cost to Russia, the EU, and the US. But politically its a move putin has to make. So both sides are locked in a costly tit for tat that neither side wants. In a word its "sh#tty" diplomacy.
  11. So now Russia does the expected thing and bans food imports from countries sanctioning it. This will cost an already shaky EU billions of its most important export. All of this anti-free trade tick for tack will hurt the entire world economy. This in addition to triggering an ongoing civil war. And this economic cost and bloodshed was worth it to over throw a democratically elected leader? http://edition.cnn.com/2014/08/06/world/europe/russia-ukraine-crisis/index.html?c=intl-homepage-t
  12. The only alternative IMO was to take manziel in rd1 and the best WR or TE in rd2. Although I would have been OK with this, the problem is that neither manziel or EJ may ever develop since theres no clear #1 and the rd2 WR is a much riskier bet than Watkins to work out. Point is that there's potential downside to every scenario
  13. In the last draft, who available would you have taken, and which other player/position would we have foregone as a result?
  14. They have tuel as their developmental guy. To your point, I started a thread this summer on drafting a qb again, but on draft day versus our other needs it would have been hard to justify qb in any round.
  15. No, in the same way I wouldn't want Trent or JP back. Along with Fitz they all proven non-starters. With Fitz it's like trying to prop up a pitcher with a 78mph fastball. No amount of mechanics work or baseball IQ will change that. Unfortunately in football theres no such simple test as the 90mph fastball threshold. But to the trained eye it's clear as day Fitz does not have an nfl-caliber arm. Fitz natural role in football is QB-coach, along the lines of "those that can.... do, those that are pretty smart but can't .... teach"
  16. Agreed but how can we go back in time and correct the prior regimes suicidal commitment to Fitz? I'm uncomfortable with Manuel too but what's done is done. And they did try for a veteran with kolb but he got KO'd and this time stayed down for the count. So what option do you recommend right now that we can do?
  17. Would like to see them live. The costumes would be a nice break from the usual black T-shirt, jeans, wallet with chain, construction boots uniform of most metal bands. CC did a nice groovy cover of Sabbath's "zero the hero"
  18. Ghost BC did a haunting and infectious metal cover of ABBA's "Marionette".
  19. And the hits just keep coming .... Israel Flagged as Top Spy Threat to U.S. in New Snowden/NSA Document By Jeff Stein Filed: 8/4/14 In this new document, Israel was identified by the NSA as a security threat in several areas, including “the threat of development of weapons of mass destruction” and “delivery methods (particularly ballistic and nuclear-capable cruise missiles).” The NSA also flagged Israel’s “WMD and missile proliferation activities” and “cruise missiles” as threats. In a section of the document headed “Foreign Intelligence, Counterintelligence; Denial & Deception Activities: Countering Foreign Intelligence Threats,” Israel was listed as a leading perpetrator of "espionage/intelligence collection operations and manipulation/influence operations…against U.S. government, military, science & technology and Intelligence Community” organs. The term “manipulation/influence operations” refers to covert attempts by Israel to sway U.S. public opinion in its favor. In this, Israel has dubious company, according to the NSA: Other leading threats were listed as China, Russia, Cuba, Iran, Pakistan, North Korea, France, Venezuela and South Korea." http://www.newsweek.com/israel-flagged-top-spy-threat-us-new-snowdennsa-document-262991?utm_content=buffera2144&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
  20. Minimize it? No I love it. The long standing philosophy of "high motor choir boys" drove me crazy. Off field issues have a chance of being straightened out, lack of talent doesn't.
  21. Lol @ the clown who sees antisemitism in movements to end Israeli occupation yet mocks others "conspiracy" theories, even when they haven't presented any! By your logic movements to end south African apartheid were racist towards whites in south Africa because they didn't also target Israel. How about trying to defend Israel in isolation versus objective legal and moral standards, rather than dilute and distract by involving comparison to others? Oh yeah, you can't, that's why.
  22. Not every central government is in the throes of AIPAC Spain freezes arms exports to Israel over Gaza http://www.haaretz.com/mobile/.premium-1.608900 Britain says reviewing arms exports to Israel over Gaza conflict http://news.yahoo.com/britain-says-reviewing-arms-exports-israel-over-gaza-113559410--business.html
  23. Lets not forget talent was not the reason Henderson went in the 7th ... purely off field stuff. If he was squeaky clean then he's a solid 2nd round pick. And if not for missing so many games maybe even 1st round. So talentwise he is performing as expected.
  24. The part about them being politically isolated is correct, the part of them launching a "suicide mission" is demonstrably false. The well known chronology reads: - US brokered peace talks fall apart because Israel would not stop building settlements and did not release prisoners as part of the agreement. - hamas reconcilew with Abbas Fatah because, as you say, they are politically isolated. This is a great opportunity for hamas militant angle to be diluted in the larger and pacifist Fatah party - US and Europe recognize Abbas new government. Netanyahu is now the one politically isolated - when the 3 Israeli settlers are kidnapped he sees this an opportunity to scapegoat Hamas and derail the peace train. Even though hamas claims no responsibilty he arrests hundreds in the west bank, kills some in gaza with missile strikes, and cuts off salaries to thousands of palistinian workers. Squeezed this badly they do what he wanted all along' fire rockets (mostly harmless) giving him the excuse to invade Gaza and retake the agenda. So this homicidal maniac's political agenda, armed and supported by the US taxpayer, has resulted in deaths of nearly 2,000 palis (mostly women and children) and 64 IDF soldiers (mostly around 20 in age) Peace process is dead and netanyahu gets to stall another few years and build more west bank settlements.
