When Ratliff went down you saw that defense really struggle goes to show you how important that NT is in the 3-4. -

His guy just signed on to be the HC at SU. Dallas has probably the most talent on defense in the league and they under acheived greatly. Not sure why either, maybe their DBs were suspect cause of age. -
He is staying but he would be the concensus #1 LBer if available or Jarvis Jones.

If and when philly gets a coach Pettine may say thank but no thanks and wait it out. Got a feeling Mel Tucker may be our guy. -
Or it could have been the level of talent he played all year, I think if you look at the teams ND faced you will see why he is a bit over hyped, great story and played through a lot of adversity but just does not have the speed and recognition of Jones or Chritian Jones from FSU.

He was exposed big time, cant play in space and shed blcoks. Granted Bama has the best OL in the country what is he going to be able to do agianst NFL lines? Jarvis Jones gets my nod right now.

Regardless I think bradham is a starter next year. The kid did great at the end and can be a stud in any defense as he dispalyed at FSU. And I am not only saying this because i am an FSU fan. -

Bills hire Doug Marrone to be Head Coach
BUFFALOTONE replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure I agree with you, just as any HC can depart or resign a portion of the contract will have to be bought out. I agree it wont be a current OC/DC def a position coach though. I really do not want a guy who has been out of the game for some time to get the position ala Monte Kiffin. -

I gotta think the majority of their search of cooridnators are in the playoffs and they are waiting to speak to them. -
Kyle Williams and calling out Bills effort
BUFFALOTONE replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is sad to type but you play to his strenghts and find a way to motivate him. I am willing to bet Mario was never pulled aside once he got into college and especially the NFL and told we need more impact and better effort out of you. Thats the downside of showing a guy $100 million. Its the entitlement, I am an Orange fan from afar and really liked the direction Marronehad them going we will see if he can steer the Bills family trucksters. -

Gents look at it from a different angle. The FO interviewed 5 candidates and in all honesty it seemed like the interest was mutual on both ends. Instead of taking the easy way out by hiring a coach like Wisenhut who really only had success as a HC when Warner decided to return. Lovie, while he took the Bears to a Super Bowl with Rex as his QB there was so much inconsistency on offense that the team was lost. They bring in Cutler to fix the issues and it seems like they are going backwards. Their OL is terrible and has been for years. Horton? Was a legut candidate until his Defenses got gashed after week 5 on. Kelly form what I have read wanted full control and that wasnt going to happen here. I am an Orange fan second to the Noles and liked Marrone, all I knew was he was the Saints OC prior to taking the job, he could have stayed in the NFL but took a HC job for the experience. He really is no different then Kelly in the fact that one was a winner in the NFL and one was a winner in the NCAA. -

Cowher better than Dick Lebeau for all that he has.... -
Thank god i thought I was alone on that. No idea who was starting the conversation and who ended it.

Its not so much the offense he runs but the way he manages games and situations. I found it coincidental how Brandon talked about analytics in his presser and that is exactly where Kelly excels. He uses a lot of percentages ot go for it in certain 4th down situations rather than punting and or taking field goals, I am making it sound simple but its much more complex than that. That is where he is getting the attention. And I believe Belicheck contacted him rergarding how to combat the offense he runs as it is probably the wave of the future with more athletic QBs being the norm. Its about finding the weakness on every play but the tempo is key. My only concern is the wear and tear it puts on your defense when you move the ball that quickly. he like the small speedt backs, can you imagine what he could do with CJ? "shuttering"

You really cant be serious. Please say this is a joke? Swinney is the same guy who hired a high scool coach to run his offense, paid him a million a year and the guy was never had an ounce of college cred. Yeah this is the guy i want running our offense.

He has the worst pass D in hte league if I recall or one of the worst. No thanks.

Arians, what he has done with a rookie under those circumstances he deserves a shot. Not to mention his tenure in PIT. Hoping hte Whaley connection brings him here.

Good people or people that are good at their jobs, there is a difference. I don't want to see anyone lose a job/career but when you aren't affective at your responsibility it is time ot find someone who is. Can you honestly sit back and say this was a successful season without even looking at the W/L column? Who did we grow? Who got better and who re-gressed? Stevie played unbelievably, where was this effort all year? Spiller is a diampnd in the rough and it took losing Freddie to really see it. OL-solid, Defense-porous from every angle. -

Havent missed this debacle in 15 years and had no qualms about not going this year. Then I get a call that a vendor has 2 in the club level and a parking pass, and I am off Monday so I can have a few bowls of loud mouth soup and not have to wake up early. I will be there early with the fryer going and some cold ones flowing, fk it its the Bills/Fins gotta go. -
Is Stevie Johnson Playing Scared?
BUFFALOTONE replied to BuffBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Calvin Johnson, Hakeem Nicks, Larry Fitzgerald, Vincent Jackson, Steve Smith, Brandon Marshall, Jordy nelson, Greg Jennings, should I continue? Ask yourself if Stevie is on par or better than anyone of these guys?? Thats what i thought, not every team has a #1, they can call them that for playbook purposes, Stevie sure makes a great salary for a "#1".
