..... including the 2 college playoff games and NFL wildcard games went 0 for 6. Had FSU>Oregon because ducks were missing their leader on defense and I think Winston > Mariota Ala > osu thinking there's no way osu can match Alabama's power Cards > panthers because cards were better team all year and panthers won that joke of a division Steelers > ravens because steelers were at home and seemed to have come up more in big games near the end of season Bengals > colts, thinking bengals were more balanced. But pick was in before I knew Green was out and I probably would have changed it .... (so this is my one small redeeming game) Lions > cowboys, thinking lions would shut down Murray and then get pressure on romo. That pretty much was working but lions offense went to sleep too (lions remind me a lot of bills) Overall smoked.....0 & 6 is ridiculous

NFC Wild Card game 2: Lions at Cowboys
truth on hold replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watched it on nfl.com and they show the reaction on cowboys sideline before it was picked up. They're livid about something as if they think it's obviously not PI .... and it's beyond the normal objections. Idk weird call. But overall in the game I didn't see a cowboys bias. For example the Murray TD called back on a questionable hold on witten, the spot over turn late in first half that gave lions a first, as examples of rulings that favored lions. Wrt PI in general I thought they were letting both teams get away with more than usual throughout the game -
1. Hard to see too many definitive things without knowing who coach and staff will be, but ..... 2. Definitely need guards. Via FA and draft 3. Give EJ a chance 4. Fred isn't done. He never had speed, his game is the same as ever. None of the backs did much this year behind that line. 5. For the right price keep Spiller. He's explosive and commands the defense attention. By comparison there was a big drop off when Brown tried to fill his shoes (and he's not bad). 6. Have doubts Watkins is a true #1. He's simply not in the league of Bryant, jones, brown, green, or fellow rookie beckham. Looking like we overpaid for him, could sure use that 1st round pick back. 7. With that said, next year has a chance to be better than last, it's all about the coach at this point.

NFC Wild Card game 2: Lions at Cowboys

Although I can't explain why the flag was picked up, overall I didn't see the officiating favoring cowboys. -

That lions o-line is nasty bad. Overall lions remind a lot of bills, just a little better. Good defense but prone to give up big play Not enough support from offense Bad o-line -
Top 4 (or 5) QBs in AFC Semifinals
truth on hold replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NFC will be Wilson, Rodgers, Newton and romo or stafford. Wilson and Rodgers are indisputable top of the heap. Romo and a stafford are good. Cam can kind of throw out because that division was crap. However panthers did beat a team with a much better record but an inferior QB, again supporting the importance of the position. -
Doubt there's much debate Brady, Manning, Luck are top 3 AFC QBs. Some might say Flacco is 4th or 5th depending on where they rank Ben and Rivers. But in any case it's hard not to accept the evidence that it's a QB driven league.

Scathing article in NY Daily News on Marrone
truth on hold replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
id like to see that article because all I'm hearing is negativity. Listened to mike lupica on espn ny radio via an app yesterday, and the entire show was focused on lambasting marrone. Saying how Rex is simply a better football coach and it's unacceptable to fire him and bring in marrone. -
Scathing article in NY Daily News on Marrone
truth on hold replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The article is kinda lightweight and sounds hastily put together, but that supports what I'm hearing out of NY media: they don't want marrone coaching the jets. If casserly and marrone thought it was smooth sailing opting out and taking jets HC vacancy, they are sadly mistaken IMO. Never seen so much animosity directed at a candidate before he gets the job, and can't possibly imagine how an owner could go thru with this. -
NFC Wildcard Game 1: Arizona at Carolina

Sad fate for a cards team looks so promising. Just couldn't keep a QB healthy. Now knocked out by a sub .500 team that shouldn't even be in post season -
Yet he's still in the same small market after all these years. Obviously some people like him

Head Coach candidate: Mike Shanahan
truth on hold replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
9ers are brand name buyers. Wouldn't be surprised if they make him an offer. But does he wan to commit to another read-option QB who hasn't been able to adjust to pocket passer? -

He also brought jake the snake to Denver and then washed his hands of him. Once benched, made it clear his only role on the team would be that of backup. -

Jmho but shannie would have no interest taking on cutler. Too arrogant to let someone spoil his gig. Just like he washed his hands of jake the snake and rg3, he wouldn't want to be tied to cutler after seeing how things went down in Chicago. Better to start with the guy he inherited in EJ and see what he can do making something of someone else's damaged goods. -

Arrogant and a control freak but better than marrone. His redskin record not nearly as bad as people think because he did get them to playoffs -
Jason Peters - Hall of Famer
truth on hold replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lol Vick is one of the most sack prone QBs in the league because he can't pickup the blitz and holds onto the ball too long -

When you're paying the top guy the average of the top 5 guys id say that's a deal -

Maybe as a side business here he can open the "Shanahan School for Arrogance" -

Some we let walk like Whitner and Byrd were good decisions. Some we didn't find a way to keep like peters weren't. That's just the way it goes. -

Don't see him having a compatible personality with Schwartz. -

Not only HOF but candidate for best ever IMO -
With QB needy teams bucs and titans drafting 1 and 2 odds are one if not both go in top 2. With other teams that could draft QB like jets, rams, bears, and redskins rounding out top10 can't possibly imagine how either one is on the board by time draft gets to 11

Marrone could be headed to Jets
truth on hold replied to thewildrabbit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Was listening to espn radio ny app and they're busting on marrone. Saying its a travesty if they end up swapping Ryan for him. The inside story they claim is that casserly told woody to get marrone and that's why marrone opted out -
No first round pick? Why not trade Sammy?
truth on hold replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Again you're very confused. My comment clearly was about trade value now as I said "of course beckham gets a 1st". And I never said "leagues" better just that he's on another level. My long term view on them is not relevant to the subject of this thread, and clearly it was not referenced here either.
