  1. silly comment if the discussion is should we have taken A instead of B, when we don't know what contribution A would have made. How do you know we wouldnt have won more games with Beckham, for example? It's also not an apples to apples comparison because the Bills have a much better defense than Giants, and have been in a lot more close games
  2. that doesnt exactly bolster confidence in our ability to assess WR/TE talent in that draft
  3. Id rather have the guy who's better + a pick in the most valuable round next year
  4. The problem with that kind of thinking is where does it end? If you want to say some entire drafts by Bills have been poor, should we trade our entire draft for one WR? It's also not true our firsts never work out --- Dareus is the best DT in the NFL this year, for example. Fact is 1st round picks have a lot of value, it's established within the NFL by how much you can get for trading them.
  5. other athletes chyme in on twitter, including Andre Reed http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000433435/article/giants-odell-beckham-makes-catch-of-the-year
  6. wont this freaking guy just go away? Im sick of seeing him because it reminds me of how he doesn't belong and how we wasted years committing to him, something we're still paying for in more ways than one
  7. on what are you basing your opinion that Sammy is a "true number 1 receiver, don't know if same can be said for Beckham"?
  8. you dont try to end a guy's career because you're pissed at the their coach
  9. thats the simple equation most are missing a) if you think Beckham > Sammy (as I do), then clearly Beckham + 2015 1st and 4th is better b) if you think theyre comparable and the difference is splitting hairs, it's the same conclusion c) if you think sammy > Beckham, it had better be a lot better to make up for a 1st and 4th .... I just dont see how anyone could conclude this now
  10. yeap, Sammy was getting space before but now that defenses have film on him he's not getting that much room. Thats always the way it is in the NFL. After theyve made adjustments and coverage is tight is when you really find out how good you are. And Beckham has the leaping ability to win those tight matchups
  11. Not surprised the guy with his nuts on the line if it doesn't work out says he'd still do the trade.... be shocked if he said otherwise. Heck colts are still saying they trade their first for Trent richardson ... lol. And his standard that sammy won 3 games for them as a test is silly. Most bills wins were close games so a play or two from a lot of different players can be said to be the difference. How about dareus and his sacks instead ? Also he has no idea how wed have done with Beckham instead.
  12. No, my point is that he was taken as the best NFL-prospect to go with a real NFL QB, whether that QB was on the roster or not. Which is the right way to go about it. Its chicken or egg do you get the QB or WRs first. The right answer there is you take what's best available. And where they were hard to argue with beckham as the call
  13. I think there's some truth in this .... he was drafted with the crappy QB in mind. As in we'll throw some slop around there and this guy has a decent chance of getting it. However that's not how the top passing games function. That leaping catch made by Beckham was thrown in the precise spot where the DB can't get it but the WR still has a chance. And isn't building around sub-standard QBs a flawed approach in a QB driven league? Which again supports Beckham as the better pick because his skill set is more aligned with the big time offense.
  14. as I pointed out earlier THAT IS THE KEY DIFFERENCE
  15. Thats the type of catch I see Beckham making that I don't see Sammy .... QB just throws it higher than the DB can leap confident beckham has that extra 6"-10"+ vertical. That also separates someone as elite in the NFL ... open when they're seemingly covered.
  16. please lets not go there. Eli is having a horrible year (3rd in picks), after a poor year in 2013. Odell missed training camp and the first 6 games, and he's already looking like a polished vet
  17. ... but should we have known on draft day too? I mean is Sammy's film any better than this? http://youtu.be/sS7-ZCAUEds Their combine #'s also don't suggest Watkins is clearly superior. - 40 time was identical - Watkins was an inch taller, 17 lbs heavier, and not surprisingly did 12 more reps on the bench - Beckman has bigger hands and higher vertical, the latter of which really showing up on winning jump balls in the NFL I think NFL.com Wesseling is spot on in his article "Odell Beckham has the brightest future of rookie WRs" http://www.nfl.com/n...e-of-rookie-wrs
  18. why dont we find out what we have in our 1st round/16th overall QB pick with all of 14 starts under his belt, before going after other teams cast-offs who've had more time to prove themselves?
  19. I agree, statute of limitations is long since passed if the allegations refer to the TV show era, unless it opens the door to more recent litigatable allegations. However It does seem clear he's suffering near term consequences in reputation and loss of business with cancellations from Netflix and NBC
  20. Now Lisa bonnet chyming in too “According to the karma of past actions, one’s destiny unfolds, even though everyone wants to be so lucky…Nothing stays in the dark 4ever!” the 47-year-old actress, who played Denise Huxtable on the hit NBC series starring Bill Cosby, tweeted Friday. http://pagesix.com/2014/11/22/are-lisa-bonets-mysterious-tweets-hinting-at-cosby-scandal/?_ga=1.111137029.1234196514.1408916523
  21. Played wreckless and took too many hits. He'd take on linebackers and safeties with a full head of steam, rather than go out of bounds when he already had the first down. Which was just crazy. When forced to be a pocket passer he's just so-so.... not a great arm, not great vision ... i.e. backup material. Which if not for the legacy is exactly what he'd be right now.
  22. William Shatner ... great range William Shatner "Rocket Man":
  23. Their guards were rocketing off the snap. I dont see ours doing the same. Plus Carr has good footwork, orton? err...not so much
  24. NF is also well north of the south towns. Much less risk of roof and transportation issues due lake effects.
