  1. That money goes pretty quickly. Agent gets a huge cut, taxes, after that probably end up with about half of the amount . out of league in a couple with no pension and no other skills it's not easy on these guys.
  2. IMO odds are Sammy goes #1. If they pass on clowney because of his rocky start, I can't possibly see using #1 overall on mack. He's solid but sure as heck not dominant like a Ray Lewis or an LT. Would you use #1 overall at that position on anything less than HoF potential? Taking Sammy works for them because then they can cut ties with the unhappy Andre Johnson, maybe trade for a draff pick, save cap space, and position to get their QB next year. OR if hindsight were really 20-20, take carr with 33rd overall in round 2. Sammy and Carr would have been an amazing draft for them, and huge uprgade of the offense.
  3. Maybe the theif is actually a man of ethics, and wants to set the record straight by engraving an "*" and then returning them
  4. Houston Texans linebacker coach Mike Vrabel tweeted on Saturday that the three Super Bowl rings he’d won in his playing days with the New England Patriots had been stolen. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2014/11/mike-vrabel-tweets-that-his-super-bowl-rings-were-stolen
  5. oh please, anyone can play that game in hindsight. how about torell troupe 1 spot ahead of Gronk?
  6. I could be wrong but wasnt the story something like shanahan was 3rd or 4th choice and the other guys turned them down? Much like how pettine became HC. Shanahan was out od the streets alone without daddy's shield and coming off a miserable season in Washington. Its not like he was a hot commodity
  7. Well that's unfortuante. I actually thought he had potential. People poke fun at these draft busts but it must be a hard life after the NFL, thinking they were going to be a pro athlete all their life and then its all over in a couple years.
  8. Really not nearly as much as one might think for a future HOFer who's playing at a high level. At his age clock is ticking fast and and by time he got acclimated to a new system there'd be 1, 2 years tops left for Hus services. Add to that he'll certainly do the "retire as a pat" no matter where he last played and there's not much. I'm sure some kind of package can be worked out at a position we have depth and some late round picks, but as I said that's well below what some might expext. Now Brady from 14 years ago is a different story.
  9. But with our oline, KC's pass rush, and an immobile QB, will there be enough time for goodwin to get deep?
  10. Adjusted for 9 vs 8 games, per game Bills are: #1 in sacks, tied for #1 in INTs, top 10 in fumbles recovered, 4th in yards per play, tied for 6th in 3rd down % (way ahead of Miami @ 15th). Dont these count for something? Also Miami offense is ranked 11 spots higher than ours, meaning our defense is getting less support.
  11. Media really loves that Miami team for some reason. Yes it was an impressive win last week, but maybe it says more about chargers rapid fall? I really like our defense more than theirs
  12. My groin is starting to hurt just thinking about the implications of this . If he's not ready to go our defense had better step up big and win a 10-7 kind of game. Because our offense will be impotent (another groin reference) without him.
  13. They almost always seem to beat us and I'm sick of playing them every year.
  14. Just as your post cites the contribution of an assistsnt coach here, lets not forget the job the OC shahanan is doing there.
  15. The guy played his last year at SC while injured. You think that might have something to do with it? By your measure hes a hero
  16. Ive always had mixed feelings on the guy. I think he has good leadership skills, he's tough and displays confidence, he can throw some perfect passes all over the field (aka Brady, Brees, etc), but OTOH then some clunkers in bunches and look confuses, while you never see the elite guys throw that many bad ones in bunches. Also seems to come up flat in post-season. Id rank him pretty much spot on in the middle -- between 16 and 17 -- as a starter. But last night I think his WRs share a decent amount of the blame too
  17. dont think it was all on him though, his WRs and TE let him down. First pick was TE's fault, Green was not himself either and dropped balls he normally catches
  18. so much wildcard competition, this could suck. first year in a long time we could end up with a winning record. But still miss playoffs
  19. Every team in that division has a winning record, this deep in the season thats crazy. Makes for a lot of competition for wildcard
  20. after tonight bengals will be 2-3-1 starting with the whupping by pats, after a 3-0 start
  21. browns down 20 with 4:50 left to play. JFF comes in and leads a stunning turnaround, capped off by an electrifying 40 yard QB run with no time left on the clock to secure a one-point victory
  22. And then we're stuck paying him earl Thomas money for another year, when there's no way he's as good, and he has an injury history
  23. Harbaugh would be a good fit in atl and working with Ryan, but I still wont believe hatbaugh is out in SF unless it actually happens
  24. clearly byrd is #1 FA bust, but they really got on Aints by putting Bailey @ #4 for eating $500K on him. Bills have eaten more than 10x that on Williams and hes not even on the list
  25. Don't some of the big names buy injury insurance? I think mcgahee did. At least the schools could set up group insurance plans and pay for it
