Who is really looking forward to the Super Bowl
truth on hold replied to Nasty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Me, all the pats hate doesnt change the fact this is an epic one: - Carroll vs bellichick - Seattle defense vs pats offense - young gun Wilson vs old guard brady - gronk vs legion of boom - beast mode vs the media - brady and bellichick chasing records I could go on. But needless to say the two best teams are playing. And its highly unlikely either gets blown out. This should be a real good one. -

Again, is the losing team really scarred? Do they really care? Im sure they knew who the better team was going in. -

Is "Ground and Pound" Obsolete?

Strong defense + ground game + smart qb that protects the ball but can make timely plays = Seattle seahawks = super bowl -
Roman/Rex: Won't develop a Franchise QB
truth on hold replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ryan was a couple plays away from being in the supwr bowl 2 years in a row. Romans team was a play away from winning it. Yeah, I'm OK with this -

Quesion for those with kids: is it a valid assumption that kids will be scarred due to such a loss? Don't kids shake things off pretty quickly? I remember playing school sports and just remember being more impressed with the opponent after a big loss that anything else. Wondering if any of the opposition could be pros someday. The actual score wasn't something I'd really focus on. -

But the losing team in the basketball game sounds so physically inferior have to believe they would have gotten the short end of the stick too if the game had gotten rough -

Sportrac predictions for salaries: Hughes 5-$60m
truth on hold replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Question now is Hughes versatile enough to play OLB in a lot of 3-4 / hybrid looks? If not then its not worth top dollars for a guy that will see less than half the snaps -
Bills hire Sanjay Lal as WR coach

Lol really for guys who's primary responsibility is setting up cones and writing down players times in drills -
The Five Most Overrated Players In The NFL
truth on hold replied to sferris's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Then why are defensive players included? How can spiller be over rated from a pure football perspective when no one really talks about him that much, and his FA dollars aren't being projected anywhere near top RB? Anyway, here's mine: 1. P Manning Come up lame in too many big games. Weak arm and not nearly as versatile and dynamic as peers like Brady and rodgers. 2. Wilfork Absolute shell (fat one) of his former self. But the announcers keep pretending hes still a force out there. Why can't they say the obvious? 3. Fitzgerald Have to agree his production doesnt match the reverance any more 4. Kaep He's really regressed and it looks like it will be hard to turn his game around 5. Megatron Not a force like he used to be. Too easily contained. Many others have passed him like Dez. And really never was as dangerous as guys time like Moss and Rice Honorable mention Crabtree - doesnt justify his place in WR ranking Talib - not true shutdown. Not physical enough and too easily dinged up with contact Welker - quickly fading into irrelevance -

Its not the kids fault on the winning team either. They're just doing what the coach is telling them. Its not like they can completely stop shooting entirely either -
The Return of David Lee?
truth on hold replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's why I like Rex being realistic about trying to match bradys game. You know if you have a QB on the roster that can do that....we dont, most teams don't ....nothing to be ashamed of. But be realistic that you're best bet to beat them is primarily with defense, supported by a ground and pound offense, chews up clock, and doesn't turn it over. Doesnt mean not taking some shots downfield, but just being smart about it and going on plan on throwing around 20x not 40x. -

if the idea was to protect the losing team's psyche, then their coach quitting is bad too -

didn't Jauron say something like this after the blowout losses to Pats? "People shouldn’t feel sorry for my team," opposing coach Dale Chung of Bloomington High told The Sporting News. "They should feel sorry for his (Anderson’s) team, which isn’t learning the game the right way." -
A high school girls basketball coach in California has been suspended for a rare reason: Winning by too large a margin. Arroyo Valley's Michael Anderson kept his foot on the gas pedal even as his team went up by 60 early in the game against a winless opponent. http://yahoo.thepostgame.com/blog/heroes-villains/201501/high-school-girls-basketball-coach-suspended-after-his-team-won-161-2#sthash.36VWR6qt.dpuf

Bears to hire John Fox; Broncos interview Kubiak
truth on hold replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think he's been black balled. He just wasnt nearly as attractive a candidate as he thought. (And with the jets in particular sounds like casserly gave him bad info). That "I took the bills to 9 & 7" line wasn't resonating with owners and GMs. First off they missed the playoffs so who really cares? Second week 17 didn't really count since pats rested their starters. And lastly the side of the ball that accounted for improvement ... Defense ... he's not given credit for. The areas he is closely tied to ... Offense and oline, underperformed. These outsider perceptions of where he did and didn't add value may be wrong, but thats how it goes. -

no wonder management likes him -
"Just tossing out a bunch of Bon Jovi CDs and posters I found in the drawers. Looks like Marrone was banking on a different owner." Or .... "The offensive playbook they left behind had all the O's running up the middle and getting tackled for a 2 yard loss by the X's. Weird." Or .... "Just flashed on the screen Mariota declared. You think there's a chamce he drops to 50?" Or .... "For the 5th time now I didn't order any pizzas. Must be someone playing a prank. You said the guy placing the orders had a Bronx accent. Does that sound like me?"
