  2. Why Obama’s ISIS Strategy is Incoherent by Robert Freeman If there is a single word to describe Obama’s campaign against ISIS, it is “incoherent.” It doesn’t hold together even on its own terms. And in the context of a larger strategy for the Middle East it is delusional, even destructive of U.S. interests. The reason is that the U.S. doesn’t control the strategy. Until it does, it will only meet continued confusion, mis-direction, and defeat. The most important thing to understand about ISIS is that it is a U.S. creation. The first step in its creation was the U.S. destroying the corrupt but stabilizing regime of Saddam Hussein in Iraq. The second step in ISIS’s creation was the U.S. campaign to overthrow Bashar al-Assad in Syria. The third step in ISIS’s creation came when the U.S. organized Saudi Arabia and Turkey to fund and support the proto-ISIS rebels in Syria. The forces most able to defeat ISIS are those of Iran, Syria, and Russia which have the strategic position, manpower, and organization to dispatch ISIS in short order. But Obama cannot ask for their help because the U.S. is engaged in hostilities against all three. The ISIS imbroglio lays bare the embarrassing truth of U.S. policy in the Middle East: that it is controlled by Saudi Arabia and Israel, for their own benefits, and not for that of the U.S. http://www.commondre...tegy-incoherent
  3. Can we dock him pro-rated salary for that play?
  4. Its an interesting take on things. Impossible yo really know as an outsider. But as someone who thinks aerobics is bunk, its worth consideration.
  5. the fans (and perhaps the team) are getting too high after a win, and too devastated after a loss. They need to learn to get the last game out of their system within a day.
  6. no doubt cant just bludgeon them with bradham but oth good teams find a way to win in spite of injuries overall bills have been pretty healthy
  7. whats missing in the Gilmore-bashing from "just draft fat guys" crowd, is that we could have had the best DB in the business the year before in Patrick Peterson but took Dareus instead. Had we taken Peterson when we should have, we could have taken Poe the next year for DT. Peteron + Poe blows the doors off Gilmore + Dareus. Classic case of how not taking BPA costs a team dearly
  8. We need better guards. An online can't really be clicking without guards that can get push and pull
  9. Overall its not as bleak as people think. Chargers probably best team in AFC, and bills with a better effort could have beaten them
  10. Its unfair to pin this all on Gilmore. Mckelvin and robey didnt have great outings either. Defense plan was to stop gates, which they did. But that left a lot of man on their 3 quality wideouts. And with an experienced QB with time to throw, most secondaries will be vulnerable. And ditto on Mario's run defense ... that guy covers a lot of space with that wingspan and his ability to stay on his feet.
  11. We have no idea in his case, but I'd add texting to your list. Its frightening the number of people I see doing that on the road
  12. I don't buy into this at all. They, like us, will take it one game at a time. Theyre not coming here saying gee we can afford to give this one away ... its 1 of only 16 reg season games, and its a conference game.
  13. Chartered can be worse in terms of service than normal.commercial airlines. But my point relates to coach seat size.
  14. One thing I wonder about for a trip of that length in any direction is the coach seat. I'm nearly 6' and 170lbs+, and normal coach feels very restrictive to me. Most guys in the NFL are bigger with some nearly 2x as heavy. How do they fit in such cramped spaces and how does that effect them being for 5 hours or so?
  15. Also have to separate normal away disadvantage, rule thumb being that it costs 3 points
  16. "Only the San Diego Chargers, who visit Buffalo this weekend, have a respectable record at 17-18."
  17. his WR collection is weak - he consistently makes Woodheads and Adelman's of the world look like pro-bowlers, Gronk is lumbering around like Frankenstein, their running game scares no one, and he lost his best guard in the preseason. Last year without Gronk he lead his team to the AFC championship game. Don't you think it's a little premature to say EJ > Brady? I can only imagine what he'd be doing right now w/ Bills WRs and the protection EJ's been getting.
  18. I noticed him slipping a bit last season Missing a few passes that he'd always nail before. Still think he's the best in the business, and no way do he and bellichik get buried in the super bowl like manning and broncos
  19. well i think he really needs to start showing it. Strahan is in HoF. If you take out season Mario only played 5 games, he's averaging more sacks per year. And hes much better against the run. Sacks are the flashy number, but run defense should also be factored in. Mario is a very complete player. he covers a lot of area on the WS
  20. Mario has a much better chance. 2 years younger if he can stay healthy and play into mid-30's his numbers will be legit. Also being a much higher profile player coming out of college he doesn't have to try to get noticed. A ring on either of their fingers will of course go a long way towards getting into HoF
  21. Fuller deserved it. 2 picks on the road, both exceptional plays, directly tied to close win ... IMO trumps a WR with 100 yards and a TD
  22. 1. No Injuries 2. EJ Time to Throw 3. Defense Stops the Run (I chose this over rush the passer, because if we stop he run, we should be able to get to the QB)
