Try simplyhired.com. It's a metasearch engine that searches Career Builder, Monster, and a bunch of others. I've seen more relevant results using Simply Hired than trying to hit a bunch of different searches. Also try Career Board, they seem to have more local jobs and the different sites are broken down by region - [cityname].careerboard.com, etc.

I know this upcoming season could be a good one (by recent standards) or a long one for us FSU fans, but for the first offseason in the last few years I actually feel good about the direction of the program. Bobby is on his way out, Jimbo is the HC-in-waiting and last season's new coaches have a year under their belts, they're recruiting tougher kids on the offensive side of the ball...

Bills fan turns into Pats fan wants back into Bills fandom
Bmwolf21 replied to Hirly5's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. Anything that hurts the Pats* fanbase is a good thing. Let the kid back in on probationary status until he does something to prove his loyalty to the Bills. Maybe sneaking into the Pats hotel on Dec. 27 and setting off some sort of stink bomb or getting photographic evidence of Brady in a "hotel huddle" with some of his P*ts* teammates. -
Maybe it's just me, but I don't see how a remake "ruins" a classic film. All it does is produce a crappy version of a classic, which you can decide whether or not to watch. Now when you're talking about touching up a film, like what George Lucas has done with Star Wars (Han shot first, damn it) then I agree. (I like some of GL's touch-ups, dislike some and couldn't care less about others. I do like the update of Palpatine's hologram, since the original was the image of an old lady combined with chimpanzee eyes. I prefer continuity in the story and characters whenever possible.)

That's not nice, there are a lot of nice people in Jacksonville - or so I'm told...

Honda, which marketed the Accord hybrid's strong performance and luxury equipment, misjudged how much people would pay for a hybrid car and the importance consumers who are inclined to buy hybrids place on fuel economy, analysts say. The Honda Accord hybrid, which had a V-6 engine, got little better mileage than a conventional four-cylinder Accord -- and cost a lot more, Mr. Nerad said. "The Accord four-cylinder automatic gets 24 mpg in the city and 37 on the highway, while the Accord hybrid got 28/35 miles per gallon," Mr. Nerad said. "Meanwhile, the Accord hybrid cost around $33,000, while even a loaded four-cylinder Accord cost around $27,000. And you could get a four-cylinder Accord for a lot less than that -- $20,000 or so -- in the marketplace." LINK

I didn't realize that the MILF-y assistant at NORAD -- the one who counts down how many parts of the launch code Joshua has discovered -- died in 1995 of a heart ailment. Just 46 years old... Wiki Link with picture - Juanin Clay (safe for work.)

Don't forget the Chevy Tahoe, Toyota Camry and Highlander hybrids, and Lexus lists three hybrid lines on its site - the RX, GS and LS.

I'm right there with you. I've gone back and forth on this since the FA period started -- I've been patient and advocating the Sabres not pay through the nose for someone who might or might not help, followed by disgust at the league and "the market" and now, after reading the article on the Sabres' disinterest in Orpik, I'm disgusted with the Sabres FO again. The market value thing really burns me up. It seems like, as Ralph said above, that every year our FO is shocked by the market and can't believe this or that. I just have to wonder how aggressive we are being in trying to get these guys before the market blows up their cost. Look at Tampa. Whether the moves were right or wrong, they got aggressive, targeted the guys they wanted and made bold moves to get them. I think we're heading to another labor stoppage, but it won't do any good. No one is putting a gun to these owners' heads to sign off on these ridiculous deals.

Campbell at $7.1M is about $3M more than I would have wanted the Sabres to pay. I don't begrudge Soupy for getting as much as he can, but the market is so effed up right now that guys who are good players are getting star player money, and 3rd-liners are getting 1st-line money. It's ridiculous. I'm as ticked as anyone that the Sabres weren't able to address a couple of their needs yesterday, but I'd probably be more ticked if we had to vastly overpay just to sign someone.

Depending on the manufacturer it's actually come down quite a bit - I think initially they were upwards of $7500. I did see this Newsweek article saying that Honda and Toyota are working on lowering the replacement battery costs: For those unlucky few who have to replace their own batteries, the cost is coming down. On June 1 Honda is slashing the cost of its batteries from $3,400 (excluding installation) to as low as $1,968 on an Insight or as high as $2,440 on an Accord hybrid. Toyota also plans to substantially cut battery prices, which now stand at $3,000 (excluding installation), down from $5,500 on the original Prius. Both automakers attribute the price cuts to improved technology and lower production costs. But some analysts think Toyota and Honda are really trying to get ahead of consumer concerns about battery replacement. "PR is a very important factor in the hybrid market," says J.D. Power's Omotoso. "Honda and Toyota have the oldest hybrids on the road. And when a hybrid gets to be that old, you have to factor battery replacement costs into your purchase decision."

