  1. We have two phones on Verizon, 700 shared minutes and unlimited "In" calling (which works great for us, since pretty much our whole family uses Verizon) total is about $80/month.
  2. Pretty much exactly how I feel. I liked the first couple Mummy flicks - and really liked Rachel Weisz - and while I wouldn't drop the $10+ to go see it in the theater, I'll probably catch it on DVD...
  3. Just ask Google, apparently there is a whole website dedicated to countdowns for jailbait teens...
  4. Dakota Fanning.
  5. The saddest things surrounding Hitler's suicide were the fact that the world was deprived of handing out justice (and seeing him hang Mussolini-style) and that Goebbels and his his killed their six kids (oldest was 12) before they committed suicide. Agreed.
  6. I'm not disputing that hazing occurs on a lot of teams, but I never considered the type of things that you mentioned harmful - the "steal the hat, try and come get it" crap - it was just stupid adolescent boys being boys crap. Never liked it much myself, but never complained about it. But I just can't let the coaches/adults off the hook by blinding throwing out the "we wanna blame someone" copout. Yes, the adults should absolutely have responded better. They should have been in better position to make sure the kids didn't get out of hand. They could have stopped things before it escalated to the level it reached. If that kind of stuff happens somewhere else unsupervised, then there's not a lot you can do but look at the kids involved. But as parents you have to trust that the coaches and adults on the bus are going to watch out to make sure that the kids don't get hurt. Yes, the kids get the lion's share of the blame for doing what they did, but the coaches/adults deserve some blame for not being aware of it/able to stop it. The perps are going to find out that they can't do whatever they want, because they are looking at the possibility of 1-8 years in prison.
  7. I played through HS and into JUCO and never saw a lot in the way of hazing, so I don't know what would be considered normal or excessive in terms of generic hazing. (I don't consider making the "rookies" carry the equipment hazing.) But with 2-3 adults on the bus - how did they all miss sexual assaults? In high school at least one JV coach rode up front with the JV team and at least one varsity coach was in the back with the varsity team to make sure no one got out of hand.
  8. I'm still not sure why the Vanity Fair pic is raising such a ruckus when there is a pic of her pulling her top down to reveal her bra floating around the Interwebs...
  9. The Superficial LINK (probably NSFW) And a link to a story on MSNBC which shows the photo BillsFan mentioned.
  10. Here's the link to BN story: LINK. Initially, the students were “subjected to physical abuse involving slapping, punching and kicking,” but then things “progressed to a level that rose to criminal activity,” said State Police Major Christopher L. Cummings. Three varsity baseball team members were arraigned Friday in Town Court on felony counts of third-degree aggravated sexual abuse and misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a child. One of the players was charged with two counts of sex abuse. The sex-abuse charges involve crimes in which an object is forcibly inserted into another person, according to troopers, who declined to elaborate on that aspect of the Wilson case. WTF? Where were the coaches/adult chaperones?
  11. I get a chuckle out of the moms they interview on the news who say they're not sure they are going to let their kids watch Hannah Montana any more, or that it's a huge issue, and I think it's even more hilarious that Disney is attacking Vanity Fair when Miley's parents and reps were on set and saw the pics before anything went to print. If people are pissed at anyone, it should be at Billy Ray and the rest of the adults that were there to supposedly watch out for Miley's best interests - and it doesn't look like they were too concerned at the time, just afterwards when the crap hit the fan.
  12. Article says he made $3.5M spamming for 20 companies...so tack the cost of his incarceration onto his $715,000 IRS fine/fees/whatever they're calling it. Problem solved.
  13. There is video of the hidden staircase and crawl space leading to the soundproof room on MSNBC - after seeing the lengths he went to in order to keep it a secret it's not surprising that no one knew this was going on. It's really sad that someone could even consciously decide to do something like this.
  14. Roger's having a bad year...couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
  15. Sorry, gonna need to see your resume before I can validate your grade.
  16. I don't know what surprised me more - that I didn't know much about this guy before this weekend and am pleasantly surprised the more I hear; or the fact that a Wawrow article used the wrong form of "fazed" in the third paragraph. Probably some overzealous copy editor...
  17. Growing up we had a neighbor who would play a ton of NES and Sega and would always run over to our house to show us how far he got on a certain board...inevitably he'd fail and he'd blame it on our controllers -- which were usually in better condition than his...I think he had to buy us a replacement controller once after getting frustrated at some board and breaking one of ours...
  18. Do you read what you write, or do you drift in and out like Peter Griffin? Timlin came in at the end of the game. He had NO INFLUENCE on the other bullpen pitchers. He struggled. Your offense struggled. You lost the game because of both. Period. Forget it, I'm out.
  19. Can't believe I forgot about .
  20. So one guy struggling = our bullpen is terrible. Got it.
  21. Wow, so you have one guy struggling. What bullpen doesn't? You've still got a lockdown closer and a bunch of pretty good arms in the pen. Timlin might be struggling right now, but there are a lot of teams with worse bullpen situations. Again - last night your bullpen allowed one run on five hits over 4.0 IP. That's a pretty solid outing overall.
  22. Yeah, a bullpen with Papelbon as the closer is terrible. Cry me a river. Joe Borowski can knock out two blown saves in a week, tired arm or no. EDIT: And how exactly does the bullpen blow an 11-inning game when your offense doesn't score a run from the 6th inning on? I didn't see the game (watching my Tribe beat the Yanks) but looking at the box score it seems your bullpen went 4+ inning with 5 hits and 1 run allowed. That's pretty solid overall.
  23. That's part of the reason why old games took much longer to beat (as opposed to today's games.) More and more of today's games have checkpoints; layers and layers of cheat codes for infinite ammo/lives/invincibility; and printed and/or online walkthrough guides available on a dozen video game sites. Can't get past a level? Go online, find a code or a walkthrough and bam! problem solved.
  24. Goody, another reason not to watch. Will Fallon continue looking at the camera/audience and giggling throughout his sketches, just like on SNL?
