OMON!!!!!!!!
-
Maybe this Armon guy is the seventh cylinder...
-
Doesn't everyone drive a V-7?
-
His name is OMON, not Armon. Moron.
-
I'm probably in the minority, but I think Deion has actually sounded decent and has been the best of the three. Course that's not saying much, and I'm used to his unintelligble garbage from the pregame shows, but still...
-
Nice pickup by Jackson running through a HUGE hole on the left side.
-
Can't believe what I just saw. I swear I read on this board, just this week, that JP can't scramble or run.
-
No idea why we are even trying to flare Barnes out in the flat like that.
-
Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. He throws that -- in a spot where Lee might be able to make a play and the CB probably won't -- and he's forcing it. If he eats the ball and takes the sack it's "same old 'deer-in-headlights' JP"... It wasn't picked, he wasn't sacked, they didn't fall out of FG range -- I have no problem with that throw at all.

It's embarrassing. I've seen better PbP guys covering HS football games. Guys who seem to do more pre-game research and do a much better job at describing the plays and reading the field. Just five seconds ago - "Lindell in to try a 26, err, 36-yard FG..." WTF? How can you be off 10 yards with the call WHEN YOU HAVE A SPOTTER IN THE BOOTH WITH YOU?!?
-
Freeney was out there on the first series, haven't paid attention to the second.
-
Agreed.
-
Nice 3rd-down conversion.
-
The non-call on the PI was awful.

Yes. Here's a link to Athlon's Hurricanes preview and what it says above Marve: Quarterbacks Not since 1983 has Miami opened the season with a starting quarterback lacking a single down of college football experience. But that’s a certainty in 2008 with a trio of freshmen — Robert Marve, Jacory Harris and Cannon Smith — battling for the No. 1 job. Marve, who broke Tim Tebow’s state high school passing records as a senior at Tampa Plant, is the favorite to win the position. Marve, son of former NFL linebacker Eugene Marve, might have played a lot last season if not for a summer car accident that mangled his left (non-throwing) hand and forced him to redshirt. He showed no ill effects from the injury during spring practice and played better than Harris and Smith, who both enrolled in January. The tall, lanky Harris led Miami Northwestern to a 30–0 record over two seasons and did not appear overwhelmed during spring practice. Smith is likely slotted for the No. 3 job.

Taekwondo fighter disqaulified....

I saw the headline in my Sportsline news email -- it read "Olympics: Cuban kicks ref; ban recommended" and my first thought was Mark Cuban got himself in trouble at the basketball GM game... -
Probably true, and for USA Basketball specifically. I think the announcers said he has never lost a game with Team USA - they're something like 56-0 when he's on the roster. Maybe he was just a good-luck charm.

Never said there was anything wrong with having a favorite or choosing "your guy." I was a JP guy. Still am, a little. But I don't want to see Trent fail or get hurt, because I think that sets the franchise back. IMO the problem is not being able to talk about anything regarding one QB or the other without it blowing up into a full-blown pissing contest. Or seeing "Bills fans" cheering for a Bill to get hurt or to play poorly so "their guy" can ride in, save the day and they can say "I told you so."

Where to watch Bills in Orlando?

They do have a lot of TV's, but the food is still TGIF's - nothing to write home about. -
If Peters doesn't show
Bmwolf21 replied to Not the real Gale Gilbert's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll admit - it's late and I'm tired, so I don't know if you're agreeing or disagreeing with me. All I can say is that I believe that Peters has a contract that has already been redone once, and if he wants it to be redone again he is going about it the wrong way. When I heard he was holding out, I thought "you've got to be kidding me." That's pretty much how I feel now. I'm glad that Brandon isn't tripping over himself to worship at the altar of Jason Peters. Anyway my post was in response to apus' scenario of what would happen if the Bills decided to go after the signing bonus money -- that the NFLPA would somehow "force" the Bills to "don something" with him (trade him.) -

I see what you're getting at, that we have no idea whether he is healthy and if that hernia has healed. I'd rather look at guys like Dumont and Briere when they were with the Sabres - they both had sports hernias, missed half a season after surgery (~3 months) and came back with little to no ill effects -- than look at a guy who saw a ankle injury blossom into a decade-long odyssey. WRT Grant - he was just a disaster with Orlando. His bad ankle pretty much destroyed his lower body while with the Magic -- the ankle is believed to have caused problems with his knee, his ankle, his groin, even got a staph infection after one of his ankle surgeries. -
Diversity in sports = opening more potential markets to sell jerseys, apparel, tickets, cable sports pack subscriptions...in other words, more $$$. If they didn't think there was a market to tap, NASCAR wouldn't give two craps about having black, Asian, Native American or Latino drivers. Same with MLB, the NFL, NHL, etc...

The last few years of the Flutie-RJ, Bledsoe-Losman, Losman-Holcomb, Losman-Edwards (damn, seeing a pattern here) red-blue divide have really proven that some people want their guy to play no matter how the Bills do. I joined a Bills Backers group in Florida to watch one game during the RJ-Flutie controversy and watched so-called Bills fans booing the QB and cheering when he was hit and shook up. Disgusting.

If you don't want to hook up with the Backers and are just looking for a specific place, try any of the Miller's Ale House locations. Decent beer and food selections/prices (even dolphin) and the wings are pretty good - good size, good sauce and good blue cheese. Just make sure you specify "no breading." (I was going to say order them "naked" but that would effectively end this discussion and the giggling and hijacking would commence.) We couldn't get the Sunday Ticket in our condo complex, so we spent many a Sunday afternoon in there. -
Hurricane Fay likely to hit SW FL on Tuesday

Always nice to get warnings about displaced gators and snakes swimming through the flooded areas: In some flooded areas, residents were warned to keep watch for alligators, snakes and other wildlife forced from their habitats and swimming in search of dry land. At least two alligators were captured in residential neighborhoods and several others spotted.