Good points about the hybrid premium. We had people coming into the Toyota dealership wanting to get on the list for a Highlander Hybrid (this was about 4 years ago) and we tried to explain to them that they would have to drive something like an extra 12-15,000 miles per year to offset the premium. (EDIT: Gas in the Orlando area at that time was in the upper 1.75 - low 2.00 range.) Most customers just couldn't follow the numbers.

Ouch. That's like the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon hybrids - shelling out around $50,000 to get yourself 20 miles to the gallon in a hybrid SUV. I hadn't read a lot on the Volt, so maybe that's the case (gas engine charging the batteries.)

Butch Davis is going to make a world of difference there, and if he recruits well he is going to hurt NC State and Clemson.
-
You're right about Clemson - they always lose a couple games they should win, and that has to fall on Little Bowden. Tommy's teams have always managed to lose a couple they should win. Maryland - I don't know. We always hear about Big Ralphie, how he's got these great recruits/upperclassmen, etc., and it seems like it's either feast or famine for them. He's had four good-to-great seasons - 10-2, 11-3, 10-3 (his first three years) and a 9-4 mark in 2006 -- but has also had three sub-.500 years (5-6, 5-6 in 2004 and 2005, and 6-7 last year.) Va Tech is always tough, and Wake has been tougher in recent years.

The biggest wildcard for FSU will be their very young offensive line. They have enough talent at the skill positions to get 8 wins - their schedule isn't too bad this year, and they could easily be 5-1 at the 6-game-mark. They open with Western Carolina, Chattanooga, Wake Forest, Colorado, Miami and NC State. Their three toughest ACC games are all at home - Clemson, Va. Tech and Wake Forest - and I see them at 8-5 or maybe, if things are fall into place, 9-4. Ramius I do occasionally check in and listen to Cameron but usually more often during football season, so I didn't hear all his comments on the Booker interview, but I have heard him, in the past, mention similar things that's he's heard from other players and sources.

We had one incident when we lived in Florida - a clerk double-charged our debit card - and while it was only $10 they put the money back in the next day. When I talked with a BoA's in-branch CSR she claimed they will help you with bounce fees and get the money back in your account ASAP, but I don't know about credit report issues. I'm very surprised that PayPal was so cooperative. I've read and heard nothing but bad things about the way PayPal deals with customer service, complaints, fraud, etc. There's a real nice PayPalSucks website that talks about a lot of the issues with PayPal. After reading through that one and a couple others I took my bank account info off my PayPal account and use my credit card to fund it. That way I theoretically have MasterCard or Visa in my corner if PayPal really gives me problems.

Yeah, there was a lot to be disappointed in over the last few years, not the least of which was Bobby tarnishing his image and legacy by becoming bitter and petulant with the Jeffy situation. You're absolutely right, a non-Bowden gets fired three years into that offense, he doesn't get to 2006 and then get a golden parachute buyout. Losing Steele to 'Bama pissed me off, the McPherson and Xavier Lee clusterfuggs, Fred Rouse stealing from his teammates (I hear Rouse is at FAMU now) and the general lack of accountability from the coaching staff for anything that went wrong during games. There was a lot of blame thrown at the players and a lot of players thrown under the bus in postgame interviews, something that really shocked and disappointed me. FWIW, there was a good interview with Lorenzo Booker a couple weeks ago in a Philly paper where he spilled the beans on Jeffy's offensive meetings, how he never accepted any responsibility for the o's struggles, how he had no cohesive gameplan or strategy, etc. I'll try to find the link. EDIT: Found the link. He later clarified his comments about the school and Tally, but you could tell he's still a little bitter about the whole Jeff Bowden issue.

They're working on it - Jimbo Fisher is the announced coach-in-waiting - and I think that despite his objections, Bobby really wants to retire with that record and is just hoping that JoePa decides to go soon as well. I think a big problem was that the coaching staff changed -- they lost Richt to Georgia and Amato to NC State -- and there wasn't enough of a challenge brought against the idea of promoting his overwhelmingly under qualified son as the OC. Then, as the team's offensive struggles mounted year-after-year, Bobby took criticisms of the offense as personal attacks against himself and his family, rather than what they were - criticism of the offense, the strategy, etc., and he dug in his heels and challenged people to force him to make a change.
